Chapter 410: Chapter 410: Piggyback Ride

With so many customers and so few employees, he currently only planned to sell fried chicken cutlets, which would be even faster.

A batch would be fried, then taken out all at once. Most people bought one or two servings.

The ones that didn’t need to be cut up were packaged directly. The ones that needed to be cut or have powder sprinkled on took a couple of extra steps.

He was barely managing to keep up on his own. Lily Hart watched for a moment, then left without disturbing him.

Walking from the back to the front, Lily Hart peeked into every shop. They were all running smoothly. If anyone was too busy, she would lend a hand.

If they were still too busy, she’d just buy robots and solve the problem at its root.

As she passed the hotel, Leo Colby happened to be at the entrance. He crooked a finger at her, and she walked over unconsciously.

She thought he had something to say, so she stood in front of him, looking up at him. "Hm?"

Leo Colby smiled. "Nothing." ’I just wanted a closer look.’

Lily Hart shot him a speechless glance. Arriving at the hotel reminded her it had been a long time since she’d checked on the vegetable patch. She wondered what it looked like now.

She walked around him and headed behind the hotel. Seeing this, Leo Colby automatically followed her.

Stan Sterling wasn’t in the vegetable patch, but you could tell it was well-cared for—lush and green.

It was now ten square meters, planted to the brim and well-planned.

Regardless of whether they were suited for this climate, every plant was thriving and full of life.

Beside the patch stood two automatic harvesting robots. Once activated, they could harvest everything with a rapid WHIR.

The daily fruit and vegetable flash sale was now scheduled for two in the afternoon, giving everyone plenty of time.

You could find almost any fruit or vegetable Lily Hart could name here, and even some she didn’t recognize.

Since they started changing bases so frequently, Lily Hart hadn’t visited much.

Leo Colby, on the other hand, came often. After all, it was close by. He began to give her a very dutiful introduction.

He even plucked a few cherry tomatoes, wiped them casually, and handed them to her.

Lily Hart didn’t mind. She took them and ate one. It burst in her mouth with a sweet and sour flavor that was incredibly appetizing.

Seeing Lily Hart finish it in one go, Leo Colby immediately picked a few more for her.

Soon, that small patch was picked bare. The two of them looked at each other and laughed.

Lily Hart laughed. "Okay, okay, stop picking, hahaha, or we’ll eat them all."

Leo Colby stopped. As the two were chatting, Stan Sterling arrived. He heard their joyful laughter before he even got close.

He knew it had to be Lily Hart, but he didn’t expect the other person to be Leo Colby. He’d thought it was Frost Shaw.

"Boss Hart, Leo, you’re here." Stan Sterling approached and greeted them familiarly.

’Oh, he’s calling him Leo now. Looks like they’ve all gotten pretty close when I wasn’t looking~’

Stan Sterling’s gaze fell on the bare cherry tomato patch, and he couldn’t help but smile. He took a small basket out of his storage space.

He quickly filled it with lots of cherry tomatoes.

Then he handed it to Lily Hart. "Here. Everything grown in this patch is especially delicious. If you like eating them, just let me know."

Lily Hart chuckled and accepted it without hesitation.

This was true; even the ones from the mall didn’t taste as good as those grown in the patch.

Stan Sterling knew Lily Hart also liked peaches and pears, so he took out two more small baskets and began to pick them vigorously.

Lily Hart went to help. Actually, picking fruit yourself was quite fun.

Especially from peach or pear trees like these. It made her feel like The Monkey King stealing peaches.

A notification popped up on Leo Colby’s Light Brain. Someone was at the front desk, waiting to check in.

He saw the two of them getting along so well he felt a bit like a third wheel, so he simply returned to the hotel.

If Roman Rowe or Owen Warren had been here, they would have definitely tried to wedge themselves in. Those two were always competing and vying for attention.

Lily Hart focused on picking peaches, choosing only the big, red ones. Those were the sweet ones—one was enough to satisfy you.

Stan Sterling wasn’t as focused. He was picking pears from a nearby tree, stealing glances at Lily Hart from time to time.

He was always watching her.

When he saw her trying to pick a high one she couldn’t reach, he pulled the branch down for her, letting her pick to her heart’s content.

When he saw her small basket was full, he skillfully took out another one, then took the full one from her and set it aside.

Lily Hart filled a total of three small baskets before she stopped, satisfied.

She glanced down at the four small baskets placed outside the patch. Only one of them had been picked by Stan Sterling.

’This guy is so slow.’

’But this is more than enough for everyone for a few days.’

After they finished picking, getting out of the vegetable patch was an arduous task. It was simply planted too densely.

She didn’t know where to start—no, where to step. Every step required long deliberation.

She didn’t dare step on the vegetables. How could she? They were her precious money-makers.

Seeing this, Stan Sterling hesitated for a moment. "How about I carry you on my back?"

He walked this path a dozen times a day and had his own route, but he was afraid it would be too sudden and Lily Hart would be put off.

Who would have thought Lily Hart would crisply open her arms to him. "Okay."

Perfect.

Stan Sterling suppressed a smile, walked in front of her, and bent his knees. He felt her climb onto his back, her soft arms wrapping around him.

He couldn’t help but hold his breath. He waited for her to get settled before curling his hands to support her legs.

The scent of her filled his nostrils, overpowering the smell of the surrounding fruits and vegetables.

Lily Hart felt very secure on his back, watching him expertly step over the seedlings and vines and smoothly exit the patch.

The whole process was very smooth. Stan Sterling couldn’t help but lament, ’This vegetable patch is too small. We’re out already.’

He had to put her down, feeling a little reluctant. Lily Hart didn’t notice his subtle thoughts.

She stood up, stretched, and then went to pick up the small baskets, but Stan Sterling beat her to it.

He grabbed two in each hand with ease and shot her a look. "Come on, I’ll walk you back to your RV."

Lily Hart followed, walking beside him. As they walked, she very naturally plucked a cherry tomato from a basket and started eating it.

Seeing this, Stan Sterling quietly moved the basket with the cherry tomatoes to the outside, making it easier for her to "sneak" them.

To get back to the lottery shop, they had to pass the hotel’s main entrance again. Lily Hart thought for a moment, then took a peach, a pear, and an apple, cradling them in her arms.

"Wait," Lily Hart said. She tucked the three fruits into her arms and jogged into the hotel.

Leo Colby was busy when he saw Lily Hart rush in like a gust of wind.

She put something down in front of him, and before he could even say hello, she scurried out again.

His gaze followed her. He saw her come and go in a flash. He saw her return to Stan Sterling’s side with a smile.

Only after she and Stan Sterling had disappeared from view did Leo Colby look down. Oh, three pieces of fruit. ℯ

’Hm, a gift from her,’ Leo Colby thought, and an unconscious smile appeared on his face.

Lily Hart didn’t just give them to Leo Colby. As they passed the convenience store and clinic up ahead, she did the same thing for them.

When Frost Shaw and Roman Rowe received the fruit, they couldn’t hide their smiles. But before they could even say thank you, Lily Hart had run off.

But when they saw her run back to Stan Sterling’s side, the smiles on their faces immediately vanished.
