Leon’s eyes narrowed. "Is that so...? How strong are their forces?"

Marie’s expression darkened. "Much stronger than ours. They have two Tier Two Evolvers among their ranks and several Tier One Evolvers. Their army numbers up to three thousand, and they have access to modern weaponry too."

Leon listened slowly, then sighed. "Three thousand, huh? How many do we have now?"

"Not much." Marie shook her head. "We have approximately one thousand, five hundred Evolvers, with the majority of them being between Level 20-25."

Leon closed his eyes and tilted his head, thinking.

After a full minute of silence, he said, "Tomorrow, we hit them."

Marie blinked, stunned. "Tomorrow? Don’t we need preparations or something?"

Leon shook his head. "No. As long as they don’t have any Tier Three Evolvers, then we’re fine. Even if they did..."

He glanced at Selene, and she smiled faintly.

"Well, are there any other problems?"

Marie shook her head. "They’ve been our only headache and the reason why we haven’t been able to complete all our constructions."

Leon hummed and stood up with Nora in his arms. "Let’s get something to eat first, I’m famished."

The maids had already prepared this in advance, so they simply moved to the dining hall to eat.

"So... tell us, Boss. How did your trip go?" Richard asked, showing a small grin on his face.

Leon glanced at the guy and chuckled. "Well, it was certainly not boring."

Meow!

Rune meowed, agreeing with him. Selene patted its head, her gaze locked on Leon.

"Yeah, Boss. You still haven’t told us where you disappeared to. Come on, gist us. Did you travel to Japan or something?" Miguel added, surprising Richard.

"Huh? What are you talking about? Didn’t you all go together?"

He paused, then looked around. No one seemed as surprised as he was.

"Hey, am I missing something?"

Miguel looked at him with an expression of pity. "...Son."

Richard scowled, then turned back to Leon. "Boss, you won’t keep me in the dark, right?"

Leon nodded. "Alright, alright. On our way back, we stopped at Bayonne, and I went to another world with Selene."

The room froze, and everyone stared at him in shock. Several eyes immediately turned to Selene for confirmation, and when she nodded, realization sank in.

"Wait. How did you go? This is so confusing," Gwen asked, genuinely astonished.

Leon took a sip of wine from his cup, then explained. "It’s related to my evolution requirements for Tier Two. I have to go to another world and get something called the Heart. So, I went... and she decided to tag along since she wanted to kill stronger beasts."

Reymond turned to Selene, finally understanding the whole situation.

’Ugh. But I’m still upset she didn’t say goodbye or anything. At least, Leon told everyone he was leaving.’

Shaking his head, he turned back to Leon.

"I can’t be going into details since it was a long journey." He paused, eating a little before he continued. "Anyway, we encountered a civilization of aliens, and they tried to kill us cuz we’re white—racism at its peak. So, there were a few fights, and we both came close to dying. But in the end, we got what we want, and they got what was coming to them. Story ends."

"Wahhh! I wanna go to another world too!"

Seated beside him, Nora cheered, thrilled by the story he had just shared.

Leon smiled stiffly. "Haha, you should probably shelve those thoughts for now. Anyway, Selene is now Tier Two—all thanks to me..."

He paused, catching a table knife that was thrown straight at his head. His lips twitched, and he put down the knife. Avoiding her gaze, he continued smugly.

"...and I’m also a few steps closer to reaching Tier Two."

Selene shook her head and added, "Congratulations. I’m also on my first step to becoming Tier Three."

Everyone turned to her, shocked.

"You’re peak Tier Two already?" Leon asked, astonishment in his eyes.

Selene nodded. "You’re right."

"Damn. Seems I’ve gotten complacent with my meager Tier One strength. Fuck!" Miguel mumbled to himself, mirroring the thoughts of Richard and Reymond.

Marie smiled confidently. "In that case, we have nothing to worry about. I’ll put off evolving to Tier Two for now and wait until we take over that annoying camp."

Leon turned to her, surprised. "You’ve completed all your requirements? Congratulations."

Her smile turned warm. "Thank you, Leon."

He noticed how she changed the way she addressed him again, but he didn’t mind. He merely smiled and nodded stiffly.

After all, someone was currently resting her racks on his head, making him slowly lose his composure.

Gwen took a sip of her own wine and looked in his direction. He didn’t know what she did, but she choked and immediately looked away.

’Ah...sorry.’

He smiled bitterly, then said, "Alright, everyone. Let’s eat and get some rest. Tomorrow would be a little hectic."

With that, they all dropped the serious atmosphere and began eating. Leon, Miguel, and Richard are like hungry wolves, devouring plates of food like they were nothing.

The three men competed with themselves, only to be shocked when someone else joined the competition.

"Rune?"

Leon blinked, wiping his lips with a napkin. The cat ignored him, consuming a full plate of pasta in just three bites.

Childish as it might have seemed, a fire of competitiveness burned in him, and he increased his pace.

Miguel and Richard did the same, causing the maids to get busy with changing plates every five minutes.

In the end, the humans lost and the cat won.

Leon burped into his fist, then stood up. "Alright... i’mma pull an all-nighter now. See you all tomorrow."

They all stared at him in confusion as he stiffly headed to his room upstairs. Only Gwen understood, and her face reddened.

Nora blinked in confusion and stopped him. "Dad, are you not staying with us tonight?"

Leon froze on the stairs, then shook his head. "Tomorrow, princess. I need to fight an inner demon tonight."

Before she could ask what an inner demon was, he had already disappeared.
