Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2699: If You’re Uncomfortable, Come to the Hospital with Me!
At night, not sure what time it was, the rain started to fall steadily.
Sylvan Cheney was probably too tired, as he was startled awake by the sound of rainwater.
He raised his head to glance at his watch; it was already past midnight.
The CEO office lights were still on, quiet and serene.
The phone rang unexpectedly.
The servant from the villa called Sylvan Cheney: "Mr. Evan, Miss suddenly has a stomach ache, not sure if she’s about to give birth."
"Oh? Has she been taken to the hospital?"
"Miss doesn’t want to go, she’s insisting on waiting for your return, so I quickly called you. She wants you to personally take her."
"Have the driver take her now. In these matters, she cannot be capricious."
The maid wanted to say something else, but Erin Janus grabbed the phone: "Evan, I want you to personally take me there, you aren’t still busy with work, are you? I’m feeling unwell, I want you to accompany me and our daughter."
"It’s not about whether or not I accompany you; go to the hospital right now. I’m still at the company, I can’t make it back."
Erin Janus heard the tension in Sylvan’s voice, and she laughed softly: "Just a little pain, it’s fine. I’ll wait for you to come back and take me to the hospital."
Sylvan’s face didn’t look good, it turned gloomy, just like the rainy sky outside.
He directly disconnected the phone and picked up the car keys from the desk.
Outside, it was raining, and the temperature was very low. The dry yellow leaves dragged across the ground, swept up by the west wind, lingering in its embrace. It was very quiet outside the corporation; vehicles occasionally drove by on the streets, but for most of the time, not a person was in sight.
All around was pitch black, only the streetlight’s glow was faintly blurred through the rain.
Sylvan drove back to the villa.
In the rain, the Janus Family villa looked like a massive presence, hidden within the mist and rain.
The windshield wipers constantly swiped the glass, clearing the rainwater, but the view was still very blurry. The villa was brightly lit inside, like a palace, exceptionally luxurious.
Sylvan drove the car to the entrance, immediately a servant came out holding an umbrella.
"Sir, you’ve returned. Miss is waiting for you in the living room," the servant said.
Sylvan said nothing, stepped on the stairs, and returned to the villa.
The living room was very bright, with an opulent European style. Erin Janus sat in the living room, supporting her head, one hand holding her stomach, the other picking candied fruits from a plate.
Her face was somewhat pale, but she didn’t seem too different.
As soon as she saw Sylvan, her eyes were bright with vitality: "Evan, you’re back! I missed you a lot... It’ll rain so heavily outside, I thought you’d spend the night at the company again."
Sylvan stood at the door, not entering, his sharp and profound eyes fixed on her face, silent for a long time.
Erin Janus felt uncomfortable being stared at, and she laughed: "Come in, it’s still early, keep me and the baby company."
"Not feeling well? If you’re not feeling well, come to the hospital with me now," Sylvan said.
"It was a bit uncomfortable just now, but I felt better as soon as I saw you. Are you feeling tense? It’s your first time going to be a dad, it’s okay."
"If you’re not feeling well, come to the hospital with me!" Sylvan raised his voice.
Erin Janus was startled by him and slowly stood up, supporting herself with the sofa: "Actually, it’s nothing..."
"If it’s nothing, why did you call me? Hm?"
"I... Are you angry? I miss you, isn’t it right to call you? You really don’t know how to care for a pregnant woman’s feelings, it’s really uncomfortable being pregnant."
