Alpha's Regret: The Seventh Time was Forever
Chapter 630 - Stay out of it
Chapter 630: Chapter 630 - Stay out of it
Ravyn left the city as soon as he ended his last call with his father. Arriving at the pack, he was ashamed to find things moving as before, the pack members going about their duties, the routines still in place.
Clearly, his parents and two friends had been doing a good job in his absence. But now, he felt the need to step back into his Alpha shoes, to reclaim the position he had abandoned.
If nothing at all, he would do it for his daughter. That thought was the only thing that anchored him, the only light in the darkness of his guilt.
It was dinner time when he arrived, and only then did he realize how famished he was. Due to all the terrible dreams of his past, food had tasted like bitter pills for weeks, each meal a chore rather than a pleasure.
But right now, he felt the zeal to take care of himself and rebuild his pack. For Espe. For the future.
"Ravyn, what do you intend to do with Noelle and Chuck?" His father suddenly asked, the question cutting through the silence.
Ravyn froze, his fork hovering mid-air. "Aren’t they dead?" That was what he had assumed, what he had hoped. The betrayal still burned fresh in his memory.
But his father shook his head slowly, his expression grim. "No. They were taken to the hospital and are still there."
Ravyn’s jaw tightened. He quickly mind linked the whole pack, his voice echoing in their minds with command. ’Everyone, gather at the pack ground. Now.’
Pack members were stunned to hear from their Alpha, the first time in what felt like an eternity. Everyone hastened, their footsteps pounding against the earth as they converged on the central grounds.
Ravyn asked Riven and Gray, his voice carrying a note of urgency. "Are you two willing to be my betas?"
The two eagerly agreed, their faces lighting up with hope. His father sighed with relief, the tension in his shoulders easing.
It was good that Ravyn was ready to take over his position. If kept busy, he wouldn’t go looking for trouble, wouldn’t drown in his own despair.
"Alright then." Ravyn nodded, his mind already racing with plans. "We can’t have a ceremony any time soon. The pack finances are stressed—"
Riven cut in, his voice firm. "We can just go through the ritual. No need for a ceremony. We just need our best friend and Alpha back."
Ravyn was glad for the simplicity. He informed them, his voice cold and authoritative. "Please bring Noelle and Chuck to the pack ground."
Their meals were left unfinished as they all hastened outside. The pack ground filled with bodies, the murmurs of confusion rippling through the crowd. Ravyn waited for his two friends to arrive with Noelle and Chuck, his patience growing thin.
When they finally appeared, dragged by warriors on either side, Ravyn’s blood ran cold. Seeing their condition, he instantly knew Voren was the one who had done this to them.
The brutality was unmistakable—the same ruthlessness he had seen in his former best friend’s eyes.
This was something Ravyn should have done himself, should have carried out when he first learned of their betrayal. The shame burned through him as he looked at the couple thrown to the floor.
They were missing body parts, One of Noelle’s legs and arm gone, same as Chuck’s, and could not stand straight.
Their bodies were broken, but they weren’t in any form of pain. Voren had been careful to leave them alive and suffering, a walking testament to his power.
"Do you admit to your sins?" Ravyn asked the couple on the floor, his expression dark. But they could not speak. Their mouths opened and closed, but only guttural sounds emerged.
"Their tongues were cut." Kylie informed Ravyn, her voice flat with disgust.
Ravyn raised a brow, not surprised. His former best friend was ruthless, always had been. The method was brutal but effective.
"In that case." Ravyn’s voice rose, carrying across the gathered crowd. "I wish to inform everyone that our former beta and his wife, Chuck and Noelle, are no longer members of the Centenary pack."
He paused, letting the weight of his words settle. "With my authority as Alpha, I banish them ten thousand meters from this pack. Should they be seen around after seventy-two hours, their lives should not matter."
The pack warriors carried the couple away instantly, their bodies dragged across the ground like refuse. The crowd watched in silence, no one daring to speak.
Ravyn turned to his mother, his expression hardening. "Where is Daisy?"
Kylie froze instantly, her face paling. "Ravyn, she has to give birth first. She’s still carrying—"
"Please, Mom." Ravyn’s voice was cold, unyielding. "Bring her."
Kylie’s shoulders sagged with resignation. She went to bring Daisy from one of the store rooms they had converted as a bedroom for her.
Her punishment was only delayed because of the pup in her womb, so she was given no luxury, only nutritious meals and water to nourish the pup, and plain clothes that hung loosely on her frame.
When Daisy was brought, everyone was stunned by how she had changed. Her skin had lost its richness, her face pale and drawn. The dark circles under her eyes were stark against her hollow cheeks.
For someone who had always dressed in luxury, who had commanded attention with her beauty, her pale clothes and gaunt frame made even an omega look better than her. She was a shadow of the woman she had once been.
Ravyn walked towards Daisy, his steps slow and deliberate. She quickly hid behind Kylie, her hands clutching the older woman’s arm. "Ravyn, please, don’t do this." Her voice was desperate, cracking with fear. "I’m pregnant. I’m carrying your child."
Kylie wanted to shield Daisy, to protect her from whatever was coming. But Ravyn had already caught her arm, dragging her to the front of the pack and forcing her to kneel.
Kylie was about to intervene, to say something, when Humphrey stopped her. His hand closed around her wrist, his voice low and firm. "Stay out of it." He shook his head slowly. "He never listens anyway. Let him do what he needs to do."
