Apocalypse: I'm Bound to a Mobile Lottery Shop
Chapter 432: Purpose?
Chapter 432: Chapter 432: Purpose?
Lily Hart draped an arm over Sylvia Jarvis’s shoulder, raising an eyebrow as she presented her work. "So? Pretty amazing, right? Now you don’t have to swipe away at them one by one. That would be exhausting~"
Sylvia Jarvis was touched, but her reserved personality kept her from saying anything too sentimental. She just nodded repeatedly. "Thank you, Boss Hart."
"Don’t mention it! Now, let’s get to work! What’s our motto?" Lily Hart suddenly got fired up, speaking with passion.
Sylvia Jarvis was bewildered. "It’s... what?"
"To feed every customer, and let no customer wait with an empty stomach!" Lily Hart declared, raising her right hand, full of passion.
Sylvia Jarvis found herself inexplicably swept up in the excitement. She nodded emphatically, activated the robots, and got to work, brimming with motivation and not wasting a single second!
Lily Hart also sprang into action. With the four of them working together, things went much faster.
The robots were even faster than them. They didn’t process orders one by one, but rather by entire rows or columns.
SWISH—an entire row of orders vanished.
But at this rate, it wasn’t just the delivery station that would need more robots. The milk tea shop, the cake shop, and the fried chicken place would probably need them too.
The orders were absolutely exploding.
Lily Hart sighed, but then decided this was a good thing. She said to Sylvia Jarvis, "I’m going to check on the other shops. You hold down the fort for a bit."
"Okay." Sylvia Jarvis was too busy to even look up, only managing a sound of assent as she glanced at Lily Hart through a gap between the shelves.
Lily knew that if she didn’t take the initiative, this group of people, who only knew how to bury themselves in their work, would never think to buy robots or find a better way themselves.
Sure enough, when she arrived at the fried chicken place, Brock Finch was so busy his hands were a blur. The display case now held a series of fried foods like french fries and chicken nuggets.
It was no longer as monotonous as when he only sold chicken cutlets.
As a result, with the flood of new delivery orders, Brock Finch was completely overwhelmed. He didn’t even have time to take a sip of water.
The Light Brain hovered in the air, delivery orders popping up one after another, accompanied by a voice announcement.
[You have a new delivery order. Please check. One fried chicken cutlet, one large fries, with ketchup and cumin powder~]
[You have a new delivery order. Please check. One fried chicken cutlet, one order of chicken nuggets, one order of fried chicken tenders...]
[You have a new delivery order. Please check...]
’Yikes, that killer mechanical voice...’ Even Lily Hart felt a little stressed just listening to it. This was the first time Brock Finch had ever faced so many orders.
He was sweating profusely from the effort.
Lily Hart stood outside the door, watching silently for a moment. Then, she quietly ordered two robots, silently programmed them, and led them into the shop.
She had programmed the robots with the delivery order routine; as soon as they detected a delivery order, they could prepare it according to the specifications.
The moment the robots entered the shop, they detected the orders and, CLANK CLANK, got straight to work, their speed far exceeding Brock Finch’s.
He was stunned, finding himself literally pushed aside.
Brock Finch stared blankly at the two robots clanking away at their work. When he saw Lily Hart standing nearby, he knew it was her doing.
He suddenly breathed a sigh of relief. He hadn’t expected so many delivery orders and was completely unable to cope.
With no time to thank Lily Hart, Brock Finch was once again plunged into a frenzy of activity. She didn’t mind, leaving as casually as she had come.
Next, she went to the milk tea shop and the cake shop, repeating the process to add corresponding robots to both businesses.
This way, food preparation and profits both sped up. Sylvia Jarvis’s station could now handle the load, and customers no longer had to wait anxiously.
Satisfied, Lily Hart gave herself a mental thumbs-up, rewarded herself with a milk tea, and headed back to the lottery shop while sipping it.
As soon as she boarded the RV, she saw Elder Shaw and the other three sitting in a row on the sofa.
Elder Shaw was holding Lily in his lap, stroking her smooth fur. The one being petted was happy, and the one doing the petting was happy too.
Logan Holland and the other two were skillfully munching on the fruit, snacks, and spicy strips from the coffee table.
Seeing her come aboard, all four looked over and called out sporadically, "You’re back?"
For a moment, Lily Hart felt like the roles were reversed, as if they were the masters of the RV. But the thought was fleeting.
Lily Hart walked over and plopped down. "What are you guys doing here? Is everything at Central Command taken care of?"
Logan Holland answered for the group. "Of course not, it’s not that fast. We only just finished cleaning out the spies left behind by The Mysterious Clan this morning."
"Oh? That quickly? Not a single one left?" Lily Hart was a little skeptical.
Peter Sharp said, "You bet. We’ve had a list for a while, we just couldn’t make a move before. Now that The Mysterious Clan is gone, what the hell is there to be afraid of!"
Elder Shaw reached past Logan Holland and smacked Peter Sharp on the back of the head. "Lily Hart is here. Watch your language."
"You got it!" Peter Sharp replied with a grin.
"I can’t speak for everything, but Central Command is definitely the cleanest it’s ever been now. No more of those spies and parasites!" Yael Lowell said confidently.
Lily Hart deeply agreed. "I believe you."
Elder Shaw brought the topic back on track. "I heard online, Lily Hart, that you can duplicate shops now?"
"That’s right. But I can only duplicate one shop per day, and it costs five hundred thousand points," Lily Hart said.
The four men exchanged a look. Elder Shaw then said, "In that case, could we trouble Boss Hart to duplicate all the existing shops before you leave Central Command?"
Lily Hart had already been planning to do this, but since they brought it up first, she couldn’t be blamed for taking the opportunity to make a little profit.
’We’re all good friends, sure, but that doesn’t mean I can’t fleece them just a little.’
"I can, but... the points... it’s not a small amount..." Lily Hart said, feigning hesitation.
Elder Shaw waved his hand dismissively. "Points are no object! We’ll fund half the cost for every shop! You just focus on duplicating them!" The other three nodded in agreement.
’Ooh, so much confidence.’
She didn’t even have to ask; Logan Holland, the chatterbox, started explaining.
"You know how we sent the Powers Squad out to eradicate those High-level Zombies and high-level mutated creatures? That was The Mysterious Clan’s idea, trying to weaken our forces. But we’re not stupid."
"We had them confront the high-level mutated creatures, but they pretended they couldn’t win and faked their deaths one by one. Now they’re out there slaughtering zombies, shipping back Crystal Cores by the sackful," Logan Holland said cheerfully.
Lily Hart remembered this. They had even held several meetings about it.
’I never would have guessed. These old foxes had a trick up their sleeve all along.’
She couldn’t help but give them a mental thumbs-up. She had originally planned to just ask them for a token contribution.
’But since that’s the case, they can’t blame me for not holding back, hehe.’
"Alright. Which shop are we duplicating today?" Lily Hart asked.
"The clinic!" the four men said in unison. Elder Shaw quickly added, "One clinic is still far too few."
Lily Hart agreed and, with a grand wave of her hand, a base-level version of the clinic appeared behind the original.
The four men had never seen such a spectacle. Even though they were all mature adults, their eyes lit up.
"Your superpower is incredible, Boss Hart!" Logan Holland praised.
