Wizard: Scamming a Demon God
Chapter 475 - 350: Goblin Dominator and Demon Dominator
Chapter 475: Chapter 350: Goblin Dominator and Demon Dominator
The Black Knight’s pupils constricted as he instantly locked onto his target. The attack hadn’t come from the Gods of the Orcs and Dwarves. No, it was the Wizard standing between the Three Gods!
Although they were still quite far apart, his perception was greatly enhanced, empowered by the Silver Law. He could faintly sense a shimmering bond of Divine Power on Isaac—who stood between the Three Gods—that connected to them.
The Black Knight’s eyes narrowed slightly. In an instant, his mind raced, and he quickly understood Isaac’s intentions!
’The other party doesn’t want to defeat me—at least, not this easily. He wants a fierce duel!’
’And without a doubt, his target is my Silver Law!’
’After all...’
’There’s nothing else about me that would attract a Wizard’s attention...’
’Such is the life of a melee brute...’
Having figured this out, the Black Knight knew what to do next. A black and white radiance flared around him once more. Faced with the oncoming rain of verdant arrows, he didn’t dodge. Instead, he transformed into a black and white streak of light, shattering them one by one!
The Black Knight’s unusual actions didn’t escape Isaac’s notice. ’Hm? He noticed?’ Isaac raised an eyebrow, having a good idea of what the Knight was thinking.
Demonstrating one’s value. According to the handbook Philo had provided, this sort of thing wasn’t uncommon.
At the end of the day, no one who reached Tier Four was a fool. This was especially true for a Tier Four from a Little World. They came from harsher environments and had to expend far more effort than people from the Real World to advance, which made them all the more shrewd.
Only a small minority of natives would fight to the death. The vast majority would put up their best fight to demonstrate their value and then allow themselves to be recruited.
Finally, an even smaller minority of natives would surrender outright without even fighting!
However, such people were usually mortals or Tier One and Tier Two Transcendents. From Tier Three upward, they were practically nonexistent. After all, the strong all have their own convictions.
So, the Black Knight’s actions were understandable. Realizing this, Isaac attached more of his Spiritual Power to the arrows Trist fired. At the moment of collision with the Black Knight, the veil over the Silver Law and the Knight’s power began to slowly lift for Isaac...
...
Meanwhile, as the Black Knight and Trist battled in the sky, the advance teams that had entered the Little World also sprang into action.
Due to the limited number of personnel, a full-scale invasion was impossible. Therefore, the advance teams were organized with a clear division of labor. One group led a large number of Tier One and Tier Two life forms to openly engage the Little World’s search parties. Another group remained hidden, solely focused on gathering data on the World Wall.
Agares and Demon Eye Soron were part of the group hiding in the shadows.
After entering the Little World, the two landed in a dense forest. They didn’t act immediately, nor did they choose classic hiding spots like Earth Caves or mountain caverns. Instead, each holding a verdant green leaf, they chose a large tree and merged into it, leaving not a single trace of their presence behind!
Their task was not as simple as merely gathering data on the World Wall. They were also responsible for understanding the Cultivation path of the Star Mages to provide foundational data for Isaac’s research into his Great Creation. For this reason, before setting out, they had obtained two Divine Power Green Leaves from the Elf God for concealment.
These leaves allowed them to merge almost perfectly with the trees. For a short time, they could even transfer their positions between different trees. Unless all the nearby trees were cleared in an instant, not even a Tier Four expert who came in person could hope to find them!
Moreover, Isaac had only given these items to Soron and Agares. With no one else aware of this ability, the possibility of their exposure was virtually zero!
Just as they had anticipated, the Casters of this world weren’t all idiots. Although their Casting had shielded them from the world’s will and its detection mechanisms, the Star Mages had still managed to roughly track the outsiders’ movements using their own methods.
However, this tracking method was clearly imperfect; it couldn’t compare to the Concealment Techniques Philo’s group had prepared. Apart from the traces of their presence that leaked out when they first arrived, the natives only spotted the teams openly distracting the search parties. The hidden teams, meanwhile, scattered as planned to gather data on the World Wall.
Time flowed by, and a week passed in the blink of an eye. During that time, three search parties had passed through the forest where Soron and Agares were hiding, but the pair made no rash moves. It wasn’t until this day, after another native search party departed, that the two black-robed figures slowly emerged from the trees.
They exchanged a look, and a High-level Invisibility Technique was instantly cast. Their figures vanished without a trace. Following a Concept they sensed in the air, the two sped toward the nearest town.
Before long, the two arrived outside a small town.
Shrouded by the High-level Invisibility Technique, the two stood by the side of the road, their expressions grim as they gazed at the town, which was under martial law. Infiltration wouldn’t be difficult, but the Star Mage Cultivation methods they were looking for were most likely not here.
’Or...’
’A direct assault?’
The two exchanged a look but didn’t act rashly. Instead, they followed the Concept and sped off toward the next town.
A week later, the two found themselves looking at a small city under even tighter security. They sighed. It seemed conventional methods wouldn’t work, and they would have to take a more extreme route. After all, they didn’t have much time left.
No one knew how long Philo’s deception of the world’s will could last. Once it ended, every last member of the advance party would be exposed to the natives, so...
The pair returned to the outskirts of the first small town. However, they didn’t attack right away. Instead, they retreated back into the forest. Using the cover provided by the Divine Power of the leaves, they began to alter the forest and set up a Magic Barrier.
The difference in combat power between a prepared Wizard and an unprepared one is enormous. This remained true even in the current golden age of Wizards. After all, in a sense, this was determined by the very nature of a Wizard’s power.
And for Soron and Agares, preparation was even more important.
Their fighting styles were actually quite similar: both summoned a constant stream of Servant Demons to either fight for them or serve as ritual sacrifices. The difference was that Agares summoned Demons from the Abyss, while Soron summoned his own former kin—goblins.
Of course, they were modified and Enhanced goblins.
After becoming a Wizard, Soron had not forgotten where he came from. On the contrary, armed with a wealth of Knowledge, Soron had updated his enhancement techniques through several new versions, dedicated to bringing a glorious evolution to his kin!
Therefore, although the Servant Demons they summoned were different, the convergence of their fighting styles meant their process was more or less the same. The first step was always to set up a Magic Barrier.
When the Barrier was complete, Agares stared dumbfounded at the hulking, muscular goblins. He looked at Soron’s Demon Eye, which glowed with Magic Power, and asked in disbelief, "The power of your Demon Eye... don’t tell me it’s just for summoning goblins?"
Soron nodded. He wasn’t embarrassed by Agares’s astonishment; in fact, he nodded again with confidence. To other Wizards, this Demon Eye, which could only summon and enhance goblins, might seem useless—a mark of shame.
But to Soron, it was the very thing that had set the gears of his fate in motion—a unique treasure bestowed upon him by Isaac!
Agares was no fool. Seeing the pride in Soron’s demeanor, he began to understand. He dropped the subject and turned his gaze to the hulking goblins, his eyes filled with interest.
The rate at which these goblins appeared was astonishing, but their fundamental nature remained, and their shortcomings were obvious at a glance. As someone who had been immersed in the Demon Dominator school for many years, Agares quickly thought of several ways to further modify them.
"Interesting. To reach Tier Two through pure Physical Enhancement alone is impressive," Agares said after a moment of thought. "Have you considered infusing them with Evil Energy? Goblins have their limits. With the help of Demon Power, you could help them break through that ceiling. It would be much easier for them to advance to Tier Three."
However, Soron shook his head. "It would reduce my Demon Eye’s control over the goblins."
Hearing this, Agares said no more. It was clear Soron had his own plans. After glancing at the goblins a few more times, he walked over to the Barrier he had set up and began to summon his Demons.
