Volume 16 Chapter 36: Plan My Wedding!

“Look at the man in love!” Keith shouted as Michael entered the barracks, yawning. His tiredness vanished immediately, replaced by a flush of shame on his cheeks. The knights’ grins were wide as they watched their flustered commander. Listening to their young master’s jeering, they followed suit.

“The man in love!”

“Our bear commander is no more! Only a love-sick puppy!”

“I saw them walking hand in hand with one another. Oh, so sweet!”

Naturally, they all saw the two’s date; the couple did not hide it!

Michael roared, “What are you all looking at! Go run laps, want me to chase you all?!”

“Wahh! The commander is so vicious!”

“He’s trying to silence us.”

“Young master, please save us!” The knights quickly hid behind Keith. But there was definitely laughter as they did. Michael’s face turned from red to blue as he was going to make sure he would get his revenge later.

Keith laughed, “Now, now. No need for you to blow a gasket. They’re just happy you’re able to find someone you could be with.” Who would have thought that Michael, of all people, would be dating? What made it surprising was Sarah. Hmm, it’s a good pairing. Michael, a super glutton, with Sarah, a restaurant owner; it was a good fit that could fill this gluttonous beast’s stomach.

“Is it that surprising I have a girlfriend?!”

“Yes.” Keith and the others spoke in unison.

“You understand you’re dense as a brick as well, right?” Michael growled.

Keith was a dense brick one, and Michael was a close second. Michael was an idiot, but he had many people who admired him. Being the commander of the knights of the Freed family was significant as well: it was a job that paid a lot, and he had a standing. Despite this, love was not on his mind. It made it even more embarrassing when women hit on him, as he thought it was something else.

“It’s so dense that it goes over your head.” One knight muttered.

“I still remember the time you got hit on, and you assumed it was her treating you to a meal.” Another sighed; that was one of the worst incidents. The bear got slapped in the face afterward.

“We all assumed you were going to die as a single man.”

“Huh?”

“You being a husband isn’t something we imagine.”

“Sarah really picked a crazy person as her boyfriend.”

“You should put a ring on it.” Another knight joked, “You don’t want her to run away after the rose-tinted glasses are off.”

“…”

Did we go too far? Seeing their commander tremble, they returned to hiding behind Keith for protection.

“I’m going to do it!” Michael roared as he dashed out of the barracks.

“...” Huh? Do it? Do what? Keith did not understand; he glanced at the knights, “What is he planning to do?” The knights shrugged; no one had an idea.

Inside, Keith found a peaceful atmosphere. Julius and the other kings had left the mansion. Noticing the three playing, he asked, “Are you three on break?”

“Mmhmm!”

“Grandma told us to rest,” Sophia, on the side, nodded.

“Good.” Keith rubbed their head. It was normal for them to rest. Plus, they had earned enough coins from these last few days.

“You guys worked hard.”

“Do you really think so?” Derek and Eric looked at Keith funnily. It was an understatement. The amount of coins they made was equivalent to a month’s worth of wages for a regular person. Some citizens couldn’t believe the amount they made; one even muttered that they made more than his wage.

“What is the matter, little brother?” Eric noticed how Keith’s eyes continued to dart between Derek and him.

“Nothing much.”

“Come on, we’re brothers!” Derek grinned, “Tell us.”

“When will you two start dating?” As Keith asked, the atmosphere instantly went down.

“What?!” “Why did you say that?!” Derek and Eric’s eyes widened in horror. Why would their little brother say this?! It was asking for trouble!

“Yes, when are you two going to date?” Sophia put down her teacup as a smile enveloped her face. Her eyes curved into saucers as she stared at them.

“…” Eric and Derek wanted to cry. Why did they get brought up into this mess?! The more they thought about it, the more they wanted to cry. It was supposed to be a relaxing day.

William glanced away; he was not planning to assist his two children. Even he was worried about their future: two were already set in stone, the other two were up in the air. Plus, he didn’t dare get in his wife’s way. He did ask, “Son, why did you bring this up?”

“Michael and Sarah are dating now. I think everyone did not expect this.” The others nodded; Michael dating was not on anyone’s bingo card.

Keith continued, “That’s why I wonder why you two aren’t dating? You two have higher EQ than he.” Understatement: these two most certainly understood what love was.

“Talk.” Sophia’s eyes narrowed. Eric took a deep breath, “I am not interested in finding a partner at the moment; I want to increase my swordmanship.”

“Wrong answer.” Sophia’s eyes narrowed as she turned to Derek, “You?”

“No way!” Derek waved his hands, “I’m not getting myself a girlfriend. It’s too annoying.”

“…” What to do with these two.

Later in the day,

“Keith, may I speak with you?”

“Sure, Father.” Keith followed him. In the office, Michael was inside; Keith blinked before asking, “What’s the matter with your cheek?” He saw a giant slap mark that ran across the face. But that alone made him realize,

“Was that from Sarah?!” Only one person would slap him so directly.

William sighed, “That’s because this fool rushed out and proposed to Sarah.”

“Wait, what?!” Keith’s eyes widened.

William explained further, “He thought it was a good idea to propose to her and make them husband and wife.”

“…Are you insane?” Keith looked at him, but the man scoffed, “Of course I have to say something! It was worth it! She said yes!”

“She said yes to you?!” That was so unexpected.

“That’s why I have something to request of you.”

“…What?”

“Plan my wedding!”

“Shouldn’t you ask someone else about this?” Keith blinked. Why was he the one to do this?

“NO!” Michael eyed him, “It has to be you.”
