Chapter 331: Chapter 209: These Are All Mine? Jiang Sifan is Touched
Jiang Sifan froze for a moment when he heard that.
That’s right, Lu Fan wasn’t here.
’Why am I so nervous?’
He looked over at Wen Wan. She was holding her milk tea, her lips pursed as she took small, slow sips, looking like she was enjoying herself.
He took a deep breath, trying to relax.
Just then, Old Luo’s phone rang.
He took it out, and his expression immediately turned respectful. He stepped aside to answer the call, speaking a few words in a low voice.
Jiang Sifan vaguely overheard him say things like "The young master is here," "Okay," and "I understand."
After hanging up, Old Luo walked back over and said to Jiang Sifan, "Young Master, that was the boss just now."
Jiang Sifan froze again, asking nervously, "What did he say?"
"The boss said he’s coming back from Yangcheng right away and asked you to wait for him," Old Luo replied with a smile.
Hearing this, Jiang Sifan shot to his feet, waving his hands dismissively. "No, no, that’s not necessary. He’s so busy, don’t have him make a special trip. I just came to take a look, it’s nothing important. I can come back another day."
But Old Luo persuaded him, "Young Master, it’s rare for you to visit. The boss definitely wants to see you. Besides, he’s already on his way. Please, just wait."
Jiang Sifan was in a bit of a predicament.
He had originally wanted to thank him in person.
But when he saw that Lu Fan wasn’t here, he figured he would just take a quick look around the manor and leave.
Now that Lu Fan was making a special trip back, he suddenly didn’t know how he was going to face him.
Wen Wan whispered from the side, "Class Monitor, why don’t we... just wait? We’re already here, after all."
Jiang Sifan hesitated for a moment before finally sitting back down.
Old Luo smiled and suggested, "Young Master, you’re just idly waiting here. Why don’t I give you a tour? Your room... the Young Miss saw it when she visited last time, but you haven’t seen it yet."
At this, Jiang Sifan quickly shook his head. "No need, I’m fine just sitting here."
"You should take a look. The boss had it specially prepared for you. The Young Miss said the room is gorgeous. Don’t you want to see it?" Old Luo urged.
Jiang Sifan hesitated, but still shook his head.
Wen Wan knew that deep down, Jiang Sifan wanted to go; he just couldn’t get over his awkwardness.
She said softly, "Class Monitor, why don’t we go have a look... I’m curious what it’s like, too."
Jiang Sifan glanced at her, then at Old Luo’s expectant gaze, and finally nodded.
"Alright, let’s go have a look then."
Old Luo led them to the second floor and down a hallway laid with a thick carpet.
The walls of the hallway were lined with paintings—some of landscapes, some of people. Jiang Sifan couldn’t understand them, but they looked very expensive.
It gave him the feeling of "one for the Forbidden City, and one for me."
Warm, yellow sconces were embedded in the walls, bathing the entire hallway in a cozy and elegant light.
They stopped in front of a dark wooden door.
"Young Master, this is your room." He pushed the door open and stepped aside.
Jiang Sifan took a deep breath and walked in.
And then, he froze completely.
It was a huge room, even bigger than he had imagined.
Sunlight poured in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, spreading a warm patch of light across the floor.
Outside the window, he could see the manor’s lawn and the mountains in the distance. The open view was breathtakingly refreshing.
The room’s main color scheme was deep blue and gray—calm and sophisticated.
On the wall directly facing the bed hung a gigantic poster.
It wasn’t just a regular print; it was professionally framed. It captured the moment Owen was mid-air for a layup, his gaze sharp, his form graceful and extended.
The image was so powerful, it felt as if Owen might burst out of the frame at any second.
Beside it was another poster of Kobe driving past a defender, full of dynamic energy. Kobe’s eyes were focused, his body twisted at an unbelievable angle. Just looking at it was enough to get one’s blood pumping.
Jiang Sifan stood in front of the two posters for a long time.
He had loved Kobe since he was a kid—loved his Mamba Mentality, loved his refusal to ever give up.
Later, when Owen appeared on the scene, he was captivated by his flashy yet practical skills.
These two posters weren’t just ordinary shots of them shooting; they captured moments that best represented the spirit of these two stars.
He suddenly felt that whoever had prepared all this must understand him very well.
Old Luo explained from the side, "The boss specifically hired a designer for this. He said he couldn’t just hang up any random posters; they had to embody the spirit of the players. The designer chose over a dozen images, and the boss finalized these two."
Jiang Sifan didn’t say anything, just kept staring at the posters.
His gaze shifted to the side.
On a display rack by the wall sat several pairs of basketball shoes.
He recognized the shoes. They were all limited-edition models—some were Kobe’s, some were Owen’s, and a few were collaborations. He had only ever seen pictures of them online, never the real thing.
One of them, a pair of Kobe’s in a black and gold colorway, he had once tried and failed to snag on the official website.
He later saw it on the secondary market, where the price had been driven up to over ten thousand, far more than he was willing to spend.
Now, that very pair of shoes was right in front of him.
He walked over, squatted down, and gently picked up the shoes.
The leather was soft, the craftsmanship exquisite. They felt heavy in his hands.
Kobe’s signature logo was embroidered on the tongue, and there was an exclusive serial number on the insole.
Old Luo came over and explained softly, "The boss had people collect all of these. He didn’t know which pair you’d like specifically, so he just bought all the ones he could find. This black and gold pair—he had to go through three different channels to acquire it."
Jiang Sifan said nothing and put the shoes down.
Next to it was a transparent display case containing several basketballs.
He looked closer and saw that the basketballs were all signed.
Kobe, Owen, Durant, and so on.
