Chapter 333: Chapter 210: Lu Fan’s Three-Fronts Advance Swiftly! Jiang Sifan Begins to Forgive?
Old Luo led Jiang Sifan and Wen Wan out of the room and continued down the hallway.
"Young Master, Miss Wen, let’s go see the other areas," Old Luo said with a smile. "There’s an indoor basketball court not far from here. The Boss had it built especially for you."
Although Jiang Sifan already knew, he was still shocked.
That complicated feeling washed over him again.
The group went downstairs and through a glass door, and the space before them suddenly opened up.
It was a standard-sized basketball court. The floor, polished to a shine, gave off a soft gleam.
Scoreboards and timers hung on the surrounding walls, and a few basketball shooting machines were placed in the corner.
Rows of professional lights lined the ceiling, illuminating the entire court as bright as day.
Jiang Sifan stood courtside, staring at the court, speechless for a long moment.
Wen Wan stared in awe as well, whispering, "It’s so big..."
Old Luo explained from the side, "The court is regulation size, and the flooring is NBA-grade. The Boss said that if you enjoy playing, you can invite your friends over. There are locker rooms and showers over here, all ready for use."
Jiang Sifan slowly walked onto the court. As he stepped onto the floor, he felt the perfect amount of give under his feet. It was truly professional-grade.
He suddenly remembered his childhood, playing ball with his classmates on the school’s dilapidated court. The ground had been uneven and full of potholes, and even the hoop was crooked.
Back then, he’d thought, ’When I’m rich someday, I’m definitely going to play on a real basketball court at least once.’
Now, he had his very own basketball court.
Wen Wan watched him from the sidelines and said softly, "Class President, you can come play ball here often now."
Jiang Sifan nodded but said nothing.
Next, Old Luo took them to see the swimming pool.
He pushed open another glass door, and a wave of warm, humid air washed over them.
It was an indoor, temperature-controlled swimming pool. The surface of the water was as still as a mirror, glowing with a faint blue light under the lamps.
A row of lounge chairs, a towel rack, and a water dispenser were arranged poolside.
Wen Wan stood by the edge of the pool, her eyes wide with amazement.
Jiang Sifan saw her expression and couldn’t help but laugh. "Didn’t you always want to see a swimming pool this big? Well, now you have."
Wen Wan froze for a moment, then her face instantly flushed red.
She lowered her head and mumbled, "I... I was just making small talk..."
Jiang Sifan chuckled. "It’s nice when things you say offhand can come true, isn’t it?"
Wen Wan didn’t answer. She just stared at the water, her eyes a mixture of envy and something else.
She had grown up in a small mountain village. While her family wasn’t destitute, they didn’t have much in the way of surplus furniture.
The kids in her village all swam in the river; she had never seen such a beautiful indoor swimming pool.
She stole a glance at Jiang Sifan.
’This is Uncle Lu’s home, which means it’s his father’s home.’
’This is his home, too.’
A complex feeling suddenly welled up inside Wen Wan.
’She knew she and Jiang Sifan were different.’
’He was Lu Fan’s son, a boy from a wealthy family.’
’And she was just an ordinary girl from a small mountain village.’
’The gap between them seemed to be growing wider and wider.’
She lowered her head, not wanting Jiang Sifan to see the disappointment in her eyes...
After touring the swimming pool, Old Luo led them to see a few other places.
The gym, the home theater, the game room—every space was so luxurious it left Jiang Sifan and Wen Wan amazed.
Finally, Old Luo led them to a door.
"Young Master, this is the Boss’s collection room." Old Luo pushed the door open and stepped aside to let them pass.
Jiang Sifan and Wen Wan walked in to find a room that wasn’t very large, lined with display cabinets.
The display cabinets held all sorts of items: trophies, certificates, and some objects that looked quite old.
Jiang Sifan examined the items with curiosity.
Old Luo followed them in and explained, "These are some of the things the Boss has collected over the years. There are awards from when he first started his business, and some other items with sentimental value."
He pointed to one of the display cases. "In this cabinet are photos from when the Boss first started his business."
Jiang Sifan walked over to look at the photos.
In the photos, Lu Fan looked much younger than he did now. He was wearing a simple white shirt, standing at the entrance of a dilapidated office with a brilliant smile.
A few other people stood beside him, looking like his first employees.
Old Luo added from the side, "That was when the Boss had just left his previous company to strike out on his own. He rented a tiny office, just about ten square meters. This photo was taken back then."
Jiang Sifan stared at the photo, feeling a stir in his heart.
’He’d never imagined that the man who now lived in such a grand estate had also gone through such difficult times.’
His gaze shifted to the side.
In another frame was a photo of a couple.
Lu Fan stood there, and beside him was a woman with a gentle smile.
Jiang Sifan froze.
’That was his mother.’
’Jiang Yixia.’
’She looked so young back then, no older than eighteen.’
’She was wearing a white dress, her hair loose, her face bearing a shy yet blissful smile.’
Jiang Sifan stared at the photograph for a long, long time.
’Mom was so beautiful back then.’
’As beautiful as someone out of a painting.’
Old Luo said softly from the side, "That’s a photo of the Boss and the Madam when they were young. They had just gotten together back then and were very much in love."
Jiang Sifan said nothing, merely gazing at the photo, suddenly feeling a wave of emotion.
’Mom is still beautiful now.’
’She bears the traces of the years now, the weariness from a life of hard work.’
’But that didn’t diminish her image in his eyes in the slightest.’
