Chapter 412: Chapter 412: Wolf Tooth Potatoes

Lily Hart was satisfied, and so was the stall owner. They exchanged a glance and chuckled mischievously.

"Alright, it’s settled then. Be on time to open your stall tonight~ Oh, right. Since you’ll be following me around from now on, do you want to get a hotel room?"

The stall owner hesitated. "Won’t that be expensive? I don’t have much money right now..."

He hadn’t even bought a Light Brain yet.

Lily Hart said, "Don’t worry~ There’s an employee discount. It’s super cheap."

And so, Lily Hart took care of everything, helping him get a room and then rent a Light Brain.

All set!

The stall owner was getting a little teary-eyed. ’Boss Hart is the best! She helped arrange everything!’

When the stall owner got back to his hotel room, he wiped away his tears and immediately started hyping up Lily Hart online.

Everyone, come buy her scratch-off tickets! You can actually win big!

He even attached a picture of the fried skewer stall. Its freezer was packed with meat skewers, each one looking particularly hefty and fresh.

A bunch of comments quickly appeared below, mostly from residents of Silverwing Base.

"Are you setting up at the night market today? I have to go try it!"

"Whoa, this kind of junk food was my favorite back in the age of civilization! I can’t believe I get to eat it again!"

"It’s like my youth is back! I was just wondering when someone would finally win a fried skewer stall!"

"And barbecue! Barbecue! That’s super delicious too!"

The stall owner scrolled through the comments gleefully, replying to each one. It was the first time he had ever felt this kind of attention.

Meanwhile, as Lily Hart was walking back to the lottery shop, she spotted someone redeeming a prize: a night market machine.

The timing was too perfect.

Lily Hart walked straight over and tapped the shoulder of the vendor, who was busy studying the machine.

It startled the vendor, who thought someone was about to rob him. He was just about to shout for Boss Hart’s help.

But when he turned around and saw Lily Hart’s smiling eyes, he breathed a sigh of relief.

Lily Hart pointed to the machine and asked, "What kind of snack is it?"

The vendor picked up the small card and read the words on it aloud: "It’s Wolf-Fang Potatoes!"

Lily Hart’s eyes lit up. ’Oh, that’s delicious too! This is great, they’re all my favorites!’

’In the future, whenever I don’t feel like a healthy dinner, I can just go to the night market and eat my way from one end to the other. That sounds like a blast!’

"Awesome!" Lily Hart cheered.

Although the vendor didn’t know why she was so happy, her excitement was contagious.

"So, Boss Hart, would you like a serving?" the vendor asked, rubbing his hands together eagerly.

’I haven’t had lunch yet, either. Perfect!’ the vendor thought.

"Sure!" Lily Hart agreed. It didn’t matter that she’d just had lunch a little while ago.

’A serving of Wolf-Fang Potatoes isn’t that much. It won’t fill me up,’ she thought.

So, the two of them moved a short distance from the crowd, found a less busy spot, and started up the machine.

It was a deep fryer containing a square, perfectly-sized wire basket.

Once the machine started, crinkle-cut strips of potato appeared in the basket.

The vendor was surprised. "Huh, are these potatoes? Why are they shaped like this? It looks like someone’s been chewing on them."

"Hahaha, why else do you think they’re called Wolf-Fang Potatoes?" Lily Hart laughed at his comment.

The vendor scratched his head. "I guess you’re right. Now that you mention it, they do look pretty similar."

The two of them stared at the Wolf-Fang Potatoes bobbing in the deep fryer.

Once the batch was done frying, the red light switched to green, and Lily Hart lifted the basket right out.

She gave it a couple of practiced shakes, draining off the excess oil.

She then poured the potatoes onto a metal tray to the side and glanced at the row of seasonings next to it.

Cilantro, green onions... ’I should add everything,’ she decided, grabbing a disposable paper bowl.

With the bowl in one hand and a small metal shovel in the other, she scooped a portion into the bowl, added each of the seasonings, and then mixed it all together.

She picked up a small wooden skewer, tried a piece under the vendor’s watchful gaze, and her eyes immediately lit up. "Hey, this is delicious!"

Hearing this, the vendor, who was already hungry and salivating, could barely contain himself.

Copying Lily Hart, he grabbed a disposable paper bowl and a skewer from the supply below and shoveled a portion into his bowl.

He tried to remember how she did it as he added the seasonings, with Lily Hart occasionally offering pointers. "Not too much of that one."

The vendor was a quick study, and his portion came out tasting great too. It was mainly because the potatoes were fried so perfectly.

They weren’t overcooked and tough, nor were they undercooked; they were just right.

The two of them began to eat, each with a bowl in hand. Just as Lily Hart had said, a single serving of Wolf-Fang Potatoes wasn’t much and didn’t fill you up.

In fact, it was so good she wanted another serving, but she figured eating too much wouldn’t be a good idea.

So, she reluctantly put down her paper bowl and skewer. The vendor, on the other hand, quickly devoured his portion and immediately made himself another.

He polished off the rest of the potatoes in one go. ’It’s just too good!’

The next steps were the same as before. If he decided to run a stall at the night market, he would have to get a hotel room.

After all, they had to follow the market around. They couldn’t just sleep on the street, right?

Getting a room was the best option. With the employee discount, it wasn’t too expensive, and it provided a good living environment.

They could run the stall at night and catch up on sleep during the day. Wasn’t it the best of both worlds?

After getting this new vendor settled, Lily Hart ambled back toward the lottery shop.

She stood at a distance, watching for a while. The prizes people won were incredibly varied.

There were fruits, weapons, daily necessities, Crystal Cores, and all sorts of other strange and wonderful things.

For example, she’d once seen someone win a prize—a tissue or something—that could wipe away literally anything.

That had really blown her mind.

But lately, she hadn’t been paying much attention to what people were winning, only following up when someone won a first prize or a night market machine.

She got back to the lottery shop and was surprised to find Frost Shaw there. She gave him a wave and headed for the bathroom.

’After wandering around outside, it’s only right to wash my hands when I get back,’ she thought.

Just as she was about to close the door, Frost Shaw stuck his foot in the way and then nimbly slipped inside.

He shut the door behind him with a CLICK.

Lily Hart: ?

Before she could say anything, Frost Shaw pulled her into a hug, his arms wrapping tightly around her waist.

She instinctively took two steps forward, rising onto her tiptoes to wrap her arms around his neck.

"What’s wrong?" Lily Hart asked softly, stroking the nape of his neck.

Frost Shaw didn’t say anything, simply burying his face in the crook of her neck and inhaling her scent.

’Such a reassuring scent.’

He nuzzled his cheek against her skin, unconsciously pressing soft kisses to her neck.

It started to tickle, and Lily Hart let out a soft laugh. "What’s gotten into you? Hold on, don’t move."

Frost Shaw obediently held still. Lily then unclasped his hands from her waist.

He immediately gave her a pitiful look, opening his mouth to speak before closing it again.

Lily Hart didn’t see his expression. She simply took both of his hands and placed them on her shoulders.

"Is this a better way to hug?" Lily Hart asked, throwing herself into his arms and wrapping her own tightly around his lean waist.

A smile returned to Frost Shaw’s face. By holding her shoulders, he could completely envelop her. ’Does this feel even closer?’

’She’s so soft, and she smells so good. I want to hold her like this forever.’

He thought to himself, then mumbled unconsciously, "Lily, who do you like the most?"

The moment he asked, he regretted it. ’How could I be so greedy?’

Lily Hart: Hmm...?
