Armed Train in the Apocalypse
Chapter 927 - 520: Striving to Patch the Sky (Part 5)
A Tier Three Evolver leading the team to deal with a few stray Evolution Wolves already seems like using a cannon to kill mosquitoes, but Su Han’s heart still felt uneasy. As a Tier Three "Gatherer," they often have a subtle sense of perception, which has aided her many times in battle.
She checked all the information again but still couldn’t see where the problem was.
She didn’t venture out of the command post rashly; the train’s detection system can gather more comprehensive and detailed information than the Evolvers. Even if she went out, it might not be as strong as the train’s surveillance system.
Perhaps noticing her unease, Yu Yue gently held her hand and asked softly, "What’s wrong?"
Facing Yu Yue, who treated her like her own, Su Han was very honest, "I’m a bit uneasy, but I can’t find the reason."
"Don’t pressure yourself too much."
Su Han exhaled, about to say something, when suddenly she saw a blue light appear on the map along with a red exclamation point.
Su Han’s pupils narrowed slightly—it’s a friendly mark, but now the Iron Pine Forest is still on the eastern front line. Who is appearing here?
"Connect all high-level communications!"
The cold voice of Qu Hang first sounded in the command room, "Someone’s asking for help from the south, using a Business Alliance signal flare."
Lao San: "What are they doing here? They obviously have ulterior motives. Niece, let’s just ignore them and bypass them!"
Su Han didn’t respond; instead, she asked in the communication, "Huayang, what’s the situation?"
The latter’s voice was heavy, "It’s indeed from the Business Alliance, and it’s from our Hua family."
Momentarily silent in the communication, Su Han calmly said, "Assess the situation on-site. Without clear information, I won’t send people for support."
From the other side came several wolf-like dying screams, followed by Huayang’s light chuckle.
"No need, I’ve already rescued the person; I’m returning now."
...
Ten minutes later, several high-ranking individuals looked at the disheveled Hua Zhonglin in disbelief.
The latter’s cold-weather clothing was torn, with distinct blood stains on the edges. His face was frozen to an ashen blue, but he still politely greeted Yu Yue first and then greeted everyone one by one, except Huayang.
But Huayang didn’t care for the uncle-nephew relationship, playing with the Ming Lion in his hand, coolly said, "Don’t tell me the Business Alliance’s deals have extended to the Evolution Beasts in the Wind Snow Zone."
Hua Zhonglin was stifled for a moment but still endured his temper, saying, "It’s an internal company matter; I just returned, and I’m not very clear about it."
Huayang sneered, giving his uncle no face, "You’re talking too much nonsense, don’t even know what you’re talking about. Just say what you know."
Hua Zhonglin couldn’t hold it anymore and snorted angrily, "Huayang!"
Huayang flicked his military insignia, arrogantly said, "Don’t see the major rank, do you? Mr. Hua!"
This smug look almost made Hua Zhonglin explode in curses. He turned to Yu Yue, "Madam, I really need your help with something."
Yu Yue had always disliked seeing people being oppressed, especially by someone like Huayang. Plus, she was curious about what could make this negotiation master, who could talk calmly in front of Su Huan, so anxious.
Hua Zhonglin spoke seriously, "You know about the Mechanical God Cult’s Blood Road Expedition, right?"
"I’ve heard a bit."
Yu Yue naturally took over the leadership. If it were about war, she could hand it over to Su Han and Huayang, but when facing Hua Zhonglin, both of them were a generation younger, and some things were difficult to say.
More than three years ago, the Mechanical God Cult had already initiated the Blood Road Expedition when the train conductor had not entered Eternal Night, which was quite a sensation at the time.
However, it was too far from the Wind Snow Zone, and the time span was too long, so people lost attention to this matter.
Hua Zhonglin deliberated, "Among major powers, there is an unspoken rule where each force develops within its defined territory, and crossing regions naturally leads to attacks from other forces..."
The people in the cabin showed knowing smiles; the first to break this rule was the Armed Train.
From high temperatures to snow, crossing nine major zones, breaking blockades countless times.
Even though the train conductor entered Eternal Night for three years, no force dared to say a word.
"Mechanical God Cult wanted to emulate the train conductor’s feat, which naturally would provoke our resistance." Hua Zhonglin narrated calmly, "Three years ago, with the alliance of several major forces, the Mechanical God Cult’s expedition was trapped in the Storm Zone."
Yu Yue’s eyes moved slightly; she was aware of this matter.
Ah Duo and the others survived only because the Armed Train offered a bit of help.
Otherwise, those hundreds of people would have been slaughtered.
"The turning point was the gamble at Dragon Gate. He encountered the Holy Church Army’s priest Ah Duo in the Storm Zone and gambled with the opponent. As a result, only the Tier Two Ah Duo survived, immediately advancing to Tier Three, and Cheng Zhan joined the Mechanical God Cult’s expedition as promised."
Lao San impatiently asked, "So what does this have to do with the current situation?"
Hua Zhonglin solemnly said, "More than a year ago, both Ah Duo and Cheng Zhan advanced to Tier Four, planning to fight another battle in the Wind Snow Zone under the witness of six major forces, and the battle time was the day before yesterday."
"If Ah Duo wins, no force can obstruct her completing the expedition. If Cheng Zhan wins, she not only has to turn back but also pay a large amount of resources. However, all major forces will acknowledge the Mechanical God Cult’s status as a top-tier force."
"Fighting for two days? There’s no winner yet?"
Huayang asked curiously.
Hua Zhonglin ignored him and continued, "Unexpectedly, this battle caused a beast tide."
"Beast tide?"
Everyone gasped.
Lao San became even more anxious, pointing at the map, "Which beast tide are you talking about?"
Hua Zhonglin glanced at it, recognized the terrain, and drew a large circle with his finger, encompassing their destination.
This time even Huayang’s face changed, angrily said, "Are you idle? Why not fight in the Rust Area? Why come to the Wind Snow Zone? Do you know how many beasts there are here?"
Hua Zhonglin smiled bitterly, "The decision wasn’t mine, but I roughly know their thoughts. Tier Four Evolvers cause too much damage to the environment, so they arranged the location in the Wind Snow Zone. As for the number of beasts, didn’t know before, but now, there are three Tier Four."
"Three?" Huayang sneered and slammed the table, "It’s four! And they’re all Lords!"
Hua Zhonglin’s pupils slightly dilated, and the bitter smile on his face intensified.
He stood up and bowed deeply to Yu Yue and others, "Although I don’t know what damage we’ve brought to your side, we will do our utmost to compensate, but for now, let’s evacuate quickly."
"It’s too late; we might have already been targeted as prey by the Tier Four Lords."
Su Han suddenly spoke from the side.
She turned to Qu Hang beside her, "Is there a retreat route?"
The latter went out for a moment, and after a brief wait, returned with a sullen face, shaking his head.
The atmosphere in the cabin instantly changed drastically.
This team is strong, with a lavish number of low-tier Evolvers, but the most deadly thing is their lack of a Tier Four Evolver to hold the fort.
Yu Yue took a deep breath, her eyelids slightly drooped, her gentle voice carrying a decisive tone.
"Notify the train, and from now on, the convoy command will be handed over to Han."
"Yes!"
Everyone immediately took orders and left one by one under Su Han’s rapid instructions.
Seeing the extremely grim atmosphere, Hua Zhonglin faintly sensed something was wrong and grabbed Huayang who was leaving, "What are you here for?"
Huayang sighed, "It was originally a military secret, but now it doesn’t matter if you die knowing, look over there."
Hua Zhonglin followed his nephew’s gaze and saw three small heads poking out from the door gap, curiously watching them.
After confirming the identities of the three ancestors.
Hua Zhonglin’s elegant face cracked inch by inch, with no sign of life left in his pupils.
