Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife

Chapter 1549 - 1590: Is This His Punishment?

  • Next Chapter

Only such a couple could have such a beautiful child, Amelia Foster thought. As she looked at this pair, she was completely certain that Ivy must be their child.

Because Ivy’s almond-shaped eyes were so similar to this man’s, yet Ivy’s facial features, nose, and mouth resembled this woman’s.

It’s like a fusion of those two people’s beauty, producing this child.

As soon as Mabel Quinn saw her daughter, she could scarcely control her emotions. Even though, on the way here, she had mentally prepared herself countless times, the moment she truly saw her daughter standing right in front of her—not rushing into her arms and shouting ’Mommy’ with excitement like before, but instead looking at her with unfamiliar eyes—her tears began to fall.

She told herself it’s because Ivy was injured, so she’s forgotten many things, even including her own mother. But...

"Mabel, don’t get too excited. Didn’t we agree on the way here?" Kyle Kinston reminded her, worried that her intense emotions might affect her health and also might scare their daughter.

After all, perhaps to their daughter, they were both strangers now.

Mabel took a deep breath to steady herself, briefly halting her tears.

Kyle wiped away Mabel’s tears, then looked again at the little one standing before them. It was his fault; he hadn’t protected his daughter well. He recalled the vow he once made, to do everything possible to protect his wife and daughter, but he failed.

As a result, Ivy, at such a tender age, had to face such hardships and suffer so much.

When he heard the villagers describe his daughter as a little beggar, taking shelter in a dilapidated, long-abandoned house, eating the scraps given by the villagers, how much did his heart ache?

His daughter, Ivy, should never have fallen to such a state, and the root cause of it all was him!

"Do you...remember who I am?" Kyle Kinston crouched down, looking at his daughter and asked.

For a moment, it felt like when he first saw his daughter but didn’t recognize her. Now it was the reverse; his daughter saw him but didn’t know him at all.

Is this his punishment for the past?

But if heaven really wanted to punish, why include Mabel too?

The little one blinked her dark almond-shaped eyes, staring at Kyle Kinston. To her, he was a stranger, yet felt warmly familiar, much like something dear and close.

After quite a while, the little one shook her head and said, "Uncle’s eyes are like mine, Ivy likes...Uncle."

Kyle Kinston’s body suddenly stiffened, tears welling in his eyes. He remembered when he encountered her in G City, before realizing she was his daughter, she said similar words.

"Yes, our eyes...are very similar," Kyle murmured, referring to the unique almond eyes characteristic of the Kinston Family.

Mabel Quinn had been trying hard to steady her emotions, but upon hearing her daughter’s words, she couldn’t help but hug her tightly and say, "Ivy, do you really not recognize Mommy?"
