Chapter 433: Chapter 433: Unyielding

Lily Hart couldn’t be bothered to explain. Everyone just assumed this was her superpower.

’So be it. It’s actually better this way~ I can’t exactly announce the System to the public.’

She gave a haughty toss of her head. "But of course. How else could you all be sitting here so comfortably?"

Hearing this, the four of them chuckled. She had a point.

Yael Lowell spoke up again. "Oh, right, is food delivery a thing now? I saw it’s blowing up online."

It was true. Every time Lily Hart came up with some new gadget, it would go viral online, get analyzed, and have guides written about it.

The new delivery platform was no exception. All four shops on it had been thoroughly investigated.

In just half a day, someone had already made a food delivery ranking list. There were only four shops in total, for crying out loud!

’People really love to rank everything,’ she mused. ’Just from what I know...’

...there was a prize ranking list for the lottery shop, a store value-for-money ranking list, and a shopkeeper friendliness ranking list.

A night market snack ranking list, and now, a food delivery shop ranking list.

The ranking lists from the outside world were even more numerous: the best bases to visit, superpower user rankings, and mutated animal/plant rankings.

’Sigh... I guess it’s because the apocalypse has stabilized and everyone has too much time on their hands.’

It wasn’t like the early days of the outbreak, when everyone was busy running for their lives, fighting zombies, going on missions, establishing bases, and so on...

Now, a survivor’s day consisted of waking up and scrolling through the Human Social Sphere.

Then they’d go to the supply exchange for some food, carry it with them to go kill zombies, and head back to sleep when they were tired.

She was getting sidetracked.

Lily Hart nodded. "That’s right. Now you can eat delicious food without even leaving your homes. You can thank me for that."

She finished with a playfully smug look that just begged to be punched.

Peter Sharp, who was closest to Lily Hart, gave her a light shove, smiling as he said, "We’re so thankful, so thankful."

Yael Lowell chimed in, "Yes, yes! Without Boss Hart, we wouldn’t have this happy life today!"

The group burst into laughter.

Elder Shaw’s eyes crinkled with amusement. He gently stroked Lily’s hair, watching them joke around with a smile.

Once the laughter finally died down, Lily Hart added, "You should try ordering delivery when you get back. It’s really convenient. It’ll definitely arrive within half an hour."

Logan Holland shot her a sideways glance. "Oh? So you’re not keeping us for dinner?"

Elder Shaw played along. "I’ve been looking forward to a meal here for a long time."

Lily Hart rolled her eyes. "Fine, fine, fine! You’re all invited for dinner. You can have whatever you want!"

"I want barbecue!" Logan Holland raised his hand.

"I want hot pot!" Yael Lowell also raised his hand.

"Then I want... Sichuan food!" Peter Sharp said hesitantly, looking from side to side.

Elder Shaw just smiled. "I’m fine with anything."

Lily Hart glared at each of them in turn. "Look at him, and then look at yourselves! Eat, eat, eat, that’s all you know! And you can’t even agree on what to eat!"

’But it’s rare for us to have dinner together,’ she thought, ’so I should just satisfy all of them.’

The three men exchanged a look, sparks flying between them, as if one was about to compromise.

But then they heard Lily Hart say, "Alright, fine. We’ll have it all. Hot pot, barbecue, and Sichuan food! I’ll arrange everything!"

Hearing this, the three immediately stopped their silent standoff and turned to Lily Hart in unison. "That’s great!"

Lily Hart sighed. ’I feel like a nagging mother raising a bunch of kids. No matter how old these men are, they all revert to their childhoods when they come here.’

Just then, Diana Sharp swiveled her chair around and called out to Lily Hart, "Lily, someone won a first prize~"

’Oh? Two first-prize winners in one day?’

’What is it this time?’

After she went down, Lily Hart realized she’d been tricked. It wasn’t a first-prize winner at all.

Diana Sharp had been tricked, too.

The moment she stepped out of the RV, a fist flew at her face. Lily Hart sidestepped, dodging it.

The punch was so fast it created a gust of wind that grazed the tip of her nose.

Lily Hart calmly called upon the System. ’It’s your turn. What are you waiting for?’

The System had been enjoying the show and was just about to praise how quick Lily Hart’s reflexes had become. When it snapped back to reality...

...it immediately threw the person, who had been about to attempt a leg sweep, through the air, sending him crashing hard onto the ground.

But that wasn’t all. The System then stomped on him viciously a few times.

It left him with a single breath of life, but added him to the blacklist. ’Hee hee, now *that’s* the most hopeless way to die.’

Having dealt with that one, the System gave itself a thumbs-up, only to discover that more than one person in the crowd was glowing red.

In its view, every person was a small blue dot. If they had malicious intent or killing intent, they would glow red.

’No time to think, just throw them all out! How dare they disrespect my host?’

Just as Lily Hart was about to head back into the RV, she saw people being flung out of the crowd one after another, like sandbags.

After landing hard on the ground, they were then brutally punched by an invisible hand until they spat up blood.

Lily Hart knew this was the System’s doing and asked it directly, ’Accomplices?’

The System replied viciously, ’That’s right! They’re all glowing red! Definitely not good people. I’ll teach them a lesson for you!’

’Thanks,’ Lily Hart said earnestly, before climbing back into the RV, completely at ease.

The group in the RV had witnessed the entire scene. Diana Sharp said apologetically, "I’m sorry, Lily. I didn’t ask clearly before..."

"It’s not your fault," Lily Hart cut her off.

’They must have come prepared, knowing they could use the first-prize story to lure me out.’

Elder Shaw relaxed once he saw she was unharmed. "They’re probably a branch of the Mysterious Clan," he guessed. "They’re resentful and wanted to make their presence known."

Speaking of which, Lily Hart was reminded of the O’Malley Family and wondered how things were progressing on their end.

’Day after day, they just don’t give up, do they?’

"Whatever. They can’t hurt me anyway." Lily Hart had the System add all of them to the blacklist.

No matter which clinic they went to, they couldn’t be treated. They could just wait to die.

’You know what, just kill them,’ Lily Hart instructed.

’I can’t be bothered to let them live. It’s better if they’re just dead. It’ll prevent future trouble.’

’Okay~’ the System replied cheerfully. It felt like its host had finally grown up.

There was no need for that "always leave a way out for others" nonsense. She didn’t need to leave them a way out, and people like them didn’t deserve one.

The System very cheerfully beat the group to death and then disposed of their bodies.

Lily Hart paid no mind to the aftermath and continued her chat with Elder Shaw and the others.

"Are you still planning to visit every base?" Elder Shaw asked.

"Yes," Lily Hart affirmed.

She had mentioned this idea to Elder Shaw before; she was surprised he still remembered.

She wouldn’t stay in Central Command forever. The other bases needed her shops just as much.

Even if she couldn’t replicate everything, they could still enjoy one or two things. Most importantly...

...she could leave behind the automatic scratch-off machines, vending machines, Light Brain rental machines, high-speed rail stations, and clinics.

’There’s so much I can leave behind now~’

’The main principle is: no trip is a wasted trip. Not a single one, haha~’

Elder Shaw expressed his strong approval. "It’s just that it will take a very long time."

"It’s fine. I’ve got all the time in the world~" Lily Hart said magnanimously.

Before, she had been in a hurry, so she could only stay at each base for a single day. But after leaving Central Command...

...she would stay at each base for about three days. That would be enough to replicate the clinic, the 4S dealership, and the factory—the three most practical facilities.

Lily Hart had it all planned out. And just like that, after all their chatting, it was time for dinner.
