Teresa thought for a moment and said, "I can turn them off but how would you move them with just the four of you?"

"That is not an issue, just let me know what I should be aware of."

She nodded, pointed at the machines while walking across the lab and said, "This analytics machine is crucial, and this one...

"You need to make sure that these consumables are taken care of too.

"Oh, and the power cables with these special connectors can’t be easily replaced."

Alex took note of what she had said, and when she was done, he glanced at her and asked, "Do you have extra white coats and surgical masks around here?"

"We do, it’s over there." Teresa pointed at a cupboard and said.

"That should be all. Follow Lin and get to the dorm building where the rest of us are." Alex said and Lin nodded his head.

Although she had many questions in her mind, Teresa kept quiet and followed Alex’s instructions to leave.

So far, he had been helping them survive and in her work.

There was no reason for her to doubt him.

She started to power down the machines safely with the help of Alice and the other researchers.

After they were done, they took whatever was essential with them and quietly followed Lin out of the research lab.

Alex proceeded to get to work immediately when they were gone.

He carefully took off all the connecting cables that were connected to the walls and power sockets.

Once they were free from any connections, he stored the machines into his storage space.

He also took care of the consumables for the machines that Teresa had briefed him on earlier.

"Are you sure this would work?" Terry, who was now in an undersized white coat with a surgical mask on his face, glanced at himself and asked.

"I’m sure it would." Alex shook his head at him and replied.

He went on to put on a white coat and surgical mask together with Riley and Brian.

The four of them, with the white coat and surgical mask on them, looked exactly like Teresa and the other researchers.

"Now what?" Riley straightened his white coat and asked.

"We wait for them to come." Alex gave out a sigh and said.

"But in the meantime, you can help replenish the bubbles, pillars of fire and metallic blocks for my storage portals." He shrugged and glanced at Riley and the others.

"Fine." Riley and the others rolled their eyes at him but they got ready for it.

They did whatever they could to help and rested only after a few rounds of doing so.

It would be dangerous for them to expend all of their energy now.

However, Alex still had energy and he didn’t stop.

He proceeded to try out his new abilities for his SSS Level Lightning Wielder.

Bam!

The research room was lit up like daylight when he unleashed the lightning web inside it.

There were lightning strikes that crossed each other, forming into a web which spanned a radius of 20 meters in front of him.

Thankfully, the research lab was tall and big enough for him to do so.

He didn’t expect the attack radius to be so wide so he had to do it again.

This time, he had his storage portal opened up right in front of him.

Bam!

The lightning web appeared and got absorbed into the storage portal in the next moment.

He went on and unleashed a few more lightning webs before he felt tired.

This took up at least twice as much energy from him as the normal lightning strikes.

He pondered how much the other two would use up and there was only one way to find out.

After the experience with the lightning web, he didn’t want to wreck the place so he let the storage portal remain close to him.

Crackle.

A huge torrent of lightning appeared and it started to spiral upwards, forming into pillars.

The pillars moved towards the storage portal and they got absorbed into the portal in the next moment.

Even with such a short amount of exposure, the pillars of lightning had ripped the concrete ground apart, leaving piles of debris right behind their trail.

And for the pillars of lightning, they took up even more of his energy.

Alex had to rest for a while before he could proceed with the next one, which was the lightning prison.

Crackle.

The crackling sounds of lightning filled the air and the hairs of even Riley and the others, who were some distance away from him, stood up on their ends.

Then, pillars of lightning appeared out of nowhere.

The pillars of lightning crossed each other and formed into a lightning wall.

They slowly moved towards each other to close up the space within them, forming into a prison cell.

Debris from the ceiling fell and the ground was damaged by the lightning walls.

Alex quickly used his storage portal to store the prison cell that was forming.

He couldn’t help but stop and inhale a long breath slowly.

A huge amount of his energy was taken away by using the lightning prison.

Alex took out some snack bars and water from his storage portal.

He handed some of the snack bars and water to his friends before he opened one himself and munched on it.

Riley and the others also did the same.

They munched on the snack bars and drank the water while they glanced out into the distance while they recuperated.

The night was getting darker and there wasn’t much going on outside.

If you weren’t aware of what was about to come, it would have looked like a quiet and rustic scene out there.

But it was not, and they could only be on alert and prepare themselves mentally to take on trained professional elite soldiers for the first time.

...

Meanwhile, at the quarantine area.

A convoy of civilian cars was formed up into a line.

Soldiers in armored vests and with firearms got into the vehicles.

Vroom!

Their engines roared to life and they moved out of the quarantine area.
