Apocalypse: My SSS Ability Changes Every Few Days
Chapter 81: Hopelessness
"This must be the guy." Lieutenant Lee thought about Alex being the person who had sneaked into the quarantine area silently to himself.
Although he couldn’t understand how Alex was able to do so, with him being able to unleash two abilities at the same time making it a high probability.
"Help..." Corporal Lex gave out a soft whimper and glanced at him.
But Lieutenant Lee couldn’t spare any attention away from Alex, and he only had one thought left in his mind at the moment.
He had to run and report what happened here back to General Xavier.
"Evacuate now! Make it back and report to General Xavier!" Lieutenant Lee shouted to his teammates and he unleashed another torrent of lightning strikes at Alex again.
Same thing happened.
Alex used his storage portal and absorbed the lightning strikes that came at him.
But Lieutenant Lee had expected this.
He made use of the opportunity to take out a syringe from his pocket.
Without hesitation, he tried to plunge the syringe into his neck and inject the substance that was inside the syringe into his body.
However, he could only get the needle close to his skin before he lost the feeling of his hand and arm.
Then, it was his body.
Lieutenant Lee turned and had a look at what was happening to him.
His hand and arm had turned into plaster.
Another portal had opened by his side and white particles flew out from the portal at him.
He cursed as he saw the plaster advancing onto the other parts of his body.
"Damn you!" Lieutenant Lee cursed and he placed his other hand onto the shoulder that was slowly turning into plaster.
Bam!
Lightning strikes were unleashed onto himself and the lightning strikes blew off his shoulder together with his arm that had turned into plaster.
It stopped the advance of the plaster, but blood oozed out from his wound and he quickly leaped away from where he was to get away from the white particles.
But when he landed safely, he was horrified to see another portal open up in front of him.
Crackle.
The sounds of crackling could be heard and bright flashes emitted out from the portal.
Lieutenant Lee felt hopeless.
Alex seemed to be a devil to him by now.
He had taken on so many missions but none of the other Awakened he had to deal with was like Alex.
Who the hell has so many abilities available?
So far, he had only seen Awakened with one ability each.
He wasn’t sure how Alex was able to have so many abilities, but he would never figure it out.
Bam!
He unleashed whatever he could at the lightning strikes that were coming at him with his own.
But he was overpowered by Alex’s lightning strikes.
Splatter!
The lightning strikes from Alex finally hit onto him and they blew him into pieces.
His flesh, blood and innards splattered out into the surroundings.
Corporal Lex opened his eyes and mouth wide when he saw Lieutenant Lee being blown apart.
He couldn’t believe what had happened.
Lieutenant Lee was able to unleash his lightning strikes and decimate any Awakened in their previous missions.
But now, right in front of his eyes, Lieutenant Lee was outplayed strategically and overpowered by Alex so easily.
With the demise of Lieutenant Lee, his end was near too.
A huge metallic block descended onto him from one of the portals that appeared.
Crush.
The huge metallic block crushed onto his body and everything turned blank for him in the next moment.
After dealing with Lieutenant Lee and Corporal Lex, Alex turned and glanced over at his friends.
Thankfully, Brian and Riley were done with Sergeant Simon.
Terry had also successfully dealt with Corporal Rock on the other side of them.
He inhaled a slow breath and he walked over to the plaster arm of Lieutenant Lee.
As he was doing so, a familiar sound erupted in his mind.
[Ding!]

[Day 1 of 1 for SSS Level Shadow Plane.]
Alex picked up the plaster arm and he glanced at the syringe that was still intact in the hand.
He crushed the plaster hand and released the syringe out from it.
It looked like a normal syringe with a dark liquid inside the syringe.
Alex wasn’t sure what it was but he figured that it was either something that boosted the strength of Lieutenant Lee if he injected it or that it was something that might help with healing.
Teresa might have a better idea about it.
However, he might have to do it much later.
His plan of moving over to the hydroelectric dam would have to be moved forward after this encounter.
The Elite Awakened Special Ops Unit would send more people coming after him since Lieutenant Lee and his team were dead now.
He had to think of a way to buy them for the move.
Alex frowned and took out his walkie talkie next, to check on Eddy and the others on how they were doing.
He pressed on the button, "Eddy, are you there?"
Buzz.
After a buzzing sound, Eddy’s voice could be heard.
"I’m here. We have taken care of all the intruders and they are dead now.
"We sustained some injuries, but it’s nothing too serious."
Buzz.
Alex pressed the button on the walkie talkie again and said, "Great, tend to the wounded and pack up.
"We might have to move very soon."
"I will let them do so right away." Eddy replied and the walkie talkie turned silent again.
Alex frowned and glanced at the bodies that were in front of him to see if he could find anything useful to buy time.
He could only find maps, firearms and the earbuds that all of them had on in their ears.
With the earbuds in his hands, he thought for a moment.
Just when he was doing so, a familiar sound erupted in his mind again.
[Ding!]
