World Evolution Apocalypse: I Possess The Extraction Ability
Chapter 333: The Universe Listens
The land was beautiful and prosperous, filled with vibrant leaves, large fruits, and clear waters.
Thyra sat on smooth rock shaped like dinosaur eggs from prehistoric times, her smooth legs swinging slowly in the lake.
She stared blankly at the lake, a small smile on her face.
"Boom!"
Asmodeus snuck up on her from behind, handing a red apple to her.
Thyra shifted her gaze to the apple, then took it. "Thank you."
This wasn’t just any apple, but one that was specially cultivated for ghosts to eat. Thyra could be considered a ghost, so it was perfect for her.
Asmodeus nodded, humming heartily as she moved around her. "You’ve been smiling often lately. Care to tell me the good news?"
She stopped before the white-horned demon, her cute red eyes blinking with mischief.
Thyra munched on the apple and pursed her lips.
"It’s nothing. I just remembered a few interesting moments of my life."
Asmodeus’s eyes narrowed. "Really? I can tell when you’re being vague, Little Tee."
The beautiful succubus shook her head, then paused. Asmodeus did the same, interest flickering in her eyes.
They both heard the voice of the Star Stream, and a string of texts appeared before their eyes.
[The Darkness Addict is writing an Epic.]
Thyra blinked, then froze. ’... Leon?’
Her brain short-circuited for a few seconds, and she could only stare at the texts as they were displayed.
Seemingly unaware of her reaction, Asmodeus mused. "’The’ Darkness Addict...? Not ’A’ Darkness Addict. That’s a surprisingly specific Class, don’t you think?"
Thyra still didn’t respond.
Not minding that, Asmodeus continued to listen and read. "Oh, this person seems like quite a treacherous schemer. But to doom an entire world, who could it be...?"
Epics were usually written by entities from Tier Five and above. After all, only beings at that level had the ability to create something recognizable by the Star Stream.
And every living Tier Five, except for the reclusive ones who chose to hide themselves, had joined a constellation.
So it was only natural that Asmodeus was curious about the so-called Darkness Addict.
’Darkness. Could it be from our constellation?’
As the Epic ended, Asmodeus noticed Thyra standing up.
The demon’s expression was the same, but Asmodeus could tell that she was anxious.
’Right. She’s a Shadow Demon too. Could it be someone from her race?’
Asmodeus shifted closer to her and asked, "Do you know this person? The Darkness Addict?"
Thyra’s expression became calm, her anxiousness masked behind an aloof expression.
"Yes. I know him."
"Oh?" Asmodeus’s eyes glinted, as she didn’t expect that Thyra would say the truth. "So he’s part of our Demon Constellation? Let’s go meet him! I want to see which world he doomed! The Epic said he’s powerless so I wonder how he did that!"
If the Star Stream said a Tier Five was powerless, then his enemies had to be far stronger than he was. Probably a Tier Six world.
Thinking about it, Asmodeus’s brows furrowed. That didn’t make sense. Why would a Tier Six world be considered a Dying World? That seemed unreasonable.
Any world that could evolve to Tier Six was undeniably a strong one. It definitely couldn’t be a dying world.
Thyra turned away from her, impatient and ready to leave. "I’m sorry, Asmodeus. But you cannot follow me. Also, he’s not from any constellation so you can rest assured that I’m not betraying you."
Asmodeus blinked, then watched as she vanished.
"Damn. She even erased her tracks? Heh~? Little Thyra is starting to get a little secretive."
She could have easily followed her and tracked her, but she held back her curiosity and turned around.
"Well, time to go find that lazy bum and discuss this with him. I’m sure he’ll love to hear the story."
She folded her arms behind her back, skipping like an innocent child out to play.
Meanwhile, Thyra paused outside the planet, glancing back to ensure no one was following her. Sensing no one nearby, she sighed in relief.
"Thank you, Asmodeus."
With that, she took one quick step and left. As soon as she left, another appeared where she had been standing. With his white hair reaching his backside, he looked like a stunning doll.
He glanced at the space Thyra had disappeared to, then shook his head.
"Since Little Ass—oops. Did I say that out loud?"
He covered his lips, glancing around furtively.
’Since Asmodeus doesn’t want to poke her nose, then I probably shouldn’t do that either.’
Turning back, he returned to the planet to meet up with the red-headed demon who wanted to see him.
In less than a minute, Thyra appeared on Earth. Her first stop was Eternal Night City.
She ignored everything going on and searched for Leon. However, he wasn’t there. She quickly appeared in Bayonne and searched for him there.
He wasn’t there too. Selene wasn’t around either, which meant that they hadn’t returned yet.
’Looks like I can only wait. But this... writing an Epic...’
Her fingers trembled slightly. She couldn’t help but feel shocked, worried, and excited.
With nothing to do, she settled for stalking Gwen in the hopes that the young lady would activate her perception skill and notice her.
Sadly, Gwen wasn’t even thinking about that. Her mind was focused on something else entirely as she chatted with Marie on the phone.
.........
Meanwhile, Leon hadn’t immediately left the dying planet after he completed his requirement.
Instead, he stayed behind for a few days, waiting for Selene to wake up. The potion he had used only lasted two weeks and a few days, so she was due to wake up soon.
The world had changed so much—at least the central continent.
Far in the north, the Tier Four serpent hid in the mountains, licking its wounds after the calamitous battle with the Tier Four parasite. It had managed to kill the abomination, but it didn’t escape unscathed.
The Dome—last bastion of the Vaelari—had become a ruined city just like the others. When the dome protecting them from parasites vanished, some of them fled. They were the ones who survived.
The others, consumed by their rage and venting it upon each other in a burst of despair were immediately consumed by the parasites that rushed past the army outside the city. They had tried to rally their numbers and fight back, but what could they do?
They were simply too few in number. The parasites quickly overwhelmed them.
King Jared left the battlefield injured, but victorious. He had claimed the head of the former king. However, he felt no joy.
Instead, his heart was filled with sadness and gloom. He had walked through the city, witnessing the carnage and massacre of his people. Yet he could not stop it.
He could only protect himself and head to the castle. When he got there, his heart sank. The princes, butlers, and guards had jumped the women in the royal palace, unleashing their dark lust upon them.
Even the queens hadn’t been spared; they were abused until they could no longer endure it.
"Ah...ah...!"
King Jared held his head, a broken scream escaping his throat. Madness clawed its way into his eyes, and he tore them out.
Then, using his own weapon with which he had slain countless enemies, he beheaded himself.
Unaware of this, Leon quietly recovered in the bunker, taking care of himself and the cat with nutritious meat from the beasts he hunted.
After looting the restaurants of the city, he now had a stash of ingredients to cook a proper meal.
As he prepared a pot of appetizing stew, the limp figure of Selene on the bed stirred.
