Chapter 2067: The Plan

Chapter 2067: The Plan

The Black Executioner Havel escaped from the city, clutching his missing right hand. His heart was beating loudly. It had been so long, and he was so close to the death door. This might be the first time in the last hundred years. The first time, he had to run for his life.

He became even more uneasy because of the fact that the bleeding didn’t stop. His right hand was cut by the Fallen Angel. They managed to fish him out, but he was still confident in his own strength. He faced the Fallen Angel, and at the same time, the remaining two teams and his own team executed their plans.

They rushed toward Tang Shaoyang. Team 5 was the first one to attempt to assassinate the Executive Administrator. It went exactly as he expected, where ten summons blocked them, then more summons chased after them.

That was when Team 3 took their turns, and it ended up in the same result. More summons went after Team 3, and this was when he thought Tang Shaoyang would lower his guard.

His team, Team Black, purposely waited longer. They didn’t immediately strike Tang Shaoyang as they planned, making their target think there were no more assassins after him. That was when Tang Shaoyang lowered his guard, and they would strike for the kill.

That was what Havel imagined in his head while holding onto the Fallen Angel. He put himself as bait and gambled on his most elite team. That was when he realized that the attack that was supposed to kill Tang Shaoyang never came.

Team Black never came out of their hiding spot. The first thought that came into his mind, but he didn’t want to believe it. It was when he checked the Communication System and found out that he was the only one who was alive from Team Black.

His team was dead before the Fallen Angel attacked, and it was most likely she who was the culprit behind their death. Havel was angry that this Fallen Angel foiled his plan. He decided to kill her and brought her head back. At least, he would not return empty-handed. That was what he thought until he fought her.

The Space Manipulation, the Shadow Elemental Power, and combined with something he had only heard of from the Myth, the Death Power. That was when he discovered how laughable his idea was to bring her head with him.

Less than two minutes, that was how long the Fallen Angel needed to cut his right hand. That was when he made a decision, luring the Fallen Angel where his subordinates were fighting.

He used his subordinates as a shield and distracted the Fallen Angel before making his escape. Through his Shadow Elemental Power, he made a timely escape from the clutch of death itself. That was what happened to him, crushing his confidence thoroughly.

He could not help but glance at the city once more, ensuring that the Fallen Angel didn’t chase after him. In fact, it was weird that the Fallen Angel didn’t chase after him. For some reason, he felt the Fallen Angel might be able to chase him if she committed.

“Whatever…” He muttered while looking at the bleeding wound. The bleeding didn’t stop, and the worst part was that his flesh started to rot as well. His flesh wound slowly turned dark, and he thought it was poisoned. He chugged a Universal Antidote.

That was one of the renowned antidotes in the God Realm to help if one didn’t know what kind of poison they got. It didn’t cure the poison, but it would help to mitigate the effect of the poison. He chugged two vials only to find out that it didn’t help with the wound.

“It’s not a poison, but what is this?”

It could be a new poison, the reason why the Universal Antidote didn’t work. But he threw the thought away when he remembered Tang Shaoyang’s origin. There was no way someone from a new world could make something that was a more powerful poison than would render the Universal Antidote useless.

“This might be because of the Death Power… I need to meet a priest.” If what made his wound get worse was the Death Energy, then he needed someone who wielded Divine Power to get rid of that Death Energy.

Havel made his way back to where Remin’s camp was. It didn’t take him much time to return to the camp, and he easily found where the main camp was.

The guards recognized Havel and were surprised to see him losing a hand. They didn’t stop him, letting him barge into the camp.

Remin was still waiting for a report from the team they sent to the city and was surprised to see Havel enter the camp. He was even more surprised to see the missing hand.

“I need a priest! Is there a mercenary in the priest class?” He requested with a commanding tone, with an intense urgency.

Remin furrowed his brow, “There’s a priest in the part of our mercenary, but can you explain first what happens?”

“It can wait, but I need to heal my wound first!” Havel showed the wound.

Remin and the other eight people in the camp gasped in surprise to see the wound. It started to rot, and the worst part was that some part of the flesh was falling off.

“Call all our priests! We need them all!”

Despite having a disagreement with Havel, Remin put aside that disagreement. For Havel to return like this, they might be facing something scarier than they thought. He needed all the information and hands in this war.

All the God Rank Priests were brought to the main camp. As Havel suspected, it was Death Energy that affected his wound, not poison. It took 10 priests to get rid of the Death Energy from his system, as apparently that nasty thing had already entered his body. It took 2 more priests to patch him up.

“Now tell me what happened? We have sent around about 20 teams of scouts, but none returned or reported what they could find inside the city. What did you find inside the city?”

Remin asked in an authoritative tone, not going to accept no as an answer,

“You sent those people to their deaths. Not sure as to why they could not send a report back, but they are for sure dead,” Havel calmed down after getting patched up. He was relieved that his wound was healing while stretching up his newly regenerated right hand.

“Is he really that strong?” Remin looked at the new hand, thinking Tang Shaoyang was the one who cut that hand.

“He?” Havel laughed, shaking his head. But then he understood Remin’s perspective. Who would expect that his summons would be that strong? “I got to see him, but I didn’t get to fight him. The one who cut my hand was one of his summons, a Fallen Angel.”

“She killed my men, most of them with shadowy creatures that might be his summons as well,” He added with a somber tone, “I have to admit that this might be a war as you said. We need to use numbers to fight him!”

Havel was not ashamed to give the details of how everything went, how he was not able to execute the plan. He thought he was the hunter, but that was not the case. He was the prey and was hunted instead of hunting.

Remin was about to ask for more details until he received a communication. Not just him, the other eight people seemed to receive the same message as they looked at the message at the same time.

Havel saw the deep frown on Remin’s face. There was no need for him to guess what the message was. There must be something wrong happening in the city right now. He was not surprised if Tang Shaoyang burnt the city down.

“What’s wrong?” He still asked.

“We are being attacked! He attacked our force in the north!”
