"Weren’t you afraid I’d be no match for Pan Mo?"

Annie gave him a meaningful look. "With your strength, defeating Pan Mo might be difficult, but it wouldn’t be hard to hold your own against him."

Pei Ze’s heart skipped a beat, and he couldn’t help but glance at Annie.

’Could it be that this Vampire Wizard already knew I’ve grasped the Power of Rules?’

"I know, I know. You’ll get a share of the Divine Spirit’s corpse."

The God of Decay and Death was an Ancient God, after all. Even with his Eye of Omniscience, researching the corpse would be incredibly difficult. Ultimately, he still needed Annie’s help.

"Pei Ze." Gu Lin had appeared at his side at some point, frowning as she studied him. "Why did you join the Blood War?"

As far as she knew, the Spirit pollution from the Blood War was a Wizard’s greatest enemy.

Pei Ze didn’t hide anything. "I found a way to eliminate the Spirit pollution," he said frankly, "so I joined the Blood War to grow stronger."

Seeing Gu Lin’s eyes light up, Pei Ze knew exactly what she was thinking. "The method only works for me," he said slowly. "So don’t get any ideas."

Eliminating Spirit pollution involved the soul. It was far too dangerous to use on anyone other than himself and his familiar, as a single mistake could easily cause soul damage.

Otherwise, the Rule Wizards of the Star Realm Alliance would have used this method long ago to cultivate legions of Level 5 and Sixth-level Wizards.

Gu Lin’s face fell with disappointment.

However, she quickly composed herself and began chatting with Pei Ze about everything that had happened since they entered the Abyss.

Since they hadn’t seen each other in a long time, they had plenty to discuss, and they lost all track of time as they talked.

Annie glanced thoughtfully at Wuyu, then gave a calm nod. "No problem. The Divine Blood isn’t of much use to me, so you can have all of it."

"In addition, I will refine a wisp of Cyan Flame for you that contains the Rule of Death. It should help you comprehend the Rules in the future."

With that, Annie flicked her wrist, and a perfectly round bead with a faint silver luster materialized in her palm.

"This is a Danish Forest Crystal Stone, an artificial object that perfectly fuses elemental energy and Soul Power. It’s an ideal medium for neutralizing the conversion of elemental energy into Soul Power. You should be able to use it when you’re breaking through to Level 6."

Pei Ze’s eyes immediately lit up.

Never mind the Divine Blood and the Cyan Flame; the Danish Forest Crystal Stone was something he desperately needed right now.

The process of breaking through from Level 5 to Level 6 required the complete conversion of elemental energy into Soul Power.
