Fated love: the unwanted bride

Chapter 2684: Where Jasmine Yale Wants to Go

Butler Santana just assumed it was a polite remark; regardless, Sylvan Cheney’s personality has changed quite a bit now.

"Mr. Cheney, it’s still raining outside. Take care; Little Clementine is fine, don’t worry about it. Your wife is about to give birth, right? She should be a very pretty little girl," Butler Santana spoke sincerely.

Sylvan Cheney was naturally handsome, as could be seen from Mr. Chale Cheney and Little Clementine.

Erin Janus wasn’t bad-looking either. Their child is mixed-race, definitely good-looking.

Sylvan Cheney stayed silent, his eyes only fixed on the elevator buttons.

The elevator buttons kept flashing, the numbers constantly changing, and his eyes showed a clear shimmer, like the white frost of an autumn night.

"Mr. Cheney, your coat..."

"No need to return it."

"Oh, alright, I understand." Butler Santana didn’t say much more.

The elevator came down just in time.

Sylvan Cheney stepped inside, and the elevator doors closed.

As the doors closed, Butler Santana let out a long sigh.

In front of her, the shadow of Sylvan Cheney seemed to linger, but when she calmed down to look, there was only an empty elevator.

Butler Santana returned to the hospital room.

Little Clementine was still asleep, and Jasmine Yale was also sleeping soundly.

Butler Santana sat quietly in the hospital room, watching over them.

Jasmine Yale slept for over three hours.

When she woke up and moved, she was startled; why was there a man’s coat on her? A coat carrying a familiar scent and the smell of tobacco...

"Butler Santana, Butler Santana," she called out.

"Miss Yale, you’re awake?" Butler Santana pushed the door open.

"Yeah." Jasmine Yale rubbed her eyes, "Who came by?"

"Well..."

"It was him, wasn’t it." Jasmine Yale took off the coat, her expression a bit cool, "Why did he come?"

"He didn’t do much, said he was on his way to the company and just stopped by to check on Little Clementine, didn’t do anything else."

"Is Little Clementine better? Has she woken up?"

"Not yet, the doctor came by and said it was nothing serious, advised to stay in the hospital for a few days."

"I see." Jasmine Yale held onto the table to stand up, her body feeling soft and weak, lacking energy.

"Miss Yale, you should go home and change clothes, I’m here," Butler Santana said, "I’ll take good care of Little Clementine."

"Butler Santana, thank you for your troubles."

"It’s no trouble, just in the future... if I’m not by your side anymore, and something like this happens again, how will you manage? Children are fragile and often get sick. On your own, it’s not easy," Butler Santana sighed.

"Some roads look hard, but you can get through them one step at a time," Jasmine Yale smiled, "It’s alright, don’t worry about me."

Butler Santana nodded, ultimately saying no more.

She knew Jasmine Yale had a stubborn streak, and once she decided on something, she wouldn’t easily change her mind.

Only, she still didn’t know where Jasmine Yale intended to go... Jasmine Yale wouldn’t tell her anymore.

Even though the departure date wasn’t set, she could tell it wouldn’t be too far.

Jasmine Yale left Little Clementine in Butler Santana’s care, and went home alone to pack clothes and essentials, preparing to stay at the hospital for a few days with poor Little Clementine.

The rain was still falling.

The house felt cold and desolate, almost chilly.

She laughed awkwardly; the lively Little Clementine had fallen ill, and even the home felt deserted.

Toys, clothes, and blocks were scattered all over the floor, forming a big pile, with the air filled with the milky smell of the little one’s baby scent.

Jasmine Yale changed into a set of clothes first.
