Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension
Chapter 470 - 468:'Yo!'
Chapter 470: Chapter 468:“Yo!”
"Man, I miss Mira." I couldn’t help but groan as I took a bite from the food before me. One the inn had offered as "room service". It tasted plain. Not bad per se, but compared to the food Mira had spoiled me with? It felt like I was tasting dirt.
"I’m... I’m sorry. I don’t really know how to cook." Nyssara’s tiny voice replied from opposite me as the blue-skinned woman tried not to be too embarrassed by her own words.
"Hmm? Oh, don’t worry about that, hahahaha... None of my women know how to cook either. Mira and Clarissa are just exceptions. I was just thinking out loud is all, don’t mind me."
"Oh? Really? I thought..."
"That all those women you saw me with could cook? Fat chance. Don’t tell them I said this, but Kaila is only interested in causing chaos, and probably has thoughts of assaulting me sexually one of these days.
Khalifa is an airheaded exhibitionist whose only talent is finding progressively non-existent clothing and trying them on.
Melissa is your typical ’I’m a queen, you don’t expect me to sully my hands with cookware, do you?’ type of person.
Liz is just, well, she’s Liz. Unbelievably adorable, yet also unbelievably clueless, though her cluelessness also makes her quite cute. And when she swoons, I swoon too.
Aunt K? Let’s not even talk about her. I’m pretty sure if I was going to be assaulted sexually, she would beat Kaila to the punch in a heartbeat.
As for Hope, I’m not that close with the demoness. She’s just the little man’s sister, so whether or not she can cook is beyond me."
"Pfft... Hehehehehehehehe..." The princess finally seemed unable to hold in her laughter as she let it loose, her voice tingling like beautiful bell calls through the room we were in.
"So... sorry. It’s just, why did you keep looking around and whispering like you were afraid of the women appearing before you?" she asked, trying to stifle her laughter.
"Well, you never know what can happen. Some of those women are quite the spectacle." I shrugged, going back to poking my meal like it had offended me.
"What about your planet wife? I’m sure as a planet’s consciousness, cooking should be a trifling thing."
"Now that you mention it..." My eyes couldn’t help but light up as I asked internally,
"Terra?"
"Of course I can cook. I wager I cook better than Clarissa and Mira combined, humph!" The woman seemed upset that I’d even dared ask such a thing.
"Oh, my lovely and beautiful wife. Please come save your husband from the horrors of this plain meal they dared call a spiritual meal."
"Sorry, husband, I can’t."
"What!? Why??"
"Little Lucien is still asleep. I can’t leave him alone."
"You... you’re leaving me for another man?" A sudden feeling of loneliness and sadness fell upon me as I slumped into my seat.
"Don’t... don’t be ridiculous, husband. I’m just watching over the child... It’s nothing like that... Husband! Husband!"
"Ahh... what’s the point? Life is nothing but a canvas of grey, no hope, no future. It’s all nonsense that ends with your wife deciding she’ll be taking another husband while you die of malnutrition, haaa... such a cruel world."
"Husband!! Stop that!! Sis... Sister Shaia, do something!"
"Nah... let him be. I’m sure he’ll snap out of it soon enough, or better yet..." I could hear Shaia’s mischievous voice bouncing through my mind, but I had no time to pay it any heed, not with the light I was currently seeing up ahead. It was time to leave this cruel world—or at least, that’s what I thought until,
"Dan... Dante?" The image of Shaia in nothing but her birthday suit appeared before my mental eyes, and like a shot of dopamine,
"DAMN!!!" I was up and ready to go...
Such a view was one nothing could truly keep me from appreciating.
"Pfft... Hahahahahahaha!!" The girls all burst out laughing at my expense.
"Haha... very funny."
"I guess I can start making my list of how to wake a dying pervert up. Number one: appear naked before him." Sana.
"Jokes on you. I would absolutely love that."
The group merely laughed as the mood relaxed.
I had already shoved the unappetizing meal aside as I lifted the princess up and placed her firmly on my lap, appreciating the absolute softness of her voluptuous ass.
"Dan... Dante..."
"Let’s not act like we both don’t know how all this is going to end, princess, so you might as well start getting comfortable."
"But..."
"Hahahahaha... Don’t worry, I’m not shameless enough to use my win to do something like that, but I am shameless enough to use it and take some free liberties like this." I wrapped my arms around her waist, pulling her closer into my embrace as her evidently smaller frame got lost within my broader frame, planting my hands in a dangerous position under her massive peaks, head resting on her head of white hair, eyes closed in comfort.
The room fell silent as our breathing slowly got into sync, the mood becoming more intimate as her tension began slowly easing, her body relaxing into mine.
It was the perfect moment. Absolute peace, but unfortunately,
"Hmmm?" I couldn’t help my brows twitching as my connection to the atmosphere was suddenly tampered with. I could feel a strange force suddenly cutting off the entire inn we were in from the outside world, placing us within a separate, locked-down space.
"Dante..." Leo’s voice echoed through my head as multiple presences brushed past my dormant senses.
"I know." The guests I’d been expecting had finally showed up.
"I can’t believe it really did happen like the bastard had said." Sana was becoming increasingly frustrated about the fact that events were conforming to my expectations.
"Better get used to it, my dear." I laughed as I opened my eyes, head still resting on Nyssara’s head.
"We have guests."
"Hmm... can I come?"
"It’s going to be pretty gruesome." My bloodthirsty smile couldn’t be suppressed anymore, as it had been quite some time since I’d tapped into that part of me. Luckily,
"I can do gruesome." Nyssara seemed pretty aligned with my tendencies.
"Alright, I guess we’ll see about that, won’t we?" I smiled, standing up and placing her on the floor.
The black silk nightgown she had been wearing slowly transformed into her blue-gold battle armor that somehow made her look even more seductive and elegant at the same time.
"Deadly, smart, and beautiful. The perfect combination. I like my taste quite well." Of course the situation wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t give out a statement of approval.
"Alright then, shall we?" I stretched forward my hand, intention clear.
"Let’s shall." My smile widened at her words, and so, clasping my hand over hers, spatial displacement placed us directly behind...
....
"Lord Baili, the formation is up. Space has been permanently locked down. No one is escaping from that place." A man in black robes reported to the crimson-robed man at the very front.
"Hmm. Get yourselves ready." The man answered, not taking his gaze from the prestigious inn a small distance away.
It was the same man that had appeared alongside the woman, Lin Luo Yao: Lin Baili.
"But, Lord Baili, is all this necessary? Do we really need this many people to capture a few youths?"
BANG!!!
A fist connected with the midsection of the man that had dared ask that question as,
BOOOOM!!! He was instantly reduced to blood mist.
"You dare to question the orders of Lady Luo?" Lin Baili grated as he waved away the blood on his fist. "For the fact that you don’t even understand the severity and seriousness of the situation, it shows clearly that you’re incapable. Be glad I made your death quick." The man scoffed, turning his gaze back toward the inn in the distance.
"It seems Lord Baili is in an irritable mood." The others behind the man began getting ready as they conversed in hushed voices.
"I know, right? But to think there’s an actual living griffon that still dares to openly walk around under the gaze of the galaxy’s authorities." One of the minions whispered.
"I’m just surprised griffons still even existed. I thought the family had harvested them all long ago." Another one chimed in.
"Are you dumb? Do you think it’s that easy to harvest a group of divine beasts so casually? You must be just as dumb as the last guy if you don’t even know the simple history of how the griffons were even chased out."
"What do you mean ’chased out?’"
"Heh... you didn’t know?" The minion stopped talking as he instead used voice transmission out of fear of what would happen should Lin Baili overhear their conversation. "Apparently, after having discovered that the Calderans had a method of turning these mythic and above beasts into martial spirits, the family had decided to turn their blades onto the Empyrean Gryphon Clan, intending on turning the whole divine beast clan into martial spirits for the family."
The group was now fully invested, never having heard of this particular Chapter of their family’s history before.
"They had succeeded. For the first two times, until the Alpha of the Gryphon clan, Aurelion Dareith, found his son being killed by an heir of the family, and then, all hell broke loose."
"The Empyrean Gryphon Clan declared war on the family and it was a massacre. That day, the entire high planar galaxies had mobilized to face off this one clan, yet they could do nothing against a clan of literal divine beasts, and with their Alpha at that time being a genuine cosmic beast on the cusp of ascension, the family had faced a dire period of panic; their very existence was on the line."
The shock running through the group was obvious. To think their family and the entire high planar galaxies had almost been undone by a single clan of divine beasts.
"Are the griffons really so terrifying?" one asked, still skeptical.
"You have no idea. It wasn’t until the family was on its last breath that they sought help from the founding ancestor. It was with his arrival and the subsequent assistance from a cosmic powerhouse from the true Caldera family that the griffons were finally forced back, the Alpha deciding to let it go with the payment of a life for a life. The current heir back then had to be sacrificed before Aurelion decided to call it quits, taking his entire clan and leaving for the Phoenix-Dragoverse."
"Damn... if this is what really happened, then what is the version we were all told?"
"Heh! You expect such a powerful family to admit to being unable to deal with ’insignificant beasts?’ Of course not. That’s why Lord Baili is being so cautious. After all, getting a griffon is an almost assured acquisition of a divine-grade spirit beast, and with Lady Luo’s disposition, I am sure she intends on fully requesting the Calderans’ help in transforming this beast into a martial spirit. But getting the beast in the first place is another task on its own, so I suggest you put away your skepticism and prepare yourselves, for if this griffon is anything like the ones from history, then this is going to be anything but simple." The minion concluded, about to take his leave when,
"Now, that was a very informative and interesting story. I wonder how I can repay you for such a good deed?" A calm and amused voice rang out through the hiding spot of the group.
The entire group was instantly alarmed as Baili turned around, coming face to face with a group of six people, at the head:
"Yo..." An incredibly tall and handsome white-haired young man with a teasing smile on his face.
"Fancy meeting you guys here, huh?"

A/N: Alright, I think I’m getting into the rythm now, hahaha.. anyways,
Ps: the "cosmic" and "divine" used to describe the beasts and powerhouses is NOT their power tier. It is their bloodline grades being used as markers. As for their true tier of strength, I’ll let your imagination work on it, but just know it’s more powerful than the current highest in the compendium.
