[FROLO]

"Senator Aleksandr?" Katya asked again when his friends just looked at him as if they weren’t sure what Katya was about.

It was tedious enough a day seeing the way they were here and what they were doing.

But no one was counting just yet, right?

"Oh, you poor sweet thing," Svet sighed exaggeratedly.

And Andre, seeing the confusion on Katya’s face grow, spoke.

"She means the devil obsessed with you," Andre said flatly, like he could not believe that this was what they had been reduced to.

It was almost diabolical on different scales, but then there was no devil obsessed with Katya, or was there?

"I don’t understand," Katya said in earnest.

The only other person he knew they could call the devil was Sergei.

But Sergei Moskowsky was not obsessed with Katya.

Sergei owned Katya.

Katya was his property despite the fact that Sergei had tried too many times to tell him that the opposite was true.

It was always that simple, and his friends knew that too.

"Sergei Vladimirovich Moskowsky," Svet said, swinging the papers in her hands like that right there was the aspect of life they’d been surprised by.

But fate was always that crude, right?

Katya just laughed at the insinuation.

Because it made absolutely no sense.

It was the farthest thing from reality in the history of assumptions.

Honestly, it was kind of weird that shit had just escalated like that. But still, there had to be another reason, right?

"Right... my jailer. Just great. What clauses did he add that I should be ready for this time then?" Katya asked briefly.

He was already tired of being tired, and if he let himself be exhausted by the darn family more than once, he would never have peace.

Yet again, peace wasn’t exactly part of whatever the fuck he was bargaining for right now.

His heart was already broken into a thousand pieces, and Katya was slowly getting numb to it all.

The concept of freedom, of anything other than his crazy friends being on his side, was just something that he would not bite into.

It was not real.

It could ever be.

At least not for him anyway.

"None," Andre said, making Katya lift his head to stare at his friend correctly.

The omega had been staring around the room with the chaos in the form of papers in the lounge, but right now, hearing Andre say that, was like something that was not real.

It was too far-fetched.

Impossible in every way.

"What?" Katya asked, like that was supposed to make things change.

But what were the odds that this was one that could never change then?

"The first contract and the second contract terms are the same. Word for word. Comma for comma. The only difference is the color of the damn papers; your name being added in the second one;

"... and a clause that triggers a failsafe if everyone tries to hurt you for having three names despite being an omega," Svet said, like she too couldn’t believe what she had just read.

Sergei Moskowsky was the devil himself.

For months, they had seen what the man had done to Katya.

How he had ruined his life.

They had been there.

But now...

What the fuck was going on?

"Hold on. You’re speaking too fast. What do you mean they are the same?" Katya asked, like that was impossible.

And honestly, it was supposed to be.

For months, Katya had stayed in the darn faux marriage, horrified as fuck.

He had gone to sleep late because he had to pay his dues and make sure there was nothing that could make the Moskowskys hate him enough to hurt his mother and father.

There was just no way that that was about to be fucked over. He hadn’t spent so much time working hard only for a sheet of paper to dismiss it.

"I mean, you are Katya Romanov, son of Masha Romanova, yeah? And you are also Katya Romanov, the son of Romanov. That is the same thing with these two contracts, at least the noticeable ones.

"The only key difference is the paper color. The first is white, the other one is grey," Svetlana said, and Katya stepped forward, grabbing the papers to see for himself.

There was just no way.

He had read the first contract during his stay at Aslava hospital, and there had been overly ridiculous clauses that made the barbarian seem like a man who was just playing games with him.

Frankly, even that was what Katya believed.

But for him to sign a second contract with the same clauses made no sense.

"Impossible," Katya said as he stared at the papers right in his hands.

Then again, so many impossible things had happened in his life since Sergei became a passive aggressor in his life, no?

"No one in their right mind does this for a person if they don’t expect anything," Katya said tiredly, like he was expecting more. But then again, he couldn’t be blamed.

His history with the Moskowskys wasn’t exactly the kindest.

"He really married you..." Svet began, the disbelief in her tone making Katya wonder if this was another simulation.

But then there were only so many times he could hide behind the possibility that all this was a hoax for him, right?

"Gave you everything except what is in Vitya’s name..." Andre added, like the facts had always been there, and Kata had only never read them.

That was believable, though.

The Vitya mentions.

Because Kata and everyone in Frolo knew better than to mess with anything that related to Vitya Moskowsky. That man had been the centre of Sergei’s world.

And even in Vitya’s death, Sergei had remained loyal to him.

To his love.

For thirty years, the city of Frolo had seen the barbarian be different whenever Vitya was mentioned, and for those years, they had learned the hard way that anything that involved Vitya was sacred.

Vitya Moskowsky had been the love of Sergei’s life.

They all knew it.

"Then disappeared like he didn’t just give his entire life’s work away?"

"No... He is Sergei Moskowsky..."
