Chapter 1469: Chapter 1459: Petty Person

Upon returning to the Zhuang Family, both Mu Yan and Kong Lizhen had forgotten about the morning’s accident.

When they got home, they found two guests, more accurately, Zhuang Jiaoyang and Hu Zhiyuan.

The couple hadn’t appeared during the old lady’s recent critical moments, but they showed up today.

Mu Yan acted as if she hadn’t seen her, linking arms with Kong Lizhen, prepared to head straight upstairs.

She didn’t want to acknowledge them, but Zhuang Jiaoyang was not about to let her off.

"Not even a word of greeting for your elder?" Zhuang Jiaoyang said irritably.

Mu Yan gave her a glance, coldly saying, "I remember you’ve been expelled from the family, how does that make you my elder? I wouldn’t dare to have someone as malicious as you as an elder."

"What kind of attitude is that?" Zhuang Jiaoyang angrily stood up, glaring at Mu Yan.

"Alright, stop causing trouble." Next to her, Hu Zhiyuan tugged at her.

"Get lost!" Zhuang Jiaoyang flung him away, accidentally scratching his cheek, instantly leaving a bloody mark.

Hu Zhiyuan touched his face, looking displeased, but he dared not act out in the Zhuang Family.

"Enough, if you cause trouble again, get out." Ruan Xinyu said, unimpressed.

Zhuang Shaoyang grew increasingly unhappy, looking at Ruan Xinyu with dissatisfaction, saying, "This is my home, what right do you have to tell me to leave? I respect you as my sister-in-law, but if I don’t, you’re nothing."

Even with Ruan Xinyu’s high composure, she was angered by her words.

She sarcastically said, "Fine, where do I have the right to be your sister-in-law, Miss Zhuang."

Kong Lizhen suddenly sighed, "I can’t believe a military family like the Zhuang Family could raise such an arrogant, disrespectful daughter, it’s truly baffling."

Zhuang Jiaoyang had noticed Kong Lizhen earlier but always held herself in high regard and ignored her, assuming she was one of those ladies trying to curry favor with the Zhuang Family.

She sarcastically said, "What right do you have to speak to me? You’re just a flatterer hoping to gain from the Zhuang Family."

Mu Yan’s expression darkened, ready to speak, when she heard Kong Lizhen say, "Even if I’m a flatterer, as a daughter married out, you have no right to say anything, let alone considering you’ve been expelled. Returning now is out of your filial piety for the old lady. If you’re here just to cause trouble, then it’s better you don’t come back, wasting the old lady’s affection for you in vain."

"You..." Zhuang Jiaoyang’s face turned livid with anger.

"Ah Zhen is right; if you’re sincerely here to see Mom, we’re welcoming. If not, stay put there." Ruan Xinyu pointed towards the door.

Zhuang Jiaoyang was so angry she almost jumped, pointing at Ruan Xinyu and cursed, "How dare you help an outsider bullying me? My parents aren’t dead yet, and here you are trying to rule Zhuang Family, very impressive."

She turned her head, shouting towards the stairs, "Dad, Mom, your daughter is being bullied, come out and stand up for me."

Ruan Xinyu and Kong Lizhen exchanged a glance, seeing mutual speechlessness.

Yet, that very glance made Ruan Xinyu’s heart skip a beat, feeling that the expression was too familiar as if seen somewhere before.

"What’s all this noise? I’m not dead yet." The old lady’s displeased voice came from the stairs.

Everyone looked over to see the old lady being assisted by the family’s maid, coming down the stairs.

Ruan Xinyu promptly went upstairs to support her, "Mom, why did you come down?"
