Alpha's Regret: The Seventh Time was Forever
Chapter 631 - You don’t have a daughter, Ravyn. Get over it
Chapter 631: Chapter 631 - You don’t have a daughter, Ravyn. Get over it
It wasn’t what anyone expected. Ravyn was ruthless, everyone knew that. And sure, he didn’t want a child with Daisy, didn’t want any reminder of the worst mistake of his life.
But then again, the pup was innocent. To kill her or deny the child his or her life would bring consequences to the pack. The moon goddess did not look kindly on those who harmed the innocent.
Now that he thought of it, the pack had faced no consequences because Corvine had not killed Seraphine’s child as Ravyn had instructed. The irony was not lost on him.
How could he not have known that his order had been disobeyed? However, he was glad to not have known, because his obsession with Daisy by then would have caused him to follow up and get it done. He would have murdered his own child in cold blood.
Thinking through it, his guilt and regret knew no bounds. But he couldn’t undo the past. He could only try to do better in the future.
Grabbing Daisy by the neck, Ravyn pressed her forehead to the ground before lifting and repeating the process three times. It was a ritual of dismissal, a symbolic stripping of her title.
Each impact sent a jolt through her body, her cries muffled against the earth. The crowd watched in stunned silence, no one daring to intervene.
"I hereby announce that Daisy Walker is no longer the Luna of the Centenary pack." Ravyn’s voice boomed across the grounds, carrying absolute finality. "She will go by her maiden name, Daisy Reel. The only reason for the delay of her punishment is the pup in her womb."
He paused, his voice turning teary as he added, "After the pup is born, she will face the consequence of all her crimes, including those she killed, her lies, her manipulations, and all her evil against our former Luna..." His voice cracked, the name heavy on his tongue. "Seraphine."
"Alpha, will Luna Sera be back?" One of the pack members asked, hope flickering in their voice.
Ravyn asked in return, his expression hollow. "Can you find me a needle in the middle of the sea?"
The pack member shook his head slowly, the hope fading from his eyes.
Ravyn answered defeatedly, his voice barely above a whisper. "I hope I have answered your question."
"Alpha, shall we have another Luna soon?" Someone else asked, their voice tentative.
Ravyn responded with a heavy heart, the weight of his loss pressing down on him. "No Luna can fit Seraphine’s shoes." The words hung in the air, a eulogy for what he had lost.
The atmosphere turned gloomy instantly, the joy of the earlier pronouncements evaporating. But Ravyn continued to speak, his voice regaining strength.
"We shall focus on making this pack stronger and financially stable. We have new betas, and you already met them." He gestured to Riven and Gray. "Riven and Gray will be your new betas from today."
There was a sigh of relief, and the pack applauded. Over the last few days, they had seen the two men in action, their leadership, their dedication. And knowing they were formerly Alphas with packs of their own, they did not doubt their capabilities. The applause was genuine, a glimmer of hope in the darkness.
Ravyn continued with random matters, addressing concerns and answering questions. As soon as the pack dispersed, Daisy was taken back to her small room, her body trembling with fear.
They returned to the pack house before Ravyn asked his father, his voice desperate. "Will you tell me about my daughter now?"
To his disappointment, his father shook his head, his expression cold and unyielding. "You don’t have a daughter, Ravyn. Get over it."
"Seraphine’s child is mine." Ravyn argued, his voice filled with pain. But his father responded curtly, his voice carrying a note of finality. "An Alpha’s order is law. You wanted her dead, so she’s dead." The words hit Ravyn like a physical blow, robbing him of breath.
Knowing he wouldn’t get anything from his father, Ravyn went to bed. But sleep offered no respite, only more nightmares.
The next morning, the pack members sent a mindlink to Riven and Gray. "Alpha passed out at the border. The warriors are bringing him."
Everyone wondered what Ravyn was doing at the border, what had driven him there in the middle of the night. But he woke up before the warriors would reach the pack house and continued to jog like nothing had happened.
He pushed himself to his feet, his body screaming in protest, and kept moving.
It was then they realized that he had fainted from extensive training. But right now, nothing and no one could stop him.
His sleep was short, barely enough to sustain him. And right after handling pack matters, he was back to training, pushing himself past exhaustion, past pain, past reason.
Then Kylie saw the strange people leaving Ravyn’s office for two days in a row. They came and went like shadows, never staying long, always leaving Ravyn’s expression darker than before. Disturbed, she put a call through to Seraphine.
"Thank you for informing me, Mom." Seraphine’s voice was serious, carrying a note of urgency. "I will tell Voren about it." She paused, then added, "Just so you know, Oriana will awaken in three days. And Olivia’s corpse has been sent to her pack. It’s the reason Voren is unreachable right now."
"This is good news." Kylie said, her voice warm with relief. "Your mother-in-law coming back is a blessing."
Seraphine continued, her voice softening. "And Mom, the money you gave me has yielded lots of interest. I can send it to you now. At least that would bring the Walkers Global Enterprise back on its feet."
Kylie thought through it and shook her head slowly, a small smile playing on her lips. "I think it will yield more interest with you. And I never thought of taking it back anyway."
"But I have so much." Seraphine argued, her voice carrying a note of protest. "I have Voren too, if you know what I mean."
Kylie sighed, her voice thoughtful. "Still wait. If Ravyn behaves, then I can invest it back into the Walkers Global Enterprise. But if he continues to cause you trouble..." Her voice hardened slightly. "Then you will it to my grandchild."
Seraphine did not argue anymore. The less Ravyn had, the less trouble he’d cause, unless he changed for the better.
After her shower, she was just having her lunch before going to the pack hospital when Voren returned. He was tired, his face drawn with exhaustion, but his eyes carried a glimmer of news. "Ravyn called."
Seraphine froze, her hand hovering mid-bite. The words echoed in her mind, raising a thousand questions. Was it the same thing Kylie had talked about?
