Fated love: the unwanted bride

Chapter 2694: There Will Always Be a Place for Her

  • Next Chapter

Butler Santana held the storage box, feeling even more reluctant than Jasmine Yale.

"I’ve also sorted out some of Little Clementine’s clothes. She’s growing bigger each day, and can’t wear the clothes from the first half of the year anymore. How about donating them to children in need?" Jasmine Yale brought over a handbag, "There are some of my clothes and shoes inside, all about eighty to ninety percent new. Let’s donate them too."

She didn’t plan to take too many things when she left, partly because she couldn’t take them with her, and partly because she didn’t need them.

For example, those shoes Sylvan Cheney bought her, all luxury items, she wouldn’t have the occasion to wear them again.

She wouldn’t be mingling in the financial circles anymore or attending high-end parties and conferences, so those shoes and little dresses wouldn’t be of any use.

"Miss Yale..." Butler Santana’s eyes were moist.

She knew that Jasmine Yale had always been decisive and stubborn. Once she decided something, there was no turning back.

"Thank you, Butler Santana," Jasmine said.

"Miss Yale, when are you leaving?"

"I... will leave just like that," Jasmine Yale smiled, her consistent dimples still at the corners of her lips.

The world is vast, surely there’s a place for her.

Though she couldn’t fit into the financial circle, other circles would surely accommodate her.

Little Clementine sat on the small bed, looking at them with wide, curious eyes. She might not understand what they were doing, but her little hands reached out for her own clothes.

"Want..." the little one mumbled unclearly.

Jasmine Yale laughed, walked over and held her hand: "Don’t need them anymore. These are clothes Baby can’t wear anymore. Let’s give them to other little babies, okay? Mom’s teaching Little Clementine to be someone who knows how to share."

Butler Santana couldn’t hold back and took out a small gold bracelet from the storage box.

"Miss Yale, Little Clementine likes this bracelet a lot, let’s keep it for her."

Little Clementine hadn’t noticed the gold bracelet until now, but upon seeing it, her eyes lit up and she reached out to grab it.

"Her grandfather made her a pair of bracelets, much prettier than this one," Jasmine Yale said flatly.

"Want..." Little Clementine shouted again.

"Miss Yale, it’s just a bracelet, the only thing Mr. Cheney left for Little Clementine... keep it... if you don’t mention it, Little Clementine won’t know who gave it to her."

"No," Jasmine Yale said firmly.

"This..." Butler Santana didn’t insist any further, and silently put the bracelet back.

Little Clementine’s eyes were full of tears, watching her things getting taken away.

Jasmine Yale held her tightly: "Sweet Kitty, Mommy will buy you better ones in the future. Little Clementine is the best."

The little one sobbed, blinked her watery big eyes sadly, tears clouding her vision in a misty white layer.

In the end, Butler Santana reluctantly took everything away and left the community.

As soon as Butler Santana left, Jasmine Yale played with Little Clementine for a while. Little Clementine got tired and soon started napping. The house became really quiet, without a trace of noise.

She took out letter paper from the bookshelf, sitting under the table lamp to write letters to the people she missed.

The elegant yellow floral letter paper exuded a fresh sandalwood scent, suffusing a serene color in the orange-yellow light of the table lamp, making the whole desk incredibly quiet.

She wrote a letter to Yukon Carbon first. Being able to see him and Sweet Kitty before leaving was already her greatest satisfaction.

Leaving Sweet Kitty with Yukon to raise was the best home for Sweet Kitty, much better than following a person like her without a fixed abode.

If she could be at peace in one place, why would she ever want to be uprooted?
