Chapter 1554: Blood from the Neck (Part 1)

For one to understand what chances they had against their opponent, they had to see their enemy in battle. This was the best indicator of a person’s abilities, far more accurate and expressive than the simple power of an aura.

Fortunately or not, Adam and Alexia got that opportunity thanks to the ice worm deciding to intervene in the battle and, as a result, devouring Vaarh, or rather, attempting to do so.

"Gha..." Vaarh exhaled hot air, slowly returning to the ground. It looked easy from the outside, but it was obvious that he had expended a lot of energy on this one attack.

Alexia took a step toward Adam, close enough for him to hear her.

"You want his blood, right?"

Adam nodded. "Yeah, the energy from the fragment is still lingering around. I’m sure as soon as I see his blood, everything will change. I’ll be like a shark that smells a single drop in the whole ocean."

"Huh, whatever you say. Then I’ll use one of my trump cards and wear him down. The fight might move to the surface, so be ready to follow us. By the end of my ability, he should be exhausted. I’m sure the bastard will recover in the next moment, but that should be enough for you, right?"

Alexia’s plan not only had a chance of success but was also quite pragmatic.

She didn’t expect to defeat Vaarh even if she used her trump cards easily. But she was sure that this way she could help Adam become stronger.

If they succeeded, the two of them would definitely defeat Vaarh.

"Got it. In that case, start whenever you’re ready. I won’t miss my chance, you can be sure of that."

Alexia clapped her fists together with a broad smile.

"Alright, in that case, let’s start right now!"

A powerful frosty stream gushed from Alexia as her hair stood on end. Louis appeared next to her, but this time he didn’t hug her from behind.

Instead, he stood in front of her and placed his palm on her chest, directing all his energy to one point.

At the same moment, Alexia’s gauntlets and boots shattered into pieces, revealing her hand and arms, which were now covered with a thin layer of ice and had become weapons in themselves. Her hair glowed brightly and trembled in the air, and two stars were reflected in her eyes.

Their second joint ability was strikingly different from the first. If it was necessary to destroy dozens or even hundreds of enemies, Alexia could rain ice crystals down on them, but when the enemy was someone like Vaarh, this ability was more suitable than others.

Vaarh looked up to see Alexia. She was ready for battle, which was to be the beginning of their victory.

As soon as she took a step forward, her frame trembled, and only frost mist remained in her place.

The next moment, Alexia appeared right in front of Vaarh. Her fist rushed at him, cutting through the wind, and her eyes were colder than ever.

Without hesitation, Vaarh took his spear with both hands. He couldn’t afford to be careless like last time.

Alexia’s fist slammed into the spear shaft as a frost blast rushed toward Vaarh. His block was precise and timely, so the frost rushed past him, touching only the tips of his hair.

His pupils turned left, seeing Alexia’s next strike.

This time, she struck the spear blade directly, but she took no damage. The layer of ice covering her arms up to her elbows was strong enough that she could attack recklessly.

’What’s more,’ Vaarh thought, watching Alexia’s movements. ’She’s become fast, very fast.’

In leaps and bounds, Alexia circled around Vaarh, striking from a different angle each time. He continued to block her attacks, not letting her get too close to him.

Now that he had practically adapted to his new body, he could use all of his current strength to the maximum.

But Alexia’s goal was not to win here and now. She had to weaken Vaarh so that Adam would have a chance to take his blood. That was their path to victory.

"Stop blocking my blows! Take one like a warrior!" Alexia shouted as she found herself right in front of Vaarh the next moment.

His gaze shifted downward as he saw Alexia’s fist coming toward him.

He managed to block her fist from hitting his jaw, which could have ended badly for him.

But, from that position, he couldn’t avoid the impact that passed through his body in a powerful wave.

Whoooooooosh!

The momentum threw Vaarh high into the air, and before he could regain his balance, Alexia jumped after him to deliver the next strike.

Vaarh watched Alexia closely as, in the next clash, her blow threw them both to the surface, breaking through layers of snow.

Following the plan, Adam followed them, jumping through the air across energy platforms.

He knew that all hell must be breaking loose up there at the moment, but that couldn’t stop him from reaching his goal.

After a few leaps, he was met by a cold gust of wind as he found himself in the middle of a snowy expanse.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

In the center of the battlefield, Alexia unleashed a barrage of blows on Vaarh, who continued to defend himself. He waited for her ability to come to an end.

He didn’t have long to wait, because Alexia was ready for her final strike.

"Gha..."

Alexia exhaled cold breath as she turned into a blue flash that rushed forward.

She knew the plan — Vaarh had to bare his neck.

Now, she was going to make him do that, as well as lose his weapon.
