Age of Wizards: I Can Analyze All Things
Chapter 477 - 239: Where Did That Guy Run Off to Again?
Chapter 477: Chapter 239: Where Did That Guy Run Off to Again?
"Is this... the Power of Rules?"
"How is that possible?"
The expressions of the black-striped man and the short, stout Wizard changed in unison, their eyes filled with disbelief.
The Power of Rules was exclusive to Seventh-level Powerhouses. If Pei Ze were a Sixth-level Wizard on the verge of a breakthrough, using it might be understandable. But he was clearly just a Level 5 Wizard. How could he possibly grasp such a high-level power?
"...Interesting."
Brad narrowed his eyes, a strange glint flashing through them for an instant.
It was the first time he had ever seen a Level 5 Wizard who had mastered the Power of Rules.
CRACKLE!
The lightning subsided, revealing Pei Ze’s figure.
He hovered in the air, calmly experiencing the changes in his body.
A surge of abundant power welled up within him out of nowhere. On his status panel, his soul fusion progress had skyrocketed by 4.79%!
While it wasn’t an on-the-spot evolution like a Low-Tier Demon killing a High-Tier Demon of a higher level, a nearly 5% increase in fusion progress was still very satisfying for Pei Ze.
At the same time, it once again proved the overwhelming might of the Power of Rules.
Even a being as strong as a Fallen Angel was completely vulnerable before a power two realms above its own.
Pei Ze hadn’t even used a full drop of the Power of Rules, leaving some of the energy to cleanse the spiritual contamination.
If he had used all of it for offense, it would have been more than enough to deal with a sixth-level being.
Just then, Pei Ze suddenly sensed a powerful and terrifying aura lock onto him. He looked up and met a pair of crimson eyes filled with cold, murderous intent.
It was the Demon General who had been standing on the walls of the Bronze Fortress.
He wielded a Two-Handed Longsword wreathed in flames, charging toward Pei Ze with palpable killing intent.
Before he even arrived, his terrifying aura swept over like a tidal wave, threatening to engulf him.
A chill ran through Pei Ze’s heart. He didn’t hesitate to use the Power of Rules. Dazzling lightning instantly enveloped his body. The arcs of electricity on the Longsword condensed from Silver Star grew denser, tearing through the air as he slashed down at the Demon General.
Facing a sixth-level Great Demon, Pei Ze didn’t dare hold back.
This was the strongest enemy he had ever faced directly.
BOOM!
Lightning and flames clashed violently in the void, erupting in a furious shockwave.
In the blink of an eye, the two were locked in a fierce battle.
The outsiders, including the black-striped man and the short, stout Wizard, were all stupefied, their scalps tingling in shock.
’That’s a sixth-level Great Demon, yet he’s able to fight him on even footing. Is this guy really just a Level 5 Wizard?’
Brad was just as shocked.
Originally, his demonic nature gave him no intention of helping Pei Ze. He was more interested in seeing how long Pei Ze could last against the Demon General.
However, that thought changed the instant he saw they were evenly matched.
’With an ally like Pei Ze, this seems like the perfect opportunity to kill the Demon General!’
Realizing this, Brad instantly grew excited.
’If I can take out the enemy commander here, the Demon Army will be thrown into chaos for a while. And I’ll receive a reward from the plane, bringing me one step closer to the rank of Demon Lord.’
At this thought, Brad could no longer hold back. He immediately drew his weapon and charged toward the Demon General, joining the fight.
And then, Brad saw Pei Ze rapidly retreat, pulling back over a thousand meters in the blink of an eye and withdrawing from the battle.
"Damn bastard!"
Stunned for a moment, Brad snapped back to his senses, his expression twisting as he cursed out loud.
But it was too late. The Demon General’s face was cold as he pressed his attack, giving Brad no chance to retreat.
The Demon General wasn’t a fool. After clashing with Pei Ze for only a moment, he had discovered that although his opponent’s power level was weaker, it was unquestionably the Power of Rules.
He was struggling to defend against a power that was an entire realm higher than his own.
Therefore, upon seeing Brad charge over and noticing the discord between the two, he decisively chose to "cooperate."
’Dealing with Brad, whom I’ve fought many times, is far easier than dealing with a mysterious Wizard who has mastered the Power of Rules.’
Having been set up, Brad could only suffer in silence and force himself to continue fighting.
Watching this scene unfold, a faint sneer crossed Pei Ze’s face.
He could guess Brad’s intentions with his eyes closed. Naturally, he wouldn’t let this Great Demon use him as a pawn, so he had decisively withdrawn.
While the Power of Rules within him had yet to dissipate, Pei Ze unhesitatingly turned his attention to a second Fallen Angel.
To avoid any more surprises, Pei Ze didn’t hold back this time, striking with his full power to end the fight quickly.
In less than ten minutes, four Fallen Angels had fallen at his hands.
Such a brilliant combat record naturally drew many sidelong glances.
Having gained what he wanted, Pei Ze didn’t linger and decisively left the battlefield.
He was just an outsider, not a member of the Demon Army, so he wasn’t subject to its battle supervision. He could leave whenever he pleased.
In fact, no battle-supervisor demon was foolish enough to try and stop him. No one had the guts.
The black-striped man and the short, stout Wizard exchanged a look, quickly reached a silent understanding, and chased after Pei Ze.
However, by the time they chased him to Broken Domain Town, they had lost his trail once again.
’Where did that guy run off to now?’
...
[Soul Fusion: 39.16%]
[Elemental Origin: 19,580]
Looking at the information from the Eye of Omniscience, Pei Ze nodded in satisfaction.
This harvest was much greater than the last. His fusion progress was just shy of 40%.
"As expected, killing powerful enemies is more efficient."
However, Pei Ze also knew that high-level combatants like the Fallen Angels were far rarer than the lesser demons he’d been hunting, and there were probably not many of them in the Demon Army.
