Chapter 379: Chapter 379: New Karaoke

Owen Warren had adjusted all the prices at one point, but he never gave her the details, and she never asked.

’It was his business, after all. He could change the prices if he wanted; he must have had his reasons.’

She walked to the cashier’s counter as she usually did, but he wasn’t there. ’Where’d he go?’

Lily Hart set down the two large bags of pastries and desserts, pulled out a cake, and began a self-guided tour. The first floor was now enormous.

The shower area alone, between the men’s and women’s sections, had five hundred small stalls each, able to accommodate a thousand people showering at the same time.

That scene... yeah, Lily Hart didn’t dare to imagine it.

Before, there weren’t any stalls, just showerheads on the ceiling. Everyone had to bare it all.

Besides the shower area, the first floor also had a lounge that still served fruit and simple meals.

Whether your access was limited depended on the price you paid.

After a full lap, she still hadn’t seen Owen Warren on the first floor, so Lily Hart took it upon herself to head up to the second.

She came to the bathhouse often, popping in for a massage from time to time.

The second floor was more crowded and larger than before, but no new sections had been added.

It already had an entertainment zone, massage parlors, soaking tubs, body scrub stations, and a movie lounge.

Lily Hart couldn’t imagine what other features they could possibly add. There was already more than enough; if you really wanted to indulge, you could easily spend a whole day here.

She leaned against the railing, surveying the bustling second floor. Her gut told her Owen Warren wasn’t here.

She looked toward the staircase leading to the third floor. That was new.

Without hesitating, Lily Hart immediately headed up. A flight of stairs later, she arrived on the third floor, which was still empty of customers.

The layout was strikingly similar to the second floor, like it had been copied and pasted.

She saw Owen Warren up ahead, his back straight and tall, one hand planted on his hip.

"Owen Warren!" Lily Hart called out, walking toward him. As he turned, she brandished the cake in her hand.

"Lily Hart," Owen Warren replied, standing still and waiting for her. As she got closer, he could see the sparkle in her eyes.

"Brought you a cake. Didn’t you say yesterday that you liked this one?" Lily Hart said.

It was a tiramisu. Lily Hart held it out, and Owen Warren took it. His sharp tongue acted on instinct. "Since when are you so nice?"

Lily Hart rolled her eyes. "You psycho. I’m always nice!" She couldn’t be bothered to bicker with him about it.

She asked, "Is this part of the new upgrade?" She glanced around. "It feels pretty much the same as the second floor."

Seeing how smoothly she changed the subject, Owen Warren chuckled to himself and replied:

"Yeah, the layout’s similar, but we moved the soaking tubs, scrub stations, and massage parlors up to the third floor. Now, the second floor is entirely for entertainment."

"That way, people can move between them freely. Oh, and we also added a karaoke section on the second floor. Twenty private rooms, and they’re really well soundproofed."

Lily Hart’s eyes widened. "That’s awesome! It’ll be able to hold more people, so there won’t be any more conflicts."

Owen Warren added, "Exactly. The second floor was always running out of space before, and people were constantly complaining. Now, if they complain again, I’ll just tie them in a knot and throw them out!"

"...You," Lily Hart said, speechless. "Calm down, calm down."

Owen Warren shot her a glance, harrumphed, and lifted the lid off the tiramisu.

He picked up the fork, but just as he was about to dig in, he caught Lily Hart’s eyes darting around.

He looked back down at the tiramisu in his hands. Then, in a rare moment of inspiration, it dawned on him. "Do you want some?" he asked.

Lily Hart gave him a surprised look. "Ooh? Look at you, finally getting it."

Owen Warren’s brows shot up, and his heart swelled with delight. He was just about to say something smug when he heard her refusal. "No thanks, though. I just had one."

"Tch, suit yourself!" Owen Warren snapped, pulling back his outstretched hand.

He started digging into the tiramisu while leading Lily Hart on a tour of the new third floor, even though its layout was the same as the second.

But... well, okay, it really was the same. The third floor had three sections in total, all of them massive.

The two of them didn’t walk through the entire floor, just taking a quick look around. Once Owen Warren finished the setup, it would be ready for customers.

Owen Warren led her to the new karaoke section on the second floor, which was pretty much like the KTVs from before the apocalypse.

The private rooms were a decent size, able to hold about fifteen people each.

Lily Hart tested the speakers and microphone—the quality was excellent—and even picked a song to test them out.

She sang with such gut-wrenching passion that her voice nearly shredded. "EVEN IN DEATH! I’LL LOVE YOU!!!"

Owen Warren sat on the sofa with his legs crossed, scratching his ear with a look of utter disgust on his face.

But if you looked closely, his eyes were smiling and the corners of his mouth were turned up slightly. His gaze held a soft, doting fondness. ’She looks so relaxed right now,’ he thought. ’So cute.’

After her song, Lily Hart plopped down on the sofa, exhausted from singing, and took a breather.

Owen Warren speared a piece of cantaloupe for her. "Here, eat." He then twisted open a bottle of water and handed it to her. "To soothe your throat."

"Ah..." Lily Hart instinctively opened her mouth to take it, then accepted the water he offered and took two large gulps.

After a short rest, Lily Hart stood up. "Alright, let’s go downstairs."

Owen Warren got up too, grabbing the bottle of water she hadn’t finished and the plate of leftover cantaloupe.

As they walked out of the room, Owen Warren glanced back. He secretly decided he wouldn’t open this particular room to the public.

He’d save it just for her.

They arrived at the cashier’s counter one after the other. Owen Warren looked at the two large bags of sweets, feeling secretly gleeful. "All for me?"

The moment she heard that, Lily Hart became protective of her food. "As if," she said, snatching the bags up.

She whispered, "You’re a zombie, you should eat less. You got the tiramisu, be happy with that."

Owen Warren was speechless. "..." He looked down at the last remaining bite of tiramisu. "Why not? I’m a zombie, and I need to eat too!"

Lily Hart laughed. "Alright, alright, I was just teasing you." She continued to rummage through the bags.

"I remember you also like... Golden Bites. Here, a box for you. And this strawberry tart, it’s new today. You can try it," Lily Hart said.

Owen Warren took them gleefully, hugging them to his chest, secretly overjoyed.

But he still said, "Just these two? You’re too stingy, Boss Hart!" ℴℴ𝘮

Lily Hart: "In your dreams!"

Inwardly, Owen Warren was satisfied, but he still had to put on a show of reluctance. "Fine, I guess I’ll accept them."

Lily Hart shot him a glare, then left with her two big bags of pastries without a backward glance.

The moment she left, Owen Warren tore open the box of Golden Bites and scarfed them down, finishing the entire thing in seconds. All that was left was an empty box.

After finishing the Golden Bites, Owen Warren polished off the last bite of tiramisu.

With the Golden Bites gone, he opened the strawberry tart. It was quite pretty, so he snapped a few pictures of it.

After the photoshoot, he began to eat without a shred of hesitation, starting with the big, red strawberries on top. ’Huh, a little sour.’

The sourness definitely got to Owen Warren.

After quickly devouring all three treats, Owen Warren opened the bottle of water that Lily Hart had been drinking from. He hesitated for a moment, then chugged the rest of it down.

’Strange,’ he thought. ’Why does this water taste sweeter than usual?’

While Owen Warren was busy scarfing down his treats, Lily Hart had already arrived at the convenience store. But she didn’t see Frost Shaw on the first floor.

She looked over at Easton behind the counter and noticed he had a strange expression, as if he were sullen about something.

"Where’s Frost Shaw?" Lily Hart asked Easton.
