Chapter 332: Epic: World Ender [20 GT Bonus Chapter]

Leon’s gaze snapped to the First Queen again, and he asked, killing intent lacing his voice.

"What is this throne made of?"

The woman froze, but still didn’t answer. Leon’s eyes flashed coldly, and he beheaded the prince that had fallen unconscious.

"Ah!"

The princesses screamed in fear while the other princes glared at him with rage and hatred.

"Still not going to talk?" Leon raised an eyebrow, then killed another prince.

They all had shadows, so they could not escape his attacks. Seeing another one fall, the remaining princes and princesses were terrified. Gritting her teeth, the Second Queen spoke.

"T-The throne is made from ymthril metal."

Leon’s brows furrowed. "Ym-what? Forget that. What I’m asking about are these gold markings."

The Second Queen hesitated, then answered. "They’re obtained from a rare species of beasts called Moon Cats. They’re usually weak and easy to hunt, so—"

She abruptly stopped and raised her head. Leon was right before her, his hand around her throat.

The First Queen tried to protect her, but he casually knocked her away.

"Did you say you killed Moon Cats to make this throne?"

She clawed at his hand, nodding weakly.

"I see."

Leon released her and stepped back. She stared at him in surprise, not expecting him to actually let her go.

He walked back to the throne, then took out his spear.

Bang!

He struck at the royal seat, slicing it apart without hesitation.

"No!!!"

The First Queen shouted in shock, seeing the mighty throne fall apart. Leon ignored her and teleported directly onto the top of the castle. His expression was blank, and his eyes barely held any emotions.

He simply looked... tired.

From this height, he could see the whole of the city and the people moving about. He didn’t know where Merlin was, and he didn’t really care.

He watched them all from above for a few seconds, then raised his hand. Clutched in his grasp was the Heart, still pulsing weakly.

He stared at it for a while before muttering.

"Really... a dying world."

With that, he crushed it. The Heart didn’t burst open like a literal organ. It simply shattered into pink particles, vanishing into the air.

The transparent dome surrounding the city flickered, then faded.

Every Vaelari froze, looking up in shock and horror. Even the warriors fighting outside paused, stupefied.

Still standing atop the castle, Leon blinked as a familiar voice entered his ears. He had only heard the voice once; back when the Star Stream had first recognized Earth.

It was the voice of the Star Stream.

[The Darkness Addict is writing an Epic.]

He stared at the words that appeared before him in confusion, hearing the voice in his mind. He wasn’t alone; every living being could see and hear it as well.

The Vaelari glanced at each other, confused and bewildered. What was this?

The Star Stream didn’t stop.

[A dark soul wandered into a dying world, seeking what he did not know.]

The voice continued slowly.

[He endured the hatred he did not deserve.]

[For a time, he bore it all in silence. He did not hate them. Until one day, he did.]

[When his tolerance finally reached its end... he turned against them.]

[The wanderer had no power to destroy his enemies, so he made the world fight for him.]

There was a pause, as if the Star Stream was letting everyone digest the information. Then, after a few seconds, it continued.

[With his own hands, the calamity of the land was given form.]

[The creatures of the dying world answered his call, and the damnation of an entire race was set in stone.]

[Yet the wanderer did not stop there.]

The voice turned colder, carrying a subtle undertone.

[For the walls of a city could be rebuilt, and its warriors could be slain and replaced.]

[Hope could survive upon the ruins of everything else.]

[So he reached for the one thing they could never replace—the Heart.]

[The protection they had clung to for generations vanished.]

[The sanctuary became a grave waiting to be filled.]

[And the wanderer stood above it all, silent. They had earned his wrath, and he had delivered his verdict.]

[He had entered the world searching for something he did not understand.]

[He would leave it as the one who decided its fate.]

Leon read everything, stupefied. ’Is this a story about... me?’

Again, the texts flashed before his eyes, but this time, they were private and accompanied by no voice.

[You have written an Epic—World Ender!]

[Your tales have been told, and your records have been archived.]

[Create a tale, to tell existence.]

[You have been recognized.]

He had no idea what had just happened, but he knew it was significant. Lowering his hand, he looked around the city.

In just a few seconds, the entire city was in chaos and despair. Despair gave way to dark emotions, and they vented it on their surroundings.

Flames consumed buildings, bringing them down in hot brightness.

They unleashed the darkness in their hearts.

Leon watched it all with indifference, until his eyes landed on someone. His expression flickered, and he vanished from his position in a flash of light.

Reappearing within the inner city, he stood behind a young boy who watched as his parents fought. Years of suppressed anger toward each other was unleashed.

Placing a hand on the boy’s shoulder, Leon called out, "Merlin."

The boy flinched, then slowly turned around. "... Leon?"

Leon closed his eyes and pulled the boy through the shadows. They reappeared underneath the city, inside the underground drainage.

"You can choose to stay behind. You can choose to escape from this hell. The choice is yours."

With that, he turned around, ready to leave.

"Wait," Merlin said, stopping him in his tracks. "Is... is Miss Selene alright?"

Leon glanced back at him, then nodded. The next moment, he was no longer there. He reappeared on the surface and looked around him.

It was chaos.

’Disgusting.’

Shaking his head, he concealed himself and quietly left the city.

Unknown to him, his tales had not merely reached the ears and eyes of the Vaelari... but the entire universe.
