Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 518 -372: World Rectification Ceremony (Part 3)
However, the difficulty was also plain to see.
This wasn’t something that could be solved by simply becoming a Knight.
For a Wizard, becoming a Knight wasn’t difficult at all—it was just a matter of a single Magic Potion. In fact, many Tier One Wizards and Arcanists would drink a Magic Potion to enhance their physical bodies, simply to gain the stamina to work for days and nights on end.
But!
One couldn’t become a Knight just by chugging a potion. The powerful will forged in combat and training was the core of a Knight’s entire life. Without that iron will, it was impossible to master the Furnace Skill.
Of course, this wasn’t to say that Wizards lacked powerful wills—their focus was just different.
As a quintessential Wizard, Philo certainly didn’t meet the requirements. Furthermore, she didn’t have a second Magic Pet to absorb the knightly Faith for her.
She currently had two potential solutions. The first was a second Magic Pet. ‘This one can be dismissed,’ Isaac thought. For a Wizard, a Magic Pet was equivalent to a second self, possessing the same infinite potential, so it could indeed satisfy Philo’s requirements.
But!
The research into acquiring a second Magic Pet was far more difficult than Philo’s three-in-one project; it would be enough to qualify as a Heroic accomplishment.
The other was more pragmatic: creating a related High-level Curse.
A High-level Curse was a special Magic Spell that only one person could master, and it possessed immense power. If a High-level Curse with the desired effect truly existed, it would indeed solve her problem.
The inspiration for this came from another High-level Curse: “Fighting like a knight in bloody combat.”
Its effect granted the user Combat Techniques comparable to a Knight of the same Level. It was a rather practical High-level Curse… if one’s goal was to train Knights, that is.
However, the only known method for producing a High-level Curse was a Legendary Mage’s Legend. This ability was difficult to control and relied entirely on luck. Isaac… did not recommend it.
Soon, Isaac had finished reading all the experimental logs and had a general grasp of Philo’s research. He glanced at Angel with a hint of regret. ‘What a shame. I thought I could use this to test her, but the difficulty is far beyond that.’
Of course, that was to be expected. Philo was, after all, a bona fide Wizard. Her research abilities were not something a magical brute like Angel could hope to match.
After finishing the logs, Isaac casually pulled a file with more specific experimental data from a nearby stack. He began to read, nodding at times and shaking his head at others as long-forgotten memories slowly surfaced in his mind.
Isaac had, of course, toyed with the idea of researching the three-in-one Faith himself. After all, the Extraordinary Power gained from absorbing even a single type of Power of Faith was immense. A three-in-one version? The potential was staggering.
But he ultimately abandoned the idea. The reason was simple: it was a dead end.
At least, that was how it appeared. Existing research suggested that the three-in-one Power of Faith was the same Power of Faith used by the Deities before the age of Wizards…
The conclusion seemed far-fetched. After all, there was no significant difference in the nature of power between the current Deities and those of the past. If there were, the path of the Knight of God wouldn’t be so well-established.
And yet, that was what the research indicated. There had to be other factors at play, but that was a topic for Wizards of Tier Five or higher. Furthermore, the research into the three-in-one Faith was exceedingly difficult; without significant status and a domain of one’s own, one couldn’t even begin to support it.
That was why Isaac never delved too deeply into the field. Nevertheless, his initial thoughts on the matter had left him with several flashes of inspiration.
As he flipped through Philo’s experimental data, an idea began to take shape in Isaac’s mind…
