Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife

Chapter 1550 - 1591: Didn’t Call Mommy

  • Next Chapter

The little one jumped in surprise, but she didn’t try to struggle out of Mabel Quinn’s arms. Instead, she stared blankly at Mabel’s tears. Why were so many people crying today? It made her feel so sad too. This auntie crying looked just like when Atlas cried, and it made her really, really want them not to cry.

"Auntie don’t cry... don’t cry..." The little one lifted her small hand and wiped away Mabel Quinn’s tears.

Mabel’s tears fell even harder. "I’m not your auntie, Ivy, I’m your mommy!" That cry sounded like it was coming from the depths of her soul. This was the daughter she had risked her life to protect, the daughter who had always depended on her, and yet now her daughter was calling her auntie.

She clearly knew why, but she still couldn’t control her emotions.

The little one stared, dazed, and only after quite a while did she react and say, "I’m Nannan, I have a mommy, my mommy is over there..." As she spoke, she turned her head to look at Amelia Foster, making it perfectly clear that Amelia was her mommy.

Mabel’s tears were falling even more fiercely, and off to the side, Kyle Kinston and Atlas Shaw had no idea how to comfort her. The whole scene left everyone feeling heavy-hearted.

Being looked at like that by the little one, Amelia suddenly felt at a loss. She looked at this daughter she had only raised for barely two months, yet her heart was full of reluctance to part with her. But no matter how reluctant she was, the child’s biological parents had arrived, and she could also tell that the child’s biological parents loved her very much.

Amelia was a mother herself, so of course she could understand what Mabel Quinn was feeling right now. She walked forward and spoke to the little one, "Nannan, you should actually be called Ivy. This is your mommy, and I..."

For a moment, she didn’t know how to describe herself. Over at the police station they might still think she was a human trafficker; she didn’t even know if they would arrest her and send her to prison.

"Your godmother!" Mabel Quinn quickly cut in, at the same time looking gratefully at Amelia. On the way here, she had learned from the police what Amelia had said in her statement. Putting everything together, it was clear that Amelia had saved Ivy and had even treated Ivy as her own biological daughter. Even knowing that Ivy was "slow," she had never shown the slightest bit of dislike.

Amelia froze, never imagining that Ivy’s biological mother would say this. The woman in front of her was the picture of lifelong nobility, clearly someone from a wealthy family, while she... she was just... "Madam, I... I’m just a servant! I... I..." Amelia was completely at a loss for words.

"If it weren’t for you, I might never have seen Ivy again." Mabel Quinn said. Even though her daughter couldn’t recognize her at this moment, what she felt toward Amelia was nothing but deep, overflowing gratitude.

"Mabel is right." Kyle Kinston spoke up at the side, looking at Amelia. "Of course you’re Ivy’s godmother."

Amelia felt as if she had gone from the Hell Realm straight to heaven. The heart that had been tight with fear and anxiety suddenly relaxed quite a bit. Even more than that, she could feel that they believed her.

They believed she hadn’t trafficked a child; they believed she had been good to Ivy.

"Thank you, thank you!" Amelia, simple and sincere, could only keep repeating these two words.

Right then, a confused expression appeared on the little one’s face. "Mommy... godmom... Nannan doesn’t understand, Nannan isn’t Ivy!"
