Chapter 129: Hidden Mirror World
A faint white light appeared on the mirror first then slowly became brighter.
Then the white light gradually changed into blue, continued to intensify before finally transforming into a pale green glow, only then did the light stop increasing.
The elder looked at the mirror for a moment before calmly announcing,
"High Grade Talent."
A low murmur immediately spread through the surrounding disciples.
Chen Yu opened his eyes. A clear trace of excitement appeared on his face when he heard the result.
High Grade Talent.
For most cultivators, this was already an extremely good result.
But when Chen Yu looked toward the elders sitting in front of him, his excitement slowly became restrained.
The elders had reacted calmly, there was no shock or excitement as he expected, only a few nodded slightly.
"High Grade. Not bad."
"For ordinary cultivators, this is already quite rare."
Within the outside world, High Grade talent could already be considered exceptional.
But this was Azura Heaven Sect, one of the Seven Great Sects of the Central Region. Within a sect of this level, High Grade talent was certainly good, but it was no longer considered extraordinary among the truly outstanding disciples.
Chen Yu bowed respectfully before stepping down from the platform.
The elder didn’t waste any time. His gaze returned to the list.
"Next. Li Yan."
A young woman from Medicine Peak stepped forward.
Her cultivation was at the First Level of the Nascent Soul Realm, and unlike Chen Yu, the aura surrounding her was much softer. When she placed both hands on the mirror, a faint medicinal fragrance seemed to spread around her body.
The mirror’s surface rippled as in a few moments, her Nascent Soul’s reflection also slowly appeared.
It was a humanoid figure surrounded by faint green spiritual energy, with several tiny medicinal symbols floating around it.
The color began changing from white to blue and then green before finally stop changing.
"High Grade Talent."
The woman lowered her head slightly, accepting the result before stepping down.
The next disciple was called, then another.
One after another, the disciples stepped onto the platform, followed the elder’s simple instructions, and allowed the Heavenly Judgment Mirror to examine their Nascent Souls.
The process was almost identical each time.
The disciple would place both hands against the mirror and circulate their spiritual energy. The surface would then ripple, and the faint image of their Nascent Soul would gradually emerge within the golden mirror.
Each Nascent Soul’s reflection was different.
One disciple possessed a flame-shaped Nascent Soul that burned with a faint crimson aura. Another had a beast-shaped Nascent Soul surrounded by thick spiritual energy.
A disciple from Formation Peak revealed a Nascent Soul resembling a small formation disc, with complicated spiritual patterns rotating around it.
However, as the examination continued, Long Feng and the other disciples gradually learned more about how the Heavenly Judgment Mirror determined a person’s talent.
The colors produced by the reflections represented the grade of a disciple’s talent.
The elders remained relatively calm throughout the process. The ceremony continued in this manner until another disciple stepped onto the platform.
This time, the moment his hands touched the mirror, the entire surface suddenly trembled.
The purple radiance spread across the entire surface of the Heavenly Judgment Mirror, illuminating the surrounding platform with a deep violet glow.
The disciple himself stared at the mirror in disbelief.
The elder standing beside it also revealed a faint smile.
"Top Grade Talent."
The surrounding disciples immediately became restless.
"Top Grade!"
"Another Top Grade talent!"
"This is already the third one."
The disciple quickly turned toward the elders and bowed deeply. Several elders nodded with greater interest than before.
"Not bad."
"Top Grade talent. This disciple is worth cultivating."
Unlike the earlier disciples, this time the elders’ reactions were clearly more noticeable.
The disciple’s face immediately filled with excitement. He hurriedly stepped down from the platform.
After that, the examination continued.
Long Feng quietly watched everything from below. By now, he had already understood how the Heavenly Judgment Mirror worked.
It wasn’t judging a person’s cultivation realm or combat ability. Instead, it was examining the fundamental quality of their Nascent Soul and using that foundation to determine their innate talent.
White represented Low Grade, blue represented Middle Grade, green represented High Grade, and purple represented Top Grade.
As for anything above Top Grade, none of the disciples had displayed it yet.
One thing was also clear—the brighter the color, the greater the quality of the talent.
But even among all of them, only three disciples were able to show top grade talent. They were Zhu Yuan, Li Qiang and another outstanding disciple whom he had never seen before.
The ordinary elders were clearly pleased.
"Three Top Grade talents among this group. This time we really have some good seedlings."
"With proper resources, they had no problem to become True Disciples in next ten years."
Even the three True Elders showed slightly greater interest.
But their gazes didn’t remain on Zhu Yuan or Li Qiang for long. Instead, they gradually shifted toward one person, Long Feng.
From the beginning of the ceremony, the three True Elders had been aware of his presence. His performance during the wilderness training had already attracted considerable attention, and now they finally had the opportunity to see whether his talent was as extraordinary as his performance suggested.
One of them leaned slightly against his seat, his eyes fixed on Long Feng.
"Let’s see what kind of Nascent Soul he has."
The elder beside him gave a faint smile. "If his talent is truly extraordinary, perhaps you will finally have a reason to break your two-hundred-year silence."
"We’ll see." The third elder gave a quiet laugh.
At that moment, the elder standing beside the Heavenly Judgment Mirror looked down at the list in his hand. His expression became slightly more serious this time.
"Long Feng."
The moment those two words were spoken, the atmosphere around the entire ceremony ground subtly changed.
The scattered conversations among the disciples instantly disappeared. One by one, their gazes turned toward Long Feng.
Even the ordinary elders sitting at the front unconsciously straightened in their seats, while the three True Elders no longer concealed their interest.
After all, Long Feng’s name had already spread throughout the sect after the wilderness training.
Now everyone wanted to know one thing.
What kind of talent did this mysterious disciple possess?
Specially those Core Disciple who had seen the extraordinariness of his soul in the Soul Tempering Tower. They also want to see his soul reflection to know what kind of soul he had condensed.
Even under so many intense gazes, Long Feng forcibly suppressed the excitement in his heart and maintained a calm expression.
No matter what, he was also very interested in seeing his own talent, even more than them.
He slowly stepped out from among the disciples and he walked toward the center of the ceremony ground.
Standing before the enormous golden mirror, Long Feng carefully examined it from close range. The closer he looked, the more extraordinary the Heavenly Judgment Mirror appeared.
The golden frame was covered with ancient patterns that seemed to contain profound mysteries, while the surface remained completely smooth and strangely silent.
Long Feng had seen many treasures since arriving in the cultivation world, but even he had to admit that whoever crafted this must have been incredibly skilled.
It looked like a divine artifact just by appearance!
There’s no telling what rank of treasure it is.
For a moment, the Heavenly Judgment Mirror remained completely silent.
Long Feng slowly placed both palms against the surface of the Heavenly Judgment Mirror. The moment his hands touched it, he expected the same strange sensation he had seen with the previous disciples.
He expected his spiritual energy to be examined, perhaps his Nascent Soul would appear within the mirror after a few breaths.
But nothing happened for one breath, two breaths or them a faint sucking force suddenly appeared inside his mind.
"What...?"
Before he could react, that strange force suddenly locked onto his Nascent Soul.
His soul trembled violently.
The feeling was extremely strange.
It was not painful, but it was as though something had suddenly grabbed hold of his soul and was trying to pull it out of his body.
’It’s pulling my soul?’
Long Feng immediately tried to resist. However, before he could circulate his spiritual energy, the strange force suddenly became stronger.
His consciousness blurred.
The world around him disappeared. Everything happened so quickly that even Long Feng couldn’t react.
When his vision finally became clear again, he found himself floating in an unfamiliar place.
There was no ground or sky, just a vast, silent darkness.
Countless tiny points of light flickered around him like distant stars, appearing and disappearing at irregular intervals.
Long Feng slowly turned his head. His expression became strange.
"Where am I?"
His voice echoed faintly through the darkness, but there was no response. He looked around again and found only the endless void and the countless faint lights surrounding him.
Long Feng’s brows slowly furrowed. He had never encountered anything like this before. Even his consciousness space had been completely different.
This place felt neither like his spiritual sea nor his consciousness. It was as though he had been thrown into an entirely separate world.
As he turn to look behind, he found a small transparent surface was floating. It was extremely thin, almost like a piece of glass suspended in the darkness.
Long Feng’s eyes narrowed and he immediately moved toward it only to found out the image inside the transparent surface gradually became clearer.
But what he seen made his body froze. He could clearly see himself standing outside the mirror, even the disciple and elders, all of them could be seen clearly.
Both of his palms were still pressed against the Heavenly Judgment Mirror. His eyes were closed, his body hadn’t moved at all.
"Did that mirror... pull me inside?"
The moment this thought appeared, Long Feng’s expressions turned strange, even shock beyond words.
