Chapter 276: Chapter 276: Stories

Neo stood on the wide stone balcony of the Genesis Palace. Below him, ten thousand star systems turned in a clear, endless sky. The stars glowed in perfect, unbroken circles. This was Multiverse Prime. It was not a conquered territory. It was the absolute reality he had built directly from his own essence.

His three wives stood beside him. Noir sat on a conjured throne of black glass, filing her nails with a shard of concentrated dark matter. Moon hovered a few inches above the stone floor, her eyes closed in deep meditation. Zestia leaned against the balcony railing, tapping her armored fingers against the white marble.

Lyra, Neo’s eldest daughter, stood closest to the gateway. She wore a simple silver dress that caught the starlight. She had helped him organize the foundational laws of this new realm, but today she was just a sister waiting for her family.

Today, the rest of Neo’s bloodline would finally join them.

The great archway behind them flashed with a brilliant golden light. The portal did not hum with magic. It did not tear through space. It simply opened because Neo willed it to open.

Three figures stepped through the archway. They stopped as the light faded, taking in their new surroundings.

Orion came first. He was Neo’s oldest son, a warrior who had fought on a hundred different battlefields in his past lives. He stood tall, his hand resting instinctively on the hilt of his massive broadsword. He looked around, his golden eyes scanning for threats.

Silas followed right behind him. Silas wore the heavy, layered robes of a grand scholar. His sleeves were covered in glowing tracking runes and mathematical formulas. He held a bronze calculation compass in his right hand. He immediately began tapping the runes on his arms, frowning deeply at the results.

Elara stepped out last. She was the youngest daughter. Her hair shifted colors like the twilight sky, moving from deep purple to soft pink. She did not look for threats. She did not calculate equations. She simply smiled, her eyes wide with pure wonder.

Neo smiled and opened his arms. "Welcome to the new world."

Orion relaxed his grip on his sword. He walked forward and embraced his father. Silas and Elara followed. For a long moment, the supreme ruler of existence was simply a father holding his children.

Neo stepped back and let his wives step forward.

Noir stood up from her throne of black glass. She walked over to Orion and poked his solid chest. "You are still so tense, boy. There are no enemies hiding in the clouds here. You can stop grinding your teeth."

"Old habits are hard to break, Noir," Orion replied. "My instincts tell me to prepare for an ambush. But my senses tell me that absolutely nothing in this realm can hurt me."

Zestia grinned. She walked up to Orion and slammed her gauntlet into his shoulder. The impact echoed loudly across the balcony. "Your senses are correct. The only thing that can hurt you here is me, and that is only if you forget how to block during our sparring sessions."

Moon floated over to Silas. She opened her silver eyes and looked at the scholar. "You are troubled, Silas. Your mind is racing too fast. Find your center."

Silas shook his head and tapped the bronze compass in his hand. The needles on the compass were spinning wildly in every direction. "I cannot find my center, Moon. My scanning arrays are completely failing. The math in this place does not work. When I look at Father, my tools register him as an infinite void. But at the exact same time, they register him as a dense mass of pure, overwhelming life. Those two states cannot exist simultaneously."

Elara laughed. She ran up to Lyra and hugged her older sister. "He does not look like a void, Silas. He just looks like Father."

Neo gestured for them to gather near the edge of the balcony. "It is good to see you all whole again. Silas, your math is failing because you are measuring the wrong thing. You are using tools designed for the old cosmos. You are not standing in a conquered universe."

Orion touched his sword hilt again. He looked down at the marble floor, then up at the turning stars. "If we are not in a universe, then where are we? Are we in a pocket dimension?"

"No," Neo said calmly. "You are standing inside my soul."

The balcony went completely silent. Even Zestia stopped tapping her fingers on the marble railing.

Silas dropped his bronze compass. It clattered against the stone floor. "Inside your soul? You mean this ground, these star systems, the air we are breathing..."

"All of it," Neo confirmed. "I assimilated the old Grand Reality into my core. I folded the outer dark and purified it. Everything you see here exists because I allow it to exist. Every law of physics functions only because I dictate its flow."

Silas grabbed his head with both hands. "That is scientifically impossible. Maintaining the structural integrity of ten thousand distinct life universes at the exact same time requires infinite processing power. The cognitive strain should instantly break your mind. The paradoxes alone should tear your consciousness to pieces."

"Watch," Neo said.

He held out his right hand. He did not chant a spell. He did not gather mana from the air. He did not use any magical circles.

A black speck appeared over his open palm. Within a single second, the speck expanded into a miniature spiral galaxy. Millions of tiny stars orbited a supermassive black hole in the center. The galaxy generated its own gravity. It generated its own heat. It was a perfect, functioning star system, suspended inches above Neo’s hand.

"Making matter is a basic skill," Neo explained. "Any high tier god from the old world could create a rock or a star. But true reality bending means breaking logic entirely."

Neo leaned forward and blew a gentle breath across the miniature galaxy.

The laws of physics inside the tiny star system changed immediately. Gravity stopped pulling inward. Instead, gravity pulled sideways. The planets began to orbit in square patterns instead of circles. Light stopped traveling in straight lines and bent into complex, physical floral patterns.

Silas leaned in close, his eyes wide with shock. "The blue stars are aging in reverse. The red giants are aging ten times faster. You are running completely different timelines in the exact same physical space without causing a temporal tear. How are the borders holding together?"

"Cause and effect work for me now," Neo said. "They do not restrict me. They are just tools in my shed."

Neo closed his fist. The galaxy vanished instantly, leaving no trace of energy or dust behind.

Neo turned his attention to his oldest son. "Orion. Draw your sword. I want you to strike my neck with everything you have."

Orion froze. He stared at his father. "Father, I cannot hit you."

Zestia laughed loudly. "Do it, boy! If you can manage to leave a scratch on him, I will forge you a new set of armor myself."

"Do it, Orion," Neo commanded softly. "Test the rules of this reality."

Orion gritted his teeth. He drew Ironbreaker from his back. The heavy broadsword immediately caught fire. The flames roared, carrying the heat of a dying sun. Orion stepped forward, planted his feet, and swung the heavy weapon directly at Neo’s exposed neck.

He did not hold back. The swing carried enough kinetic force to cut a mountain in half.

Neo did not block the strike. He did not conjure a magical shield. He did not dodge.

Instead, Neo targeted the concept of sharpness and the concept of impact. He changed them both to softness.

Three inches away from Neo’s skin, the roaring fire turned into thousands of pink flower petals. The indestructible steel of Ironbreaker bent like wet cloth around Neo’s neck. The massive kinetic force of the swing transformed into a mild, warm breeze that rustled Lyra’s hair.

Orion stumbled forward, holding a limp, useless hilt. He looked completely bewildered.

Neo reached up and tapped the bent metal. The sword immediately snapped back into a sharp, flaming blade. Orion quickly pulled it away and sheathed it.

"I did not block your attack," Neo explained. "I simply changed the rules of the attack. The universe rejected your strike because I redefined what the sword was right before it hit my skin. In this place, violence against me is an invalid mathematical statement."

Elara clapped her hands together in pure delight. She ran to the edge of the balcony and looked up at the clear sky. "If you can do all that, can you make the rain taste like sugar?"

"If you want that, yes," Neo said.

Neo looked up at the sky. He did not move his hands. Suddenly, a small, dark cloud formed directly over the balcony. A gentle rain began to fall.

Elara stuck her tongue out and caught a raindrop. Her eyes lit up. "It is sweet! It tastes exactly like honey and berries!"

Noir held out her hand and caught a few drops. She licked her fingers and smirked. "Not bad. A bit too sweet for my taste, but certainly a parlor trick worth keeping."

Moon simply smiled as the sugary rain washed over her pristine robes without leaving a single stain.

Neo waved his hand, and the cloud vanished. The sky returned to its perfect, clear state.
