Wizard: Scamming a Demon God
Chapter 495 - 359: A Heroic Deed with Bountiful Rewards and the Witch of Time
Chapter 495: Chapter 359: A Heroic Deed with Bountiful Rewards and the Witch of Time
For a world rich in Elemental Magic, Wizards have many ways to directly communicate with the great Four Elements Plane and draw a continuous supply. The same is true for Elemental Spirits.
Besides, for the vast majority of Wizards, a single type of Magic Element is actually pretty useless. If the world were filled with pure, non-elementally-aligned Magic Power, that would be a different story.
However, such a Little World would inevitably have a Magic Barrier and would then be classified as a resource-type Little World.
After reviewing the information in his mind, Isaac looked at the sky with considerable anticipation. Squinting his eyes, Isaac roughly determined the time required for the ritual’s completion—one year.
Isaac nodded in satisfaction. ’This timeframe is acceptable.’
Angel needed three years to gather the resources, which meant he would have an extra year even after receiving the gift.
’So, what should I do next?’
Isaac smiled faintly. ’Is that even a question?’
’Of course, I’ll continue researching the Shadow of the Star God. The research on Star Mages has come to a temporary halt, but the research on Star Knights has only just begun.’
Star Knight, the path of the Black Knight, was a method that combined the Power of Star God with Battle Qi. In terms of pure combat power, it was likely not inferior to a Knight of God. At most, it would be at a disadvantage when it comes to resisting the Mysterious.
After all, the Path of the Knight of God was, in a sense, the path of a Deity—and it even surpassed the Path of Divinity!
This was something the current Star Knight could not compare to.
But that only applied to the *current* Star Knight. If it were optimized, the outcome might be different.
Filled with this expectation, Isaac once again plunged into a state of research with them.
People are creatures of habit, so when it came to optimizing the Star Knight, Isaac still chose to start with the Shadow of the Star God rather than the Black Knight’s Power of Star God.
For one, that method had a very limited future. To put it bluntly, the essence of most Power of Star God was simply power fluctuations unconsciously emitted by a Star God. It was only because the Star God’s status was so high that this power could traverse the Boundless Void and reach most Little Worlds.
It was equivalent to eating someone else’s leftovers. Relying on something like that offered a very limited future.
This was also one of the main reasons the Black Knight had been stuck at Tier Four for so many years, unable to make any progress.
And most importantly, while most of the Power of Star God was indeed unconscious power fluctuations, a small portion was not. That stuff was purely bait used by a Star God for fishing!
If you absorbed the former, you’d be fine. But if you absorbed the latter, and it reached a certain amount, then what would happen... well, it’s hard to say.
Therefore, compared to the Black Knight’s ready-made Furnace Skill for absorbing the Power of Star God, Isaac placed more importance on the more mature method of using the Shadow of the Star God. That was the method that truly severed all future troubles.
As for the problem of the Shadow of the Star God’s power not being pure enough...
This was a significant problem for a Star Mage, but for a Knight, it was nothing.
Before Tier Three, a Knight’s Cultivation Skill was the Breathing Skill, a simple Technique that used breathing to mobilize Magic Power and temper the body. It emphasized gradual progress, relying on the Magic Power brought by special breathing and Secret Medicines to nourish the body, supplemented by exercise to accelerate its growth.
This was completely different from the radical methods of Legendary Mages, who would often modify their bodies. It was much gentler, which was arguably one of the reasons the Knight path was able to develop slowly.
But this gentleness only existed below Tier Three. Once a Knight advanced to Tier Three, it meant their body had completed a leap in life-level. The terrifying strength of their physique would slowly manifest, one sign of which was the change in their Cultivation Skill, from the gentle Breathing Skill to the fierce Furnace Skill!
A Knight’s Furnace Skill could smelt any and all power, refining it into their own unique Magic Power!
Of course, that didn’t include the bait.
That stuff wasn’t just pure power. Unless you could kill the main body, that is. According to legend, this was also a cultivation method for some powerful Knights—to search the Void for Evil Gods, then slay and completely smelt them!
Compared to the gradual progress before Tier Three, after reaching Tier Three, as long as a Knight’s Furnace Skill was powerful enough and they had sufficient resources, their advancement in strength could basically be described as an ascension!
Unfortunately, throughout history, very few had ever reached this level. In recent years, the only one who might have done so was the Emperor of Terra. After all, as the heir to the Empire, he lacked neither top-tier Furnace Skills nor resources, so similar rumors had always circulated in the past.
However, these rumors had become less frequent in recent years, the reason naturally being that the Terra Empire had failed to produce a second Emperor.
Given the Terra Empire’s scale, it certainly didn’t lack top-tier Furnace Skills. As for resources, there would have been no shortage while the Emperor was alive, not to mention the Terra Royal Family had also seized a portion of the [Boundless] Authority from Caesar.
Therefore, many people, including Isaac, guessed that either this method was fake, or the conditions were even more stringent—so stringent that even someone as strong as the Emperor could not replicate it.
Isaac was actually quite curious about the answer.
But it was only curiosity. It was just his instinct to explore unknown Knowledge. After all, he didn’t walk the Path of the Knight, nor did he have that many resources. Even if he figured it out, it would be useless to him.
To get back on track, for Isaac to research the path of the Star Knight, he had two hurdles to overcome. First, he had to find a way for Knights to also visualize the Shadow of the Star God. Second, he had to optimize and improve the Furnace Skill.
The former was relatively easy. After all, the mature path of the Star Mage already existed, and this world had all sorts of Visualization Skills, providing a data foundation for Isaac’s Creation Skill.
The latter, however, was not so simple. He didn’t know many Furnace Skills, especially not a single one that led beyond Tier Four.
When it came to a Creation Skill, having data and having no data were two completely different levels of difficulty!
And this was a Creation Skill for a different power system, no less.
But whether it was possible or not could only be known after trying. In any case, he had plenty of time, and the Extraordinary Power of Knights was already within the scope of his future research anyway. He could just treat this as some early practice.
As Isaac began to bury himself in his research, on the other side, as news of the fusion ritual for the Shadow of the Star God gradually spread, more and more Star Mages became true Wizards, and the gift Nurturing in the depths of the world grew ever more astonishing.
Beneath a great tree that seemed to hold a sea of stars, a small round table was placed. Three graceful figures sat quietly at the table, leisurely drinking red tea, coffee, and milk.
However, from the way their gazes occasionally drifted toward the depths of the world, it was clear that their hearts were not as calm as they appeared on the surface.
They knew a little about a Wizard’s Heroic feat. They also knew how difficult it was to accomplish. Countless Wizards in the world spent their entire lives pursuing it, but those who succeeded were few and far between.
Even among those Wizards who had completed a Heroic feat, none had done so with Isaac’s speed!
Angel knew about the drawbacks of being a Star Mage, and so did Philo. She even knew that Philo was also researching a solution and had found the right path from Isaac’s research. But even so, her progress was still far inferior to Isaac’s...
And on her side, she even had the strongest Tier Three Star Wizard helping...
"His future... can you still see it clearly?" the Angel in the middle asked, looking curiously at the older Angel on her left.
"I can’t see it at all anymore. What a terrifying fellow," the older Angel said, shaking her head with some emotion.
"Not just that," the younger Angel on the right said in a sweet voice. "His past is also starting to become blurry."
At these words, the three fell silent again. For the first time in her life, after officially mastering the Magic Scripture [Chronicles of Time] and gaining the formidable power to summon her past and future selves, Angel felt a sense of admiration.
Yes, all three of them were Angel, representing the past, present, and future. Although their strengths were identical—all being Tier Four Witches—unless all three were killed simultaneously, Angel would not truly die!
Of course, if that were all, it would hardly be worthy of the Magic Scripture’s power. Its truly terrifying aspect was that both the past and future Angel could hide themselves within their corresponding timelines!
In other words, to kill Angel now, one would have to completely erase her from the timeline!
This was also one of the main reasons why the sole surviving Demigod of the Terra Kingdom chose to reconcile rather than eradicate her completely.
But even she, who wielded such terrifying power, couldn’t help but feel astonished when faced with the series of achievements Isaac had made.
