Chapter 1981: Reunion Between Principal And Student
Chapter 1981: Reunion Between Principal And Student
‘Hmph, they’re lucky I still have to fetch Brown.’ Grey snorted coldly at the thought of a Gnome tailing him. Until he had Brown with him safe, he did not want to have a clash with the Gnomes, at least not yet.
Heading to the Royal Capital became even riskier now that he found out most of the Half God Plane experts were gathered there. With that many Half God Plane experts present, the chances of being discovered was even higher.
Not wanting to bother himself with that thought for now, he headed to the abandoned building where the Old Man from True Dawn, as well as the two ladies were hiding.
When he arrived, it took him a while before he found the group hiding in one of the rooms. They were all in good condition, unlike the Principal who looked no different from bones.
The Principal was taken aback when he saw the Old Man from True Dawn. On the way here, Grey did not speak a word to him, only grabbing him by the shoulder and leading him away. Meeting other Humans in this abandoned building, he felt a little skeptical, especially the Old Man who he was somewhat familiar with. They both stayed in True Dawn and were acquainted.
The first person to speak was not the Old Man, instead, it was the other Man Grey rescued along with him, “Sir, you were able to find the person you were looking for?”
Grey nodded, “Thanks to your words, I was able to locate the Gnomes who bought him.”
“I’m glad I could be of help.” The Man replied, elated he was able to help Grey in his search. He did not know how important this Man is to Grey, but the fact that the latter was searching for him in the Gnome World meant that he was more than just important.
“Like I told you all earlier, I will be taking you back to the Human World. It’s just, you still have to be patient as there is still someone I have to retrieve.” Grey reminded the group.
When they heard him speak in such a matter-of-factly manner about taking them back to the Human World, the eyes of everyone glowed. For the first time, the Principal whose eyes had been dull all this while showed some glint. He turned to Grey, grabbing him by the shoulder, “Sir, who are you?”
Hearing the Principal addressing him as Sir, Grey panicked and hurriedly waved his hand, “I dare not accept such honorifics from you, Principal.”
The Principal was Klaus’s father, there was no way he would ever accept being addressed in such a manner by him. He did not mind it when the others present did it, including the Old Man, but the Principal was not someone he could accept such words from.
The Principal as well as the others were taken aback when they saw the panic in Grey’s reactions. It was genuine, which meant that in front of this Man who was nothing but bones, he held nothing but respect for him.
This made the Principal even more confused, he did not know any youth who should be powerful enough or even influential enough to make the Gnomes release him. Even the top experts in the Human World had no way to negotiate with the Gnomes for his release, much less a youth. Who could this person be?
Grey did not want to expose his identity just yet to the others, but he did not mind telling the Principal who he was, “Wait a minute.”
Saying this, he took the Principal to another room. The Principal looked at him, curious about the identity of his savior. When he was taken out of the room where he was connected to an array. Seeing that he was being handed to a Human, he thought the latter was a Necromancer. After all, there was no way a normal Humans would be able to have communications with the Gnomes. Even going as far as getting them to pay a small price to extricate him from that array. Over the past few days, he had spoken with the others that were also connected to the array and found out that, unless an Elementalist is dead, they are usually not removed from the array formation. Of course, there are also cases like his own when someone would be taken out. Only, it rarely happens. Neither did he think anyone would come save him.
When the duo were alone in a room, the Principal recalled the manner with which this masked Man addressed him, ‘Principal’. It has been close to two decades since he left the position of Lunar Academy’s Principal. Only someone who knew him from that time, and actually went to the Academy would address him in such a manner.
Grey removed his mask, staring at the Principal with a solemn expression.
As soon as the Principal laid his eyes on Grey’s face, his pupils dilated. Over the course of his life, there has only been one male face that stood out compared to the many he has encountered. Not just did the Young Man have exceptional looks, his talent could also be said to be one in a million. All those years ago, his son was fortunate to be friends with this said Young Man, and the duo have grown together for decades now. Seeing this face before him, all he could remember was that Young Man.
“It’s nice to see you again, Principal.” Grey bowed to the Principal.
“You’re Grey Dawson, Klaus’s friend, correct?” The Principal asked, just to confirm his suspicion even though he was already more than eighty percent certain that he was the one.
Grey nodded, “Yes, Principal.”
“What are you doing here? Don’t you know how dangerous it is to come here?” The Principal, instead of appreciating Grey’s effort of coming to the Gnome World to save him, immediately started to reprimand him. This was the Gnome World, and seeing Grey here, he could not help but worry about his safety. It was fine if he was captured, but if Grey were to be captured too, that would be disastrous.
