Chapter 738: Real Boss Fight - 2

During those 48 hours, matches were taking place outside the Secret Realm between the losing academies.

And naturally, Azirith Academy—the Red-Flame Dragons—were securing swift victory after victory.

Just behind them was Velerath Grand Academy, with Darren carrying almost every match.

Surprisingly, instead of Valencrest, the 3rd-leading academy was Elarion Royal Academy.

Valencrest came 4th, followed by Zerathyr—the Yellow Dragons—and the rest.

The rankings were already becoming clear.

But one thing was certain throughout it all: Sunborn Royal Academy and Aurelius Beast Academy were superior.

"Hehehe, I can’t wait for Aurelius to beat those arrogant Sunborns!" one person exclaimed.

"Nothing will change. You humans are naturally crafty. No wonder you won the Strategic Warfare. Just wait for the remaining events and see how the dragons beat the shit out of you!" A dragon sitting nearby huffed.

"Fuck off! Have your Prince Azrakar say that to Leo and Lily’s faces and see what happens."

"Oh? Have your Leo and Lily even met him for you to speak so confidently?" The dragon was getting increasingly heated, but just as he was about to say more, he noticed an officer walking by. He quickly calmed down.

Even the elves, despite having no academy left in the finals to cheer for, were eager to know the results. Not to mention, some kind of gossip was already spreading among them.

If the academies were held in high regard, the shining individuals were held in even higher regard, as was evident from the discussions taking place everywhere.

Since this was actually the first generation to be this strong, with their abilities being displayed to the common masses across the 3 Empires through public broadcasts, many people were already beginning to regard them as godly beings.

And the Boss fights played a major role in that. Killing beasts of such enormous scale in just 1 hour was simply mind-blowing, something the common populace had never witnessed in their lives.

Forget defeating beasts of that scale; most people were witnessing battles at this level for the first time.

At best, they had only ever seen battles between Low 2-star and High 2-star individuals in controlled arenas within city walls. After all, any fight involving individuals above that rank could easily level an entire city block, leaving no witnesses behind.

Moreover, smartphones had only been in circulation for about 10 years. There wasn’t much content, nor were there enough content creators or sufficiently advanced sharing technologies to spread information across the 5 million kilometres of the Human Empire.

As for those who were strong enough to potentially share their battles, most were old and didn’t bother showcasing their abilities through devices they barely understood. They believed doing so would reveal their weaknesses.

Meanwhile, the younger generation wasn’t strong enough to match the top academy students or showcase impressive abilities. They were also incapable of challenging beasts like Vorthuun to demonstrate the true scale of such battles.

And all of this was creating an unprecedented wave throughout the 3 Empires.

In the Emperor’s Chambers...

"You two should be thankful to me. My students are helping spread the names of your chosen prodigies among the masses," Aurex said with a chuckle.

"As if! I bet your words would have been the exact opposite if Leo and Lily had been losing. Something like... ’Even your race’s representatives are losing to my weakest students,’" Cyrandel retorted.

Somehow, the three Emperors, or rather Louis and now Cyrandel, seemed to be working to spread Leo and Lily’s names throughout their respective Empires for reasons unknown.

In the Secret Realm...

These were the items Leo and the others had decided to purchase with their points.

Leo hadn’t chosen [Meteor Apocalypse] because it didn’t have the same guaranteed-hit effect as the other artefacts. As for [Dragonfall Cataclysm], it didn’t seem as effective, considering that the dragons were capable of flight.

The lightning from [Heaven’s Wrath] could easily paralyse its targets, which would be even more devastating against airborne opponents. If they were paralysed midair, they would plummet straight to the ground.

Then there was [Gravitational Calamity]. Needless to say, it would have a tremendous effect on individuals capable of flight.

[Beastcall Horn] was an obvious choice since most of them were Beast Masters.

With nothing else worthwhile to purchase using their remaining points, they decided to buy a high-grade healing potion and give it to Uraan, as he was more likely to face individual danger while flying alone in the sky.

As for the remaining 3 points, a surprise low-level equipment shop had opened, and Leo simply chose 3 throwing knives equipped with a flashbang effect that could briefly blind enemies if thrown accurately.

Aside from those, they still had the [Voidshade Veil] they’d acquired earlier but hadn’t used, along with the many potions crafted by the Alchemist team.

They were all set for the event to finally begin.

Just 5 minutes before the next event began, the announcement board started displaying the information.

An Ancient Savage Beast is heading towards a large settlement to fulfil its energy and resource requirements to advance to the next stage.

Even after several high-level Beast Communicators attempted to persuade the beast to change course and head towards a different location, the beast remains adamant.

This leaves no choice but to kill it to keep the city safe.

Ancient Savage Beast Extermination Task:

Description:

- The two academy teams will work together. Neither team is allowed to intentionally harm students from the other academy.

- Together, they must kill the beast.

- There is no time limit. The event will continue until the beast is dead.

Winning Condition:

Deal the most damage.

Description:

Through a critical analysis of the beast’s physiology, structure, and body shape, experts have created a digital footprint that allows them to determine exactly how much damage any individual can inflict.

The beast’s current condition is marked as 100%.

Any academy that deals more than 50% damage wins and gains 1 Master Point.

By the time the announcement ended, the timer was already counting down its final seconds.
