A God Killed Me By Accident, But I Reincarnated As The 4th Son Of The Marquis
Volume 16 Chapter 37: Milly’s Worry
“It turns out I will organize Michael and Sarah’s wedding reception.” Keith clapped his hands as he spoke to Orin and Douglas. He had gone to Ignis Hammer the next morning after receiving the task.
Orin grumbled, “I feel bad for you, child. That fool really loves to place you in those types of situations.” Well, Michael was not wrong in his decision—if you have a cook capable of making remarkable dishes, why shouldn’t he ask them to be their chef?! Heck, he might have done the same!
This was something he was going to take to the grave.
“Wow, Michael proposed to Sarah. I didn’t think he would go through with it so soon.” Douglas muttered in amazement. Everyone knew about the two’s relationship: their relationship was three months old. They did not hide it at all. But this was unexpected: getting married so soon threw them for a loop.
“The two were close to one another even before they started dating.” Michael and the other knights would head to her restaurant to eat.
Orin turned to Keith, “Good luck with this.”
“You’re not getting off this either. You will be helping me prepare the venue.”
“Huh?” The two spoke before Keith handed them a letter, “He’s commissioning the Ignis Hammer to make the venue for him.” Michael was really calling everyone to his cause.
Orin’s head bulged wildly, “Does he think we’re his personal construction crew?!”
“Yes.” Keith would not deny that. Remembering how nonchalant Michael was, that was definitely the case.
The dwarf was about to lose it before he took a sip of his coffee, “When do we have to finish?”
“In three weeks.”
“Three weeks?!” Orin and Douglas’s mouths froze in place as their eyes slowly glazed over. Keith nodded in resignation—three weeks was not enough time to construct a venue. However, Michael did not want to wait long to marry Sarah, afraid she might go back, which would not happen. That man was definitely getting a beating when they saw him.
Keith added, “The wedding will be held in our backyard; they said they wanted to keep it small.” Only close family and a few guests could attend.
“What do we have to do first?” Despite his grumbling, Orin focused on the task.
“For starters, we need to design it.” Keith brought out some blueprints, “What they had in mind was to keep it elegant but minimalistic.”
“His words?”
“Yes.” Keith discussed with Michael and Sarah what they wanted for their wedding. The couple wished their venue to be classy but not extravagant. They didn’t want it to be the same as a wedding of a noble.
“Alright, we can manage this.” Orin nodded; the discussion continued for an hour.
“We grasped the essence of it. We’ll start the moment we procure all the materials.”
“Thanks a lot.” The construction was prepared. Keith left the workshop as there were other matters to attend to. On his way back to the mansion, he spotted someone.
“Hello, Milly. Are you out on an errand for Sarah?” Keith waved to get her attention. But the woman didn’t reply as she continued to walk—the expression she had was odd.
“Is something the matter?” Her gaze looked aimless.
“Young Master, can I speak to you for a moment?”
“Sure.” The two found a bench and sat down.
“You want to talk about Michael, right?”
“How did you know?”
“Because he’s probably the only one on your mind at this moment.” Milly was Sarah’s daughter. If Michael married her, then Milly would be his stepdaughter.
“...I don’t know how to feel about this,” Milly muttered. She had conversed with Michael many times before—but as a customer and server. Now, this person was about to become her father.
“Is it wrong for me to feel strange?” She didn’t disagree with the two’s marriage, but it was odd to her at the same time.
“It’s normal to feel this way; it will be a massive change in your life going forward.” If he remembered correctly, Sarah married no one after her first husband. That included dating as well. It was an enormous step for all three individuals.
“You know Michael is a fine man, right?”
“Mmhmm.” Milly nodded, “He may be brash, but I know he treats my mom well.” His consideration for her mother was something Milly had witnessed many times before: even though he was reckless, he always minded Sarah’s feelings first.
“Then you’re going to be fine.”
“Eh?”
“It takes time to adjust. Just talk with him some more, and this feeling will disappear.” Keith laughed. “Well, anger might replace it with how much of a fool Michael is.” There would be many times Michael would infuriate both ladies. However,
“He would always be there for you.” No matter what, Michael was there for his people.
“Young master, I’m slightly older than you. But why does it feel like you’re the older one?”
“Don’t know, but I feel like this.” Keith laughed. After talking with Milly some more, Keith returned home. May was at the door, “May, what is the matter?”
“Keith, this is for you.” May handed him a letter, “Orin had sent the list to us, and we’re going to have to go there to buy it.”
“Okay, then we’ll head over there.” Keith stretched his hands into the air.
Sophia clapped her hands. “It’s been so long since we have seen a wedding.”
