Chapter 475: Chapter 238: Recruiting

Inside the dim stone house.

A stone statue nearly two meters tall stood in the center of the room.

The statue was humanoid, resembling a robust man in his thirties. Although an inanimate object, it exuded a sharp and piercing aura.

The black-tattooed man and the short, stout Wizard stood reverently before the statue, their bodies slightly bowed. They had held this same posture for several minutes.

Just then, the stone statue suddenly glowed with a faint, silvery light. The entire sculpture abruptly came to life; its eyes even swiveled to land on the two men before it. Its mouth slowly opened, emitting a deep, resonant voice.

"What is it?"

"My lord."

The short, stout Wizard bowed and then said in a low voice,

"We discovered a rather formidable Wizard during the Blood War."

The short, stout Wizard quickly recounted the events, then added, "We think this is a good opportunity. If we can win him over, we’ll have a much better chance of dealing with the Silver Light Legion’s pursuers."

The statue was silent for a few seconds before saying flatly, "Investigate his background. If there are no issues, I will make time to meet him."

"Yes, my lord," the short, stout Wizard hastily replied.

The statue said no more. The light around it quickly dimmed and vanished, and it soon returned to its previous inanimate state.

A few more seconds passed before the short, stout Wizard and the black-tattooed man straightened up.

The two exchanged a look, and the black-tattooed man was the first to speak. "What’s your plan?"

The short, stout Wizard mused, "I’ve already investigated. The man is staying at the Pallid Bone. We’ll go there ourselves to sound him out. As long as he isn’t a Wizard from Chenxi City, we can try to recruit him."

The black-tattooed man nodded, tacitly agreeing to his companion’s proposal.

Throughout the Multiverse, the Star Realm Alliance is the only Wizard Civilization, so nearly all Wizards hail from it.

The mysterious Wizard was most likely no exception.

But that didn’t matter.

The Star Realm Alliance was, after all, just a confederation of city-states. The Alliance Council’s control over the various Wizard Cities was very loose, and the relationships between the cities themselves were not particularly close.

Unless someone was a criminal explicitly wanted by the Alliance, a warrant issued by one Wizard City for a specific Wizard would simply be ignored by the others. They certainly wouldn’t go out of their way to assist in the capture.

As long as the mysterious Wizard was not from Chenxi City, there was hope for recruitment and cooperation.

The vast majority of Wizards were not the type to follow rules rigidly. As long as the benefits were sufficient, they couldn’t care less about so-called regulations.

"Let’s go."

The short, stout Wizard turned and left the stone house.

The black-tattooed man fell a step behind, then followed suit.

The two soon arrived at the Pallid Bone, only to find that the mysterious Wizard was no longer at the inn.

...

「The Thunder Elemental Plane.」

Surging Thunder Elemental Energy gathered from all directions like a frenzied tide, scrambling to pour into Pei Ze’s body.

Deep within his Sea of Consciousness, a drop of the Power of Rules, so incandescent it was blinding, slowly took shape over time, eventually forming a faint resonance with his Elemental Fire.

Around the Elemental Fire, there were already seven drops of the Power of Rules.

Pei Ze opened his eyes and let out a long breath, a genuine, joyful smile spreading across his face.

After the explosive increase in his soul fusion, the amount of the Power of Rules he could bear had also increased, now totaling eight drops.

The condensation time had also been further reduced; he could now form a single drop in less than nine days.

Even so, accumulating all eight drops of the Power of Rules had taken him more than two months.

’The Blood War must have started by now.’

The succubus who had guided Pei Ze before had told him that once the Blood War began, the fighting would not cease until the armistice period arrived.

The occasional retreats were merely brief lulls, lasting only a day or two to give both sides a window to mobilize their forces. Afterward, the slaughter would resume, lasting for another seven, eight, or even more than ten days.

This was the main reason the Blood War was known as the most brutal war in the Multiverse.

Once the war started, it was basically fought from beginning to end without a real break.

In this war, countless High-Tier Demons and devils would die in battle. At the same time, however, even more Mid-Low-Tier Demons would evolve into High-Tier Demons, and more Demon Worms and imps would be born from the planes. As a result, the battlefield would never suffer from a shortage of troops.

Of course, for Pei Ze, the longer this Blood War lasted, the better.

If it could drag on for seven or eight years, he might very well have advanced to a Sixth-level Wizard by the time it was over.

’The plan for Wuyu’s sixth-level evolution has also been fully deduced.’

Pei Ze looked at the black bracelet on his wrist, a glint flashing in his eyes.

After the massive surge in his elemental source, the deduction task was completed in just two months.

As expected, the list of evolution materials provided by the Eye of Omniscience was filled with all sorts of precious items.

The Death God’s Blood from a Middle-tier Deity alone was already giving Pei Ze a headache.

This was not something he could obtain by purifying the blood of divine creatures like before.

For the time being, Pei Ze couldn’t think of a way to acquire it.

As for the other materials, he had already sent a letter to Tao Ping, commissioning the Travelers’ Association to help collect them.

He could foresee that collecting all the materials on the list, aside from the Death God’s Blood, would inevitably cost an enormous amount of Magic Crystal Stones. But Pei Ze wasn’t concerned. If worst came to worst, he could just sell the manufacturing method for the Thunder God Golem to the Travelers’ Association to cover the debt.

In any case, with the upgrades to his Wizard Tower and the future construction of a Floating City, the Thunder God Golem would have to be further improved sooner or later.

By then, the old manufacturing method would be useless anyway.

Snapping back to the present, Pei Ze left the Thunder Elemental Plane and returned to his room at the Pallid Bone in Broken Domain Town.
