Age of Wizards: I Can Analyze All Things

Chapter 476: Chapter 238: Winning Over (Part 2)
Leaving the inn, he found the streets were, as expected, much quieter. The usual dense crowds of demons had dwindled to just a few stragglers. Clearly, they had all run off to join the Blood War.
Pei Ze saw this and wasted no time, immediately flying toward the battlefield.
Even from dozens of kilometers away, he could hear the deafening roar of battle and see the sky above stained a deeper crimson than anywhere else.
Upon reaching the battlefield, Pei Ze looked down and found the war before him was far more brutal and bloody than the last.
The numbers of both demons and devils were several times greater than before.
The number of high-tier combatants, in particular, had skyrocketed.
A quick scan revealed five or six Balors alone.
There were no fewer than ten thousand Flame Demons.
—Without a doubt, the number of high-tier combatants from Hell and the Abyss was second to none in the entire Multiverse. Even an organization as powerful as the Star Realm Alliance was far inferior in this regard.
The trade-off, however, was that high-tier combatants from Hell and the Abyss were far more severely restricted by planar laws than the powerhouses of other civilized races.
A Fifth or Sixth Level Wizard could freely enter and exit the Abyss and Hell, but a fifth or sixth-level demon or devil could not do the same.
Once these High-Tier Evil Demons entered a material plane, they would be suppressed by its rules, and their strength would be greatly diminished.
Therefore, High-Tier Evil Demons rarely descended upon material planes, and when they did, it was only as projections.
His gaze swept past the numerous Balors and Flame Demons, and Pei Ze’s attention was soon drawn to two forces clashing at the center of the battlefield.
One of the clashing sides was comprised of several thousand Knights. They were clad in full heavy armor, wielding lances with greatswords hanging at their waists, and riding atop Skeleton Warhorses.
Despite the great distance, he could feel the chilling pressure they radiated, along with a Power of Death so dense it was almost tangible.
Death Knights!
Pei Ze recognized the origin of these Knights at once.
Death Knights were High-tier Undead, second only to Witch Demons and vampires. The weakest among them possessed the strength of a rank-nine legend, equivalent to a Level 3 Wizard.
And these Death Knights before him were clearly much stronger than their brethren. Their gear consisted entirely of highly enchanted Magic Items, and the Power of Death they radiated was in no way inferior to Wuyu’s.
’Fifth-level Death Knights, huh.’
A glint flashed in Pei Ze’s eyes. ’This legion of Death Knights is clearly the demons’ trump card, one they’ve saved until now.’
The reason why was obvious from the current situation.
Pei Ze’s gaze shifted to the Death Knights’ opponents.
They were winged men and women with handsome faces and majestic expressions.
They wore exquisite, ornate white robes, untouched by a speck of dust, just like the legendary Angels from Paradise Mountain.
A closer look, however, revealed that their snow-white wings, once a symbol of sanctity, had turned a dim gray. Their once-golden eyes had become a dark, dusky blue. The Two-Handed Swords in their grasp still pulsed with flames and crackled with Thunderbolt, but they no longer bore the Holy Light that made every demon tremble in fear.
Fallen Angels!
According to legend, they were Angels who had been tempted by devils, abandoned their faith, and fallen into Hell.
With ice-cold expressions, the Fallen Angels brandished their Two-Handed Swords and clashed with the Death Knights.
In terms of individual strength, the Fallen Angels were significantly stronger than the Death Knights. They generally possessed combat power at the Level 5 Peak, and several among them—those with twelve wings—even wielded power at the Sixth Level.
If the Fallen Angels weren’t so heavily outnumbered by the Death Knights, the battle would have been decided long ago.
The two trump-card legions were locked in a fierce stalemate in the middle of the battlefield. Rampant energy fluctuations swept outward, tearing apart the void and shattering the ground, forcing the other demons and devils to keep their distance and leaving a conspicuous empty zone around them.
Only High-Tier Evil Demons like Balors and Flame Demons, along with a few bold outsiders confident in their own strength, dared to join the fray.
A predatory light flashed in Pei Ze’s eyes. He looked at the Fallen Angels as if they were prey and charged forward without a moment’s hesitation.
"It’s him."
In the distance, the man with black tattoos and the short, stout Wizard quickly noticed Pei Ze, a flash of delight in their eyes.
’The guy finally showed up.’
But when they saw Pei Ze charge straight toward a Fallen Angel, they both couldn’t help but frown.
’That’s a Fallen Angel!’
’A powerful being that even veteran Level 5 Wizards are wary of!’
’What is that guy thinking? If he wants to increase his power, can’t he just hunt other devils?’
’Why take such a risk?’
Their brows furrowed, not because they were worried about Pei Ze’s safety, but because they didn’t want the target they had finally found to die in the Blood War.
Meanwhile, Pei Ze had already engaged a male Fallen Angel.
The rules of the Blood War were simple and brutal: the more powerful the target one killed, the richer the boon of power they received.
This was especially true for killing a higher-level opponent; the boon was exceptionally generous.
There was no shortage of historical examples of a High-Tier Evil Demon, weakened after a tough battle, being opportunistically killed by a Low-Tier Evil Demon, which in turn allowed the Low-Tier Evil Demon to evolve directly into a High-Tier one.
It was just like killing monsters: killing a higher-level one always yielded the most experience points.
Both Pei Ze and the Fallen Angel were at the fifth level. However, if one were to break it down further, Pei Ze was at best in the early stages of the fifth level, whereas the Fallen Angel was at the Level 5 Peak.
While it didn’t technically count as killing a higher-level opponent, if he could take down a Fallen Angel, the boon of power would be far greater than what he would get from killing tens of thousands of devils.
Seeing Pei Ze charge, the Fallen Angel’s expression remained unchanged. It slashed out with its sword, unleashing a combined blast of Thunderbolt and flame, but the attack was blocked by the lightning wreathed around Pei Ze’s body.
The next second, Pei Ze raised his palm. A silver light materialized from thin air, forming a Longsword. Lightning immediately coiled around the blade as he brought it chopping down on the Fallen Angel.
After advancing to become a Level 5 Wizard, Pei Ze had evolved Silver Star to the sixth tier. He had also used the opportunity to absorb enough metal alloys to strengthen it to the Tier Six Peak.
To be honest, however, at Pei Ze’s current level of strength, a witchcraft artifact—even a Tier Six Witchcraft Artifact—was far less helpful to him than it used to be.
Once a Wizard reached the level of a Rule Wizard, witchcraft artifacts became completely useless.
For beings who had mastered rules, the use of external objects was minimal.
The only exception was Divine Artifacts.
Strictly speaking, a Divine Artifact was a fragment of a Divine Spirit’s authority, which was why it could serve as the Divine Spirit’s weapon.
In short, Pei Ze now mostly just used Silver Star as a convenient vessel for his Thunder Elemental Energy.
As for enhancing his strength, it was better than nothing, but just barely.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
An eardrum-shattering peal of thunder erupted above the battlefield.
A white figure and a black figure intertwined in a blur, as a violent tide of energy and shockwaves exploded outward from their point of collision.
This Fallen Angel was arguably the most powerful enemy Pei Ze had faced since becoming a Level 5 Wizard.
In terms of the Wizard power system, this Fallen Angel was at least equivalent to a Level 5 Wizard with over 80% soul fusion, making it a great deal stronger than Pei Ze.
Even with Wuyu’s assistance, Pei Ze could only barely fight it to a standstill.
’As expected, this is still a bit of a stretch.’
Pei Ze sighed softly, unsurprised by the current situation.
Even among those at the fifth level, the disparity in strength could be immense.
After all, he had only recently advanced to the fifth level, and his soul fusion hadn’t even reached twenty percent. If not for the deep foundation he had built up beforehand, he would have been defeated long ago.
However, since he dared to take on a Fallen Angel, Pei Ze naturally had a trump card of his own.
With a mere thought, a single drop of the Power of Rules deep within his Sea of Consciousness began to spin. It then suddenly erupted, transforming into a torrent of energy that surged out of his body.
In an instant, lightning flared and surged in Pei Ze’s palm, rapidly condensing into an incandescent white spear. He hurled it forward, and it struck the Fallen Angel in the blink of an eye.
BOOM!
A world-shaking roar erupted. A terrifying shockwave spread out in all directions from the point of impact, sending the surrounding demons and devils flying. A few Balors that couldn’t dodge in time were tossed far into the distance like toys.
The violent commotion instantly drew a great deal of attention.
The Demon General on the walls of the Bronze Fortress, Brad, the man with black tattoos, the short, stout Wizard, and many others all focused their gazes on the scene, just in time to see the Fallen Angel being helplessly obliterated into ash amidst the lightning.
