Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension
Chapter 469 - 467:Demeanor.
Chapter 469: Chapter 467:Demeanor.
"You can stand, dear disciple," the woman replied, satisfaction coloring her voice.
"I’m sorry for my lack of gifts, I hadn’t planned on taking a disciple during this trip, since we have other places and worlds to be at after here, but be assured, once we return to the sect, I shall hold a proper discipleship ceremony and give you something worthy of your status."
"I am honored by master’s thoughtfulness. I shall look forward to it." Like a true champ, he replied, neither haughty nor servile.
I could see satisfaction in the eyes of the woman, and I couldn’t help but wonder if this master-disciple story will play out as many others have? With the master that hadn’t intended for it to happen becoming impressed with the hard work of the young man, his determination and grit, and the way he cared for others, thus leading to her losing the faint ill intent in her heart and deciding to help him out instead, leading to some cockamamie attraction that ends with him adding her as the first, or probably second, member to his harem.
"Boy... what the hell are you on about? All this nonsense from a simple interaction between the two?" Shaia asked, dumbfounded.
"Hey! I’m just going through the multiple scenarios this shit might play out in."
"What if it’s none of those?" Sana asked, still adamant about this not playing out like a cultivation world scenario.
"Then it’s not. It’s not like I’m losing anything from it. So long as I get to put my hands on those Caldera bastards at the end of it all, I don’t really care either way." I shrugged off in reply.
After all, had it not been for the fact that I was trying to just live out a fun adventure of experiencing a true cultivation world, we would have already done things the way Malachi had said earlier.
Go in guns blazing. Raze the place. Take what we want. I devour the entire high planar galaxies, get stronger, go fuck up the Calderans, then begin investigating the abyss—and speaking of the abyss,
"I wonder if they have gates here? Sana..."
"I’ll check it out, humph, lazy bum!"
"Thank you, my love."
"Who’s your love!? You fucking prick!! Call me that again and watch me pluck out your eyes!!"
I ignored the fuming spirit as my attention returned to the events at hand, just in time too, as,
"What about you, young lady?" The woman shifted her sights to Nyssara, who was still trying to wrap her head around the absurdity of the situation.
On one hand, you have a woman that knew nothing, absolutely nothing, about either of them, wanting to take both as her personal disciples to train and impart her legacy onto.
Then on the other hand, you have the young man who knows absolutely nothing about the woman. Whether she had ill intent or not. Whether she was an evil person parading as a nice person. He had no idea, yet he readily accepted her as master? Kneeling and bowing and acting like it was all normal?
I could see the gears shifting madly in her head as she tried to make sense of the situation, but unfortunately,
"Cultivation worlds don’t run on logic, my dear." And if things played out even as half a cultivation novel would, then the nonsensical things to come would only get worse.
"Me?" Nyssara asked, finally snapping out of her thoughts.
"Yes. Mind telling me your name?"
"Oh... I’m Nyssara Varellis, daughter of the conqueror, Durmont Varellis, emperor of Aetheris Prime." She introduced herself in that same grandiose manner someone used to power and command would.
A hint of displeasure flashed past the woman’s gaze as the subservient and respectful demeanor she was expecting hadn’t been shown to her.
"I see... I do not think I’m familiar with that name." She pushed down her displeasure as she replied faintly.
"I would be surprised if you were; after all, I am not from anywhere around here," Nyssara replied curtly.
"Oh? An outsider?" The woman’s brows jumped in mild surprise.
"Yes."
"But, you have a martial spirit, how is that possible?"
"There are a myriad of things even stranger than someone having the bloodline of people not from her region, I would say. My situation is quite normal compared to those."
"Ooohhh... she’s going hard on this one, wow!" Shaia commented in awe.
"No wonder those Aetherians like her. I’m starting to like her myself. I see clearly why husband wants to claim her too." Even Terra was impressed.
"Meh! I could do that even better, humph!" It would seem only Elira had some issues with what was playing out.
"Hehehehe... jealous are we?"
"Of course! Master should come spend some time with me. Preferably within private quarters to soothe my jealous soul, fufufufu..."
""Shameless."" Both Shaia and Terra chirped together.
"The master is a shameless man-whore, it’s only right that his soul weapon replicates the same," Sana sneered.
"And that’s why I agree with sister Terra that you’re a petty woman jealous of women with proper breasts and heavy bodies." Elira seemed to have picked up a bad habit from Terra.
"You fucking..." Sana held off her cussing as it seemed something else was bugging her even more because,
"Damn! Is this the same woman that was blushing and melting in this bastard’s arms? What the hell is this staunch and unyielding persona all of a sudden?" Her voice was confusion incarnate as she seemed unable to believe what she was seeing, and I couldn’t blame any of them for their reactions.
Nyssara seemed unwilling to give this woman any leeway whatsoever as she replied word for word to whatever the woman asked.
And she did so in a tone that made it clear she believed herself to not be in any way lesser than this woman, and that, in turn, annoyed the veiled woman greatly as I could see her brows crease together in displeasure.
"Then I guess I can only say to each her own; after all, everyone is entitled to his or her own secrets and choices." The woman still tried to maintain the bigger person demeanor, but,
"It’s not a secret. I just told you everything plainly, you merely refuse to accept the truth for what it is, and that, Lady Luo, is not my fault."
Nyssara was really making it difficult for me to not jump her, ’cause tell me why she’s looking real appealing right now? Would it be a bad time to cash in the check from our bet?
""""YES!!""""
"Tch!"
The woman, Lin Luo Yao’s face contorted in anger at Nyssara’s words.
For someone of her standing, to face another person that didn’t grovel at your feet—not only that, but one that had the audacity to answer you back with words that implied you were shortsighted or plain stupid.
I could imagine for someone like her, that would be the epitome of blasphemy, but then, I watched another classic genre behavior click in as the woman forced down her displeasure, because yes, she was upset. Yes, she was enraged, but, cultivation logic states that, "the elder must not act out and ruin their reputation, but instead force down that frustration and plot against the offender in some over-the-top methods that are bound to fail," and sure enough,
"Fufufufu... then I guess I was the one at fault, my apologies." The woman went right according to script.
"It is nothing of a fault, Lady Luo; it is merely the state of affairs." Admittedly, Nyssara herself had probably never thought of her replies as things that were offensive or disrespectful by any means, so she was immediately ready to accept and give the woman a way out.
"So, what do you say? Are you willing to accept my offer?" The woman, even after everything, still seemed interested in taking Nyssara in as her personal disciple, but,
"I’m sorry, Lady Luo, but I have no intentions of serving under any master, please forgive me for I will have to decline."
As expected. For a woman that had clearly been against the very notion of the scenario even playing out in the first place, expecting her to accept the offer would be quite dumb.
"I see. That is quite alright." The woman merely waved off Nyssara’s rejection as she turned to the white-robed registrar, "Little Shen, I have interrupted your event, I hope you can forgive me."
"Nonsense. Lady Luo has interrupted nothing. It is instead our greatest merit that you have dared to grace us with your magnificent presence."
"Ughh... fuck! The ass-kissing. I think I’ll puke." It really was too hard to take sometimes.
"Fufufufu... then I’m gladdened." Ego properly soothed, the woman turned towards her new disciple, "Lin Tian, come. Let us go. We have much to discuss." Done with her words, her figure began levitating as the black-haired youth followed behind her, arms in his sleeves.
I watched the group of four ascend until they reached high beyond the clouds and then,
Gone!
Their figures vanished from the spot like they were never there.
"Heh! Looks like we’ll be having some guests real soon." A small, predatory grin curled at the edges of my lips as I couldn’t help but think in amusement.
The entire time the group had been ascending, the gazes of both the woman and the crimson-robed middle-aged man had been unflinchingly locked onto Leo’s figure.
I didn’t need to be a mind reader to understand what that look meant, but it was fine, after all,
"We need a bit of excitement ourselves, do we not? Heh!"
Done with my thoughts, I wrapped my arms around the lithe waist of the blue-skinned princess as all her bravado collapsed instantly.
"Wha... what are... what are you doing?"
"Eyy? Did you forget? You’ll be at my mercy for the rest of the day, that was our bet, so better be ready, I can be pretty handsy with pretty people."
"But... but... we’re in public... people are watching..." Her face had reddened from the embarrassment, all traces of the staunch and unflinching princess, gone.
"Then let them watch, hehehehe... nothing to bless their day more than a beautiful man and woman sharing an intimate time together." I laughed, ignoring the embarrassed beauty as I walked away with her in my arms.
The others fell swiftly behind me as we made our way back towards the Serendipity Inn, all the while wondering when the excitement was going to come knocking on our doors.
"Heh! I hope you don’t disappoint me, Lin family."

A/N: Haa... well, at least this one was abit better to write. Man, if I don’t come out of this ready to write a cultivation novel someday, I’m suing all y’all’s asses(just kidding) no I’m not! Anyways,
