Zombie Apocalypse: Creation

Chapter 886: A Confusing Request

  • Next Chapter

A few minutes later.

Xiaoyun was sitting on the sofa with several lingering red marks on his face. Lily was long gone as she headed out for class.

Only the two of them were at the house, other than the babies peacefully napping in their bedrooms.

"That hurt so much..."

Xiaoyun murmured as he reached for the red mark on his face, only to pull his hand away when it stung.

"Hmph! That’s what you get for making me kiss Lily." Leyan pointed out angrily as she crossed her arms.

"My bad... It was just a prank."

"It wasn’t funny."

"Okay then. Sorry for the unfunny prank."

As Xiaoyun apologized again, Leyan’s anger finally subsided a little as she noticed the red mark remained on his face.

"You want me to go get some cream?"

"It’s fine—Ouch!"

"Let go get it for you."

Leyan quickly got up from the sofa, heading over to the TV before bending down to something out of the drawer.

Within seconds, Xiaoyun’s body reacted. He could see her round, voluptuous ass being tightly held together by the blue jeans.

"Don’t move when I’m applying the cream to your face, okay?"

Xiaoyun nodded his head as she came back to the sofa with a small bottle of steroid cream in her hand.

The moment Leyan started gently applying the cream to his face, a cooling sensation ran through the lingering burning sensation.

"Don’t move."

As she repeated her warning, Xiaoyun remained completely still as she started applying the cream below his eyes.

"Now it should be good... Don’t touch your face until it dries up."

Xiaoyun nodded his head again as he kept his mouth shut, not wanting to accidently have his upper lip touch some of the cream down on his chin.

"Don’t you ever do that again, okay?" Leyan suddenly brought it up again as she still looked annoyed by what he had done earlier.

"Okay."

Neither of them spoke up again as they sat on the sofa together... Until Leyan whispered something under her breath.

"Thank you..."

"Hm?"

"I said thank you."

"What are you thanking me for?"

"You... Never mind."

As Leyan rolled her eyes, Xiaoyun was both intrigued and confused by her sudden gratitude out of nowhere.

"Come on, just say it."

After a whole minute had gone by with both sides not speaking up, Leyan once again broke the silence.

"You gave me a way to save face. There, you happy?"

"I did that?"

"Of course you did. Without you making the two of us apologize, I wouldn’t even know how long this standoff between me and Lily was going to last."

"You serious? I thought you two were just acting out a petty feud in front of me."

As Leyan stared into his eyes, Xiaoyun quickly realized he might have said the wrong things out loud.

"Okay, great job to myself and the two of you. I’m more than happy to help resolve the problem between you guys."

"Hmph!"

Just as she turned around and looked over to the other side, Xiaoyun really felt the urge to ask if they really had been feuding over this for the past week.

But in the end, he resisted the temptation. Every part of his brain told him it was a really bad time and the wrong person to ask this.

"Ahem, how’s everyone been doing? Is everyone’s life continuing as normal while I was gone?"

"Yeah..."

The living room fell into silence until Leyan turned around and looked back at him, meeting his eyes.

"Xiaoyun... Do you have to go on this trip?"

"I do."

Xiaoyun didn’t give any excuses. No comment other than a determined look, as he didn’t shy away from her.

"Even when we’re all going to miss you? When all the babies miss having their father in their lives?"

"You know I have to. I don’t want to repeat myself."

This time, Leyan didn’t pressure him again. She turned around, looking down at the floor with a depressed face.

"I guess that’s what I get for marrying a busy man..."

"Don’t make it sound like I’m not coming back. It’s not going to be a repeat of last time. I promise."

Xiaoyun quickly grabbed her hand. Yet she still didn’t look cheered up by the promise, not even in the slightest.

"You say that every time you go out."

"And I came back every time. Even the first time I came back... It was just a little longer than you had expected."

As Xiaoyun let out a small chuckle near the end, Leyan let out a small hmph sound before staring him right in the eyes.

"I better see you before the end of the year."

"I’ll try."

"I want you to promise me."

"Didn’t I already promise that? What are we? Children?" Xiaoyun questioned as he saw her sticking her pinky out.

"I want to hear it again."

"Okay, fine. I promise."

Xiaoyun stuck out his pinky as they sealed the promise to each other, singing a little song before letting each other go.

"There, you happy?"

"Mhm."

Just as he was about to put his arms around her back, her phone suddenly started ringing as if someone was calling her.

"Oh snap, the babies are up."

"Let me go help you."

---

As noon turned into the evening, Xiaoyun was sitting on the floor in the kitchen, playing with his kids while Leyan took care of the toddlers.

Everything was going smoothly until somebody showed up at the doorstep.

"Xiaoyun, can you go answer the door?"

"On it."

Getting up and walking over, he checked the peephole, only to see a familiar face that he hadn’t seen for a while.

"Hey, Zhangfei. Long time no see... You’re three days early."

"Sorry for the sudden intrusion." Zhangfei apologized as unarmed guards stood right behind him.

"It’s fine. Come on in."

As Xiaoyun welcomed Zhangfei into the house, neither of the guards chose to follow inside as he closed the door.

"What made you decide to visit my home?"

"My dad wants to talk to you for a moment."

"Your dad? Wait a second... Leyan, can you bring the kids back to the room first?"

Leyan quickly emerged from the kitchen, holding the kids’ hands one by one before bringing them over into the hallway.

"Where’s your dad?"

"Here."

Zhangfei quickly took out a brick satellite phone from his pocket, clicking a few buttons before he handed it over to Xiaoyun.

"Hello?"

"Is this the governor of Guangdong?" A firm voice came from the other side of the phone.

"Yes, this is the temporary governor. What do you want to talk about?" Xiaoyun asked back bluntly, not wasting any time.

"No need to be so humble. Ahem, how much do you know about the north?" The firm voice asked.

"I know a few things..."

As Xiaoyun listed one of the few things he remembered from the intelligence meeting, the firm voice on the other side sounded a little surprised.

"You certainly know a lot more than I had imagined."

"Thank you for the compliment. So is this call you trying to inform me about the situation on the north?"

"No, quite the opposite. This call has nothing to do with it... I just want to ask you about something."

"Can you just be more direct?"

After a short freeze, the other side finally made the request that made Xiaoyun’s brain short-circuit.

"Are you willing to marry my daughter?"

"What?"

Not once in Xiaoyun’s mind did he ever expect such a question to come out. A request that flew right over his head.

"Ahem, I said. Can you marry my daughter?"

"The answer is no. I’m already married." Xiaoyun calmly answered, not giving him another chance to speak up.

"You sure? My daughter is extremely beautiful—"

"I’m already married to nine wives and have more kids than anyone could ever imagine. Your daughter should never think of marrying me."

This time, the other side fell silent. It wasn’t until Xiaoyun spoke up that the other side responded.

"If I didn’t make myself clear, I’m not marrying anyone else. I’m already satisfied and happily married to my wivies."

"Very well... Then I hope to meet you in person in a few days."

As the other side ended the phone call, Xiaoyun was still a little confused by the offer from Zhangfei’s father.

"Why did your father try to advertise your sister to me?" Xiaoyun questioned as he looked over at Zhangfei’s face

"Really? He did that?"

Zhangfei questioned back, looking a little surprised as if he himself didn’t know why his dad wanted to talk with Xiaoyun.

"Yeah... Anyway. Here’s your phone back."

With the brick phone handed back over, Zhangfei still remained seated as he showed no signs of leaving at all.

Instead, he was looking around the house, seemingly in awe of the furniture and the stuff around him.

"Xiaoyun, I never knew you lived in such luxury."
