Chapter 509: Chapter 366: Isaac: Open Up! Delivering Benefits

"Time Magic?" Angel pondered for a moment, then nodded and said, "But I should state this upfront, I don’t know much about Time Magic myself. I’ll do my best to tell you what I know, but whether you can learn it is up to you."

Hearing this, Isaac nodded. He knew she was telling the truth.

Although Angel looked like a motivated Witch, in the end, she was still just a Witch. Her understanding of Magic wouldn’t be too deep, especially for something as extraordinary as Time Magic. She likely only used it based on instinct.

However, Isaac only needed a starting point. He would figure out the rest on his own.

"When does the experiment start?"

"Let’s wait until you’re finished here." Hearing Angel’s question, Isaac looked up at the World Tree behind her.

He had originally planned to start as soon as he got permission. The initial stages of his research on Witches would primarily involve Observation. But since Angel wanted to participate and learn, he would have to adjust his plan slightly.

At the very least, she probably couldn’t get away right now.

Angel was stunned for a moment, then smiled and nodded. For the first time, her opinion of Isaac had changed, just a little. ’Perhaps this person isn’t what he seems on the surface?’

’He’s actually pretty nice.’

"As it happens, I need to figure out how to optimize my trading ritual. I don’t know what’s been going on lately, but no Outer Gods have been responding to it. It’s a hassle." Isaac sighed helplessly.

Angel: "..."

She took back her previous thought. This person was truly insane!

And beyond saving!

The corners of all three Angels’ mouths twitched simultaneously. They all chose not to discuss this topic any further with Isaac. After a moment of silence, Angel began to ask Isaac about some problems she had encountered in her studies.

Seeing the "trio" change the subject so abruptly, Isaac could guess what they were thinking. He didn’t press the issue and began to answer Angel’s questions one by one.

Angel asked some very basic questions, but...

After answering a few questions, Isaac interrupted Angel and asked quizzically, "Are you entirely self-taught?"

Angel’s brow furrowed slightly as she nodded. "Yes. I thought about finding a tutor, but... no one would come..."

Angel had a helpless look on her face.

People say that Mad Witches are disliked, but the situation for Witches isn’t much better, even in the Witch Country.

The only difference in their situations was that Witches could empathize with each other. Isaac didn’t get that kind of treatment; not only did the other Mad Witches not empathize with him, they even called him a madman!

How outrageous!

However, the better situation for Witches was limited to their interactions with other Witches. Outside the Witch Country, everyone else still saw them as lunatics and psychopaths—including Mad Witches...

That was why even though Angel offered a fortune, she couldn’t hire an Arcanist as a teacher. The powerful ones looked down on the job, and the weak ones didn’t dare to come. So, she could only teach herself.

And because of this, she developed the same flaw as Isaac: greed!

She wanted to learn everything, but as a result, she only learned a little bit of everything.

But the difference between them was that Isaac’s power system was built on Knowledge. Whether his studies were diverse or specialized, they were all useful; it was merely a matter of choosing a path. Angel, however, was a Witch. She needed knowledge that would benefit her own power system, not just any knowledge.

Of course, the most important thing was that Isaac had a cheat. He could walk a certain distance down every path and achieve tangible results. That’s why he could be called erudite, whereas Angel clearly couldn’t.

That’s why after hearing just a few of Angel’s questions, he knew exactly what her problem was.

After a moment of contemplation, Isaac extended his right hand, plunged it into the Void, and pulled out three thick tomes. He placed them one by one in front of Angel: *History of Witchcraft, Magic, and the Arcane*, *Basic Divisions of Magic*, and *Magic Basics: From Novice to Expert*.

"I compiled and wrote these two books when I was teaching Lorna. Even she could barely understand them, so you should have no problem." Isaac said, pointing to the first two books. He then turned his attention to the third. "You’ve probably studied this one, right? It’s the textbook the Truth Association gives to Arcane Mage Apprentices. It might be too profound for you Witches, but this copy has my notes. You could barely call it a ’for dummies’ version. Read these three first."

He paused, and seeing the somewhat confused look in Angel’s eyes, Isaac explained, "Your problem right now is that you’ve learned too many different things, but you haven’t gone deep enough into any of them. So first, finish these three books, properly organize what you’ve learned, and only then should you consider what to study next."

"I have to study more?" Angel asked, a little surprised.

Although Isaac had only produced three books, Angel could clearly sense the magical fluctuations within them. Their contents were obviously compressed. The last book also seemed different from the version she had read.

It looked like only three books, but in reality...

Their contents could fill several bookshelves!

"What else?" Isaac retorted. "At this level, you won’t be able to understand my research."

"Even after all this, I still won’t be able to understand it?" The corner of Angel’s mouth twitched. She had thought Isaac wanted to train her as a lab assistant...

"Anyway, just study first. If there’s anything you don’t understand, you can... hmm, no, that’s not right. If you still don’t understand things after reading these three books, you can basically give up on this path." Isaac shook his head. "That’s it. I’m leaving. I look forward to seeing you in half a year."

As he spoke, hazy ripples of the Void appeared behind Isaac and instantly swallowed him. The scene jolted Angel, who was still staring blankly at the three books, back to her senses. Her expression turned grave as she stared at the spot where Isaac had been.

This was under the World Tree·Chronos!

Although this was only a sliver of Its Concept, within this area, Space and Time Magic were suppressed to a great extent. Theoretically, it should be impossible to perform Spatial Movement. Half a year ago, he and Philo had to fly here, but now he could just teleport away?

’Is his research ability really that powerful?’

...

On the other side, Isaac, who had returned to his laboratory through Phase Space, was unaware that Angel was shocked yet again. After returning, he first stored the Witch’s Blood properly, then went back to his desk to optimize the ritual plan he was working on.

In the past half a year, Isaac’s workload hadn’t been heavy. He was mainly responsible for guiding Soron and Agares in their respective experiments. The rest of the time, he basically just read books, and would occasionally develop a few Star Mage Small Spells on the side.

The only thing that could be considered a real achievement was perhaps the ritual he was currently perfecting—the one for Manchester Yifalei, the God of Mystery and Wisdom.

An Evil God he had accidentally discovered in this world’s ancient texts, one who held the [Analysis] Authority!

Unfortunately, it seemed this God had been thrashed by a Mad Witch a long time ago, who had plundered a large amount of Its Divine Power Origin, causing It to fall into a deep slumber. Not only had It yet to awaken, It was also rejecting all ritual prayers...

’Isn’t this just digging its own grave?’

You have to understand, although a Deity can survive without Faith, having the Power of Faith would obviously allow It to recover faster from serious injuries. While Manchester’s actions could prevent the Mad Witch from continuing to fleece It, It also severed all contact with Its Believers.

In a world teeming with True Gods, who would grant you their Faith if you didn’t perform a few miracles?

Thus, upholding the idea of atoning for his predecessor’s sins, Isaac decided to research a ritual that could open Its heart!

To help It reconnect with Its Believers!
