Chapter 86: Please Come Back Again.

He looked relieved, although there was still a little worry on his face.

"Alright, Sir Knight, they have accepted the goods, so we can begin unloading them."

Osborne nodded.

Nicholas moved toward the back of the wagon and began removing the sacks of grain one after another.

Osborne watched quietly.

The old man clearly wasn’t as strong as he had once been.

Every sack seemed to require a considerable amount of effort, and he had to pause several times between carrying them from the wagon to the entrance of the merchant guild.

Osborne frowned beneath his helmet.

’Why isn’t anyone helping him?’

He looked toward the entrance of the guild.

There were several people nearby.

Some were merchants.

Some appeared to be workers.

Yet nobody seemed interested in helping Nicholas unload the grain.

Osborne watched for a while longer.

Nicholas continued struggling with another sack.

His breathing became heavier as he dragged it down.

Osborne’s expression slowly darkened.

Then he noticed two grown men standing to the side of the building. Probably employees at the merchant guild.

They were doing nothing.

One was leaning against the wall while the other stood with his arms crossed, both appearing to be waiting for something.

Osborne looked at them.

The two men noticed him at almost the same time.

Their expressions immediately changed.

The man leaning against the wall straightened himself.

The other man lowered his arms.

Both stared at the armored figure.

Neither of them knew what to say.

Osborne continued staring at them.

’So they’re just standing there while he does all the work?’ His mood immediately worsened.

He didn’t say anything.

He simply stepped down from the wagon.

The moment his armored boots touched the ground, the two men stiffened.

A strange chill seemed to run down their spines.

Osborne slowly turned his head toward them.

His crimson eyes remained hidden beneath his helmet, but the two men could still feel his gaze.

Nicholas noticed what was happening and quickly turned around.

"Sir Knight?" The old man’s expression became worried. "Why did you get down?"

Osborne didn’t answer.

His attention remained on the two men.

Nicholas looked between Osborne and the two workers.

Wondering what they could have done to upset him.

Osborne continued staring.

The two men swallowed nervously.

One of them shifted his weight.

The other looked toward the entrance of the guild as if hoping someone would come out and save him from the situation.

Neither wanted to move.

But the longer Osborne stared at them, the more uncomfortable they became.

Finally, one of them stepped forward.

"We’ll help."

The other immediately followed.

"Yes, we’ll help with the unloading."

Nicholas looked surprised.

"You two don’t have to..."

Before he could finish speaking, Osborne reached out and gently held him back.

Nicholas looked up at the armored knight in confusion.

Osborne pointed toward the wagon.

Then he pointed toward Nicholas, before shaking his head.

His meaning was clear enough.

He wanted Nicholas to stop.

The old man hesitated.

"But..." Osborne shook his head again.

Nicholas eventually understood. As much as he wanted to work hard, he was far past his prime. Pushing himself any further would be detrimental to his health.

He nodded awkwardly before stepping aside.

The two men immediately began unloading the grain.

They moved much faster than Nicholas had been able to.

One carried the sacks while the other helped organize them near the entrance of the merchant guild.

Neither complained or stopped to rest. To be honest, they didn’t dare to with the scary knight watching over them.

They simply worked.

Osborne stood nearby and watched them. His arms remained crossed. His bearing similar to a supervisor’s.

The men became even more nervous under his gaze.

One of them accidentally dropped a sack.

He immediately picked it up again.

"Sorry."

Osborne said nothing.

The man swallowed.

They continued.

Before long, all of the grain had been unloaded.

The two men wiped the sweat from their foreheads before looking toward Osborne.

Neither wanted to remain there any longer than necessary.

One of them quickly turned around.

"We’ll get the payment."

The other nodded.

The two men then hurried into the merchant guild.

A few minutes later, the two men returned with a pouch of coins.

They approached Osborne carefully before placing the pouch in front of him.

"Here is the payment for the grain."

Osborne looked down at the pouch.

One of the men shifted nervously.

"It’s all there, Sir Knight, so there is no need to count it."

Osborne slowly looked at him.

The man immediately became uncomfortable.

"I-I mean, you can count it if you want, of course."

Osborne ignored him.

Instead, he picked up the pouch then handed it to Nicholas.

The old man looked surprised.

"Me?"

Osborne nodded.

Nicholas hesitated before opening the pouch.

He carefully counted the coins inside.

The two men watched him nervously.

After finishing, Nicholas looked toward Osborne.

"It’s all here."

Osborne nodded.

Only then did the cold air around him disperse.

The two men seemed relieved.

They immediately stepped backward.

"Thank you for your business, Sir Knight."

The other man nodded quickly.

"Please come again if you need anything."

Osborne didn’t respond.

The two men exchanged a glance before quickly walking away.

Nicholas watched them disappear into the guild before climbing onto the driver’s seat.

Osborne climbed into the back of the wagon again.

Once he was seated comfortably, Nicholas grabbed the reins.

The wagon slowly began moving away from the merchant guild.

Osborne had expected the journey to continue as usual, but Nicholas suddenly reached behind him and held out the pouch of coins.

"Here, Sir Knight."

Osborne looked at the pouch.

He didn’t take it immediately.

Nicholas turned around slightly.

"This belongs to you."

Osborne looked confused.

Nicholas smiled.

"I already collected my own payment inside the guild, so this is your share."

Osborne stared at the pouch.

Nicholas continued explaining.

"They promised to pay the other half of the payment the moment they inspected the goods and confirmed everything was there, and since you helped me unload everything, I think you should have this."
