A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 448: Seraphina Elopes with Someone (4)

Seraphina Sterling’s last sentence was devastatingly effective, completely shattering Shelby Fenton’s confidence. She stumbled back a few steps and sank limply into a chair. Seraphina’s analysis had dismantled everything Shelby thought she knew. Even if she had relied on her own judgment, she would have come to the same conclusion.

“Once Leo Fenton inherits Fenton Bank, you’ll be nothing! Do you think Leo Fenton will be as generous as your father? Will you be able to continue the lavish lifestyle you’ve always been so proud of? So, you’d better keep a low profile now. Tone it down. Be careful not to offend people too much, because when you fall from grace, it’ll be everyone else’s turn to laugh at you! And being laughed at would be the best-case scenario. If they decide to take the opportunity to get revenge, what do you think your fate will be then?”

Shelby Fenton was so terrified by the future Seraphina had painted for her that her face turned pale and her forehead beaded with sweat. She couldn’t say a single word.

“Seraphina Sterling, in the end, this is all just your speculation! Today is about our competition. Don’t bring other, unrelated matters into this!” Preston Patterson had just finished his buy-in, getting it in right at the closing bell.

“Director Patterson is right.” Seraphina Sterling gave a warm smile, readily agreeing. In any case, her goal had already been achieved.

“Since both parties have completed their initial buy-ins, the final results will be determined at market close half a month from today! During this period, if either of you wishes to make any trades or adjustments, you must notify me. I will execute all transactions personally!” Hugo Xavier announced, hoping to keep the Fenton Family’s drama from escalating further.

Seraphina Sterling walked right out of the conference room. Her time was precious, and Shelby Fenton wasn’t worthy of having it wasted on her.

Marshal immediately followed her. “I never thought you’d defend me like that! I bet Shelby Fenton’s confidence is completely shattered now, thanks to you! But she really is clueless. Of all the people to pick a fight with, she just had to go after you! Isn’t that just asking for trouble? Seeing you fly off the handle for my sake, I’m truly touched!”

Seraphina Sterling rolled her eyes. “I didn’t do it for you. I just genuinely can’t stand Shelby Fenton. Don’t get the wrong idea.”

Even after being denied, Marshal kept his grin. “I know you girls get shy easily. It’s okay, you don’t have to deny it so quickly!”

“Other girls might be shy, but that doesn’t apply to me. I’ve had it in for Shelby Fenton for a long time, and I’ve been wanting to teach her a lesson for just as long. What just happened was merely a coincidence where she happened to be badmouthing you. Please don’t misunderstand. It was just a beautiful coincidence.”

Seraphina Sterling explained as she walked. She hated being misunderstood and preferred to clear things up from the start. It wasn’t narcissism; she just didn’t want to give anyone false hope romantically. It was best to avoid that kind of trouble whenever possible.

“I get it, I really do! You don’t have to explain! I understand!” Marshal’s smile grew even more suggestive, his tone like a boyfriend patiently indulging his willful girlfriend. With those words, it was as if there really was something going on between them.

Seraphina Sterling frowned. To be honest, she wasn’t good at handling these kinds of situations, especially with someone like Marshal who would just ignore the truth and force his own interpretation on her.

“I don’t think the young lady of the Fenton Family will be bothering us for a long time. If she’s smart, she’ll focus on securing her position as heir right now! This was really thanks to you. I was going to thank you properly, but then I thought, with our relationship, saying ‘thank you’ would just feel awkward! How about instead…”
