Armipotent

Chapter 2066: Hunting

Chapter 2066: Hunting

Tang Shaoyang’s prediction was not wrong when the Shadow Star would assemble an army to take back the city. He could actually escape, returning to the God Realm’s Starter City, but he chose not to. He meant it when he said he would use the Shadow Star as an example for the remaining faction in the God Realm, let it be known what the consequences were of being his enemy.

After eight hours of waiting, the army came into his view. He saw them through the Chaos Eyes and immediately summoned his spirits again, except the one who died in their first fight.

“They are an assassin faction. There might be rats in the city. Clean them out!”

Tang Shaoyang expected the Shadow Star to send a few groups to scout the city. They were assassin factions, after all. For them to bring the army, meaning they had some inside information already.

“How many in total?” He muttered while looking at the army from the bird’s view, “Maybe a million?”

He was not scared when he mentioned a million; instead, there was excitement in his voice.

“Nah, I have seen where millions clash against millions, but this was still far from one million. But there should be a few hundred thousand army,” Karan also sounded excited.

“How are you going to do this?” Zara was not in the mood to play around. She was one of the few who opposed waiting for the Shadow Star’s army. The Shadow Star was not just the same factions they encountered on Earth or the Dimensional Tower.

“How about I take care of the one in the south by myself. I don’t mind going by myself, I can do whatever I want with no worry from hurting my weakling friends,” Karan had a crazed smile, and could not contain his excitement about the upcoming battle. Especially knowing he would not die even if they killed him, he felt he could go crazier.

Zara clicked her tongue at the red-skinned orc and added with Avyn’s glare, Karan looked away from the two women. He hadn’t fought them, but Zara seemed to be equal with him, and he couldn’t fathom how strong Avyn was. His instinct told him Avyn might be more powerful than him.

“It’s my specialist tactic. We will catch them by surprise…” He paused with a smile as he noticed the army stopped advancing, “After we get rid of the rats.”

Zara clicked her tongue, clearly didn’t like what she heard, “Then I will get rid of the rats for you.”

The Goddess of Death disappeared into her own shadow and disappeared, completely erasing her presence. Even Tang Shaoyang was surprised that he could not sense her despite their connection.

The Black Executioner Havel brought his trusted people and planned to end this silly fight. From his perspective, this was not a war. The one who attacked them was just one person and fewer than two hundred summons.

They could bring their elite to kill the Executive Administrator instead of bringing the army. In his mind, the Red Reaper Remin was trying to use this chance to rise to the Shadow Lord’s seat.

To be honest, he was surprised by how Geralt died. Geralt might do most of his work from behind his wooden table, but his reputation put up the Shadow Star in the God Realm. For someone like Geralt, no one should be able to surprise or catch him off guard.

Carter and Arthur mentioned that Geralt was caught when they arrived. There were not many details, but the fact is that Geralt lost his limbs and his body was frozen, except for his head.

“Whatever. I will kill this Executive Administrator and take the Shadow Lord’s seat.”

Havel arrived in the city with his people, seventy-five people who moved in seven different groups. They infiltrated the city ten minutes ago, and they had not seen the Skeleton Army or the summons that Carter and Arthur mentioned.

He felt like Remin was stupid, beyond stupid to take this as a war. Especially when they were assassin factions. They should finish this fight with their specialty, assassinating the invader. If Tang Shaoyang died, then those summons didn’t really matter, meaning he only needed the most powerful elite to do the task.

They were supposed to hunt this invader, whether he was an Executive Administrator or Emperor. It was supposed to be hunting, not a war. The more he thought about it, the more he was convinced Remin used this pretext to get ahead in the race of succession.

Havel would not let it happen and would assassinate Tang Shaoyang first. Even though he took every chance to humiliate Carter and Arthur, he took the information seriously. He kept reminding himself that he could not afford to underestimate his enemy.

“Pay extra attention. Carter and Arthur were forced to escape. His summons—”

Before he finished his words, he heard a scream through the established communication. The scream didn’t even last a second, but he heard it. He thought he was hearing things until he heard the third and fourth screams.

“Team 6 is be—”

The communication from Team 6 was cut off. Havel immediately opened the Communication System and found out that Team 6 had been wiped out. All members of Team 6 are gone from the list.

’How do they know about us? Or maybe Team 6 is being sloppy?’ He immediately denied the second assumption.

Havel brought the elite he had nurtured. Those who were sloppy were already dead by his dagger. These people were elite, even when they were compared to the elite of the Shadow Star.

It sucked to lose a team before executing their plan. Havel’s plan was to use the six teams to make the summons busy, and his team, with the other four, would go for the Executive Administrator. He planned to use his elite as bait. It was a shame to lose one bait, but he still had five more baits to use.

“Let’s continue with the plan. Report if you are all in position!”

There were seven teams, including his team: Team Black and Teams 1 to 6. He would use Team 1 to Team 6 as bait. They would attack first while Team Black was waiting for the chance to assassinate Tang Shaoyang.

“Team 5 is ready!” “Team 3 is ready!” “Team 1 is ready!”

Havel was waiting for two more reports, and he was being patient, waiting for an answer. He just checked that the remaining teams were still in the Communication System. There was no way for them to die so quickly.

Ten seconds passed, and the concerns started to grow inside him. He lost his patience and asked again, “Team 2? Team 4? Are you in position?”

Havel checked the Communication System and saw that those two teams had disappeared. That meant he only had three teams left. He could not back out after losing three teams. If he returned empty-handed, he would certainly lose the race to the Shadow Lord.

“We are still going even with just us! Let’s start!”

“I don’t think it’s wise to continue, Sir. We just lost to Team 1! We should retreat!”

Someone responded to his command, and it pissed him off that someone dared to counter his command.

“I agreed with Kocis, Sir. They managed to take down four teams in less than a minute. They are much stronger than we expected. We should retreat and regroup with the others!”

Kocis was Team 5’s leader, and the one who just responded was Team 3’s leader, Lenard.

Havel was about to snap at his subordinates until he sensed danger from behind him. That was the weirdest thing that happened to him because he was hiding in the shadows. There should be no one behind, but he could feel the immense danger.

He turned around and saw a blurry figure in the shadow. Then he saw the tip of something like a blade coming for his lower head, his chin. A pair of daggers appeared in his hand and blocked the incoming blade. He crossed the daggers at his lower chin.

Clank!

It made a clanking noise, and he felt the immense power from the strike. That attack sent him flying out of the shadow, forcefully pushing him out of the shadow. Tang Shaoyang was standing in the west wall, and he was hiding in the shadow of the building that was not far from the west wall.

He was sent to the air and immediately looked around, afraid that he was getting surrounded by the summons. This was not the plan. The plan was for his subordinates to try to assassinate Tang Shaoyang and draw the summon’s attention.

When those summons were busy with his subordinates, and Tang Shaoyang lowered his guard, that was when he would strike with his team. That never happened, and he was out of his hiding spot already. However, he found out that he was not surrounded; no one surrounded him or attacked him.

Then he looked down where he came out, and a Fallen Angel came out from the shadow. This was the first time he met with a six-pairs winged Fallen Angel. Those wings signified how strong a fallen angel was, but this was the first time he met with the six pairs of black-winged Fallen Angels.

“I guess it makes sense for Geralt to fall when he has something like this as a summon,” He muttered and put his focus on the Fallen Angel that slowly rose on the same level as him in the air.

“I guess I will have some fun while clearing out the rats. Your friends died in one strike, yet you survived. Let’s see how long you can survive.”
