Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chapter 926 - 520: Striving to Mend the Heavens (Part 5)

For three years, the snow never stopped. The color of the earth was peeled away frame by frame until only a pure white remained. Without the contrast of colors, the world seemed to have turned into a singular semblance.

In the minus seventy-degree cold, a convoy traveled from east to west.

The leader was a modified snow off-roader, followed by twelve large snow transport vehicles, forming a spearhead formation to protect two low-hovering mobile compartments in the center, with two teams of second-tier genetic warriors enhanced by "Gunfire" transformation potions at the back.

This potion was first popularized within the Gunfire of the Northern Alliance, and due to its firearm manipulation features, it was dubbed "Gunfire Potion" by major powers.

These Genetic Warriors, albeit lacking the versatile methods of the Evolvers, were granted evolutionary opportunities by the transformation potion. The combat strength of second-tier Genetic Warriors was comparable to Tier One Evolvers. Coupled with three human body modification techniques developed by Yu Jing over the years, they physically resembled Evolvers.

Additionally, with professional military training, the advantage of Evolvers in large-scale battles had vanished.

The most critical factor was the extremely high success rate and low cost of Genetic Warriors, rapidly filling the Pale Battlefront within three years.

The Armed Train and Iron Pine Forests had a total of over twenty-four thousand Genetic Warriors, with numbers still growing.

And the Northern Alliance had four to six thousand as well.

If the war hadn’t persisted, the train would have cut off the Northern Alliance’s supply long ago.

Over two years ago, major powers noticed the existence of Genetic Warriors. After prolonged research, the successful development occurred six months ago, leading to an immediate arming of their warriors.

For big powers, Genetic Warriors were cheap and massive in quantity. Crucially, the promotion path was tightly controlled by the company. Compared to the Evolvers who tended to quit easily, Genetic Warriors offered optimal cost-effectiveness in warfare.

One of the mobile compartments was Yu Yue and the children’s living RV, while the other was a mobile command room.

At this moment, Yu Yue, wearing a Four Elephants battle suit, sat in the command center. In front was a fixed table with a multidimensional map projected on it, depicting nearby terrain, including rivers and mountains. Even snowstorm groups were shown flowing in real-time.

Su Han was exchanging sarcastic remarks with Huayang.

The issue they were debating was a longstanding war plan problem for the train.

The Wind Snow Zone was a Celestial Disaster Zone. Compared to other regions, humans were few here, leaving vacant territories which became a paradise for Evolution Beasts.

Initially, the train was busy dealing with the Pale Demons on the eastern front, unable to clear the area. By the time it was realized, it was too late. Next to the train chief’s home, four Evolution Beast Lords had already emerged. Xiaoba had planned to advance to Tier Four to handle it all, but these Lords advanced as well unexpectedly.

Four Tier Four Evolution Beasts were not far from each other. Even the Armed Train dared not make rash moves.

Fortunately, these Evolution Beasts’ hunting range was always on the west, never interfering with the Armed Train or Iron Pine Forest to the east.

The Armed Corps had long studied them to take them down, making it a frequent topic among the higher-ups.

"...want a swift resolution, but you need the knife for it. Young, too young."

Facing Su Han’s icy glare, Huayang wagged his finger, his handsome face adopting a taunting expression.

When the train chief left, he laid low for a year. Upon advancing to Tier Two Evolver the following year and realizing no one was out to get him, he reverted to his lazy demeanor.

Yet, the brutal wars over the years inevitably left marks on him. Even when lazily leaning against the wall, one might mistake him for a sheathed blade without closer inspection.

Seeing Su Han about to start another round of arguments, Yu Yue had to reluctantly mediate, "Let’s observe the beast movement. Our gathering could easily alarm them."

Huayang immediately straightened up, respectfully bowing slightly, "Rest assured, I’ll deliver you safely."

Hearing Huayang brazenly taking credit, Su Han snorted but didn’t argue.

"Why don’t you all stay outside, and I’ll just take a few kids inside?"

Yu Yue suggested tentatively.

"No!"

Without any hesitation, the two people who had just been arguing responded in unison.

The little chef, expecting this result, could only smile wryly to ease the awkwardness.

"Report, approaching the territory of the Wolf King, their detection range is forty kilometers..."

The reconnaissance team’s report was relayed into the command room.

Su Han frowned, "Detour twenty kilometers ahead. This lot’s sense of smell is sharp. Have Colonel Qu Hang intercept the scent."

"Roger."

Soon, the voice of the reconnaissance personnel came over the communication again, "A small wolf pack detected us, three kilometers southwest!"

The atmosphere in the command room instantly turned tense.

Su Han looked at the light spots on the terrain map, her gaze slightly cold, "This is nearing that tiger’s territory. Are they outsiders or driven out?"

This time Huayang didn’t bicker with her, standing upright, and seriously said, "I’ll go take a look."

After speaking, he tightened his windbreaker and rushed out the door.

Without any orders, in the convoy, including driver Wen Biao, four figures instinctively followed.

This was a group that had fought together for three years. Whatever the combat mission, the five of them as a whole constituted a fundamental combat unit. Unless dead, they must be by the main commander’s side.
