Wizard: Scamming a Demon God
Chapter 463 - 345: Prince Norns: Uh, Can We Reconcile?
Chapter 463: Chapter 345: Prince Norns: Uh, Can We Reconcile?
At the same time, five streaks of divine light erupted from Isaac, transforming into five Divine Shadows. They shot out in all directions, encircling the entire Prince’s Domain—an area of roughly one million square kilometers.
A wild sea of trees surged across the land as countless Tree Men burst forth from the earth!
Layers of shimmering purple Space flickered in and out of existence. An uncanny violet light surged like a tidal wave, threatening to swallow everything whole!
Golden meteors rained down upon the land, each one transforming into a Knight armed with a Sword and Shield. They carved a path forward, tearing through every obstacle!
BOOM!
A hundred-meter-tall Dwarf wielding a Giant Hammer slowly rose from the earth. Merely by shifting the grip on its hammer, it unleashed a raging tempest!
Opposite the Dwarf stood another hundred-meter-tall divine figure. This one, however, was not a Dwarf, but an Orc!
It brandished a sharp Giant Axe, its muscles were as solid as a mountain range, and its tattoos resembled the face of a Demon. An unparalleled, murderous aura radiated from its body.
In an instant, the Five Gods were all deployed!
All who witnessed this fell silent. They knew this was a disaster...
BOOM!
As expected, on the other side of the Real World, in the lands of the Teaching Country, countless beams of divine light, filled with fury, descended from the heavens. They once again demonstrated to the world the meaning of inescapable divine wrath.
Without a doubt, the Deities were enraged!
For millennia, Isaac was not the first Wizard to covet Divine Power, nor was he the first to succeed. But he was, without a doubt, the most successful one of them all.
Although these five Deities looked somewhat weak—only at the level of Tier Four—they were, in the end, wielders of genuine Divine Power. Most importantly, not only did these five beings obey Isaac’s every command, but they could also move freely in the Real World!
This was simply unbelievable!
This inconceivable sight couldn’t help but spark some peculiar thoughts among the Deities. ’If we could also do this... then wouldn’t this world...’
’The thought was dangerous, but now We have the perfect excuse to act on it!’
’At least, that’s what We told ourselves!’
But unlike the others, who were shocked, Isaac paid it no mind. In his view, True Gods and Outer Gods were essentially the same in one respect: neither could unleash their full power in the Real World. Forget full power—True Gods were only marginally better than Outer Gods, simply because the price they paid to wield their power was slightly lower.
Even so, the most power they could wield in the Real World was Tier Five, and a short-lived Pseudo-Tier Five at that. If it dragged on, an ordinary Deity simply couldn’t bear the enormous cost.
Therefore, the only ones who could truly act against him in the Real World were, at most, some Tier Four beings. And for the current Isaac, any number of Tier Fours were just free kills.
He merely glanced in the direction of the Teaching Country before taking Liu Li, transforming into a streak of light, and flying toward the heart of the Prince’s Domain. Prince Norns and his subordinates were already waiting there.
「A moment later」
Isaac arrived with Liu Li in the center of the Prince’s Domain: Jiljisi City.
Jiljisi had originally been the central city of a Marquis’s domain. After its former master fell in battle, the Emperor bestowed it upon Prince Norns. It may sound incredible, but such was the reality for a Marquis.
For the vast majority of Marquises, their title was separate from their land; their domain was not hereditary. This was because most of them were members of the Terra Royal Family. It was enough to give you the title of Marquis and a stipend—where would the Empire find enough land to enfeoff all of you?
Of course, if you were willing to go out and conquer new lands, that was another matter entirely.
But I digress. The original Jiljisi territory was only about three hundred thousand square kilometers. Under Prince Norns’s "management," it expanded to its current size in an extremely short period. As a result, Jiljisi City, at the heart of the Prince’s Domain, also underwent massive development.
The entire city was shrouded in a powerful Barrier, powered by a total of thirteen Mage Towers. Until its energy was depleted, not even a Tier Five powerhouse could breach this Barrier!
This was one of the reasons why Prince Norns, upon sensing that something was amiss, did not immediately go out to face his enemy, but instead holed up in Jiljisi City to await Isaac. To go out meant certain death; to stay here... there was at least a sliver of hope for survival.
Of course, that sliver of hope wasn’t a naive expectation that the Royal Family would come to his rescue. He had long since known that the Terra Royal Family had abandoned him. His true reliance was on the tallest of the thirteen Mage Towers within the city!
It was a Tier Four Mage Tower that he had spent a fortune to construct. There were currently sixteen Tier Four individuals within it. Although only a Tier Four Arcanist and a Tier Four Demon Beast Knight would actually obey his commands, when combined with the power of a Tier Four Mage Tower, a victory was not entirely out of the question!
"You’re here."
"I am." Watching the giant divine effigy rising within Jiljisi City, Isaac nodded, his gaze sweeping with great interest over the city—or more specifically, its thirteen Mage Towers.
These thirteen Mage Towers served a dual purpose: they were the city’s power source, and also the nodes of the Magic Array required to open the New World Gate.
’This explains a lot. It seems I’ll need to avoid damaging these thirteen Mage Towers too badly in the coming battle,’ Isaac mused. ’Not that I’m afraid of all sixteen Tier Fours in the city attacking me at once, but why make things more difficult than they need to be?’
’Besides, if this thing gets destroyed, repairing it would be a huge pain. If I conserve some energy, maybe I can use what’s left after the fight to open the New World Gate and take a peek at the New World.’
With this in mind, Isaac immediately sent a mental command to the Five Gods, telling Them to hold back even more. They were not to damage *his* Mage Towers.
After mentally giving his instructions to the Five Gods, Isaac finally turned his attention to Prince Norns—who stood as if facing a formidable foe—and the Mechanical Life Form, Remington, who remained faithfully by his side.
Looking at the two of them, Isaac recalled their shared past and couldn’t help but sigh with a sense of melancholy. ’What a mess...’
"Can we reconcile?" Even though he believed he stood a fighting chance, Prince Norns did not attack immediately. Instead, he chose a softer approach. Even if he could fight, and even if he could win, he wasn’t sure he could—or would dare—to kill Isaac.
Because Isaac was a Mad Witch. Because the battlefield was his own domain. If he killed Isaac here, wouldn’t his territory be utterly devastated by the fallout?
And since killing him wasn’t an option, reconciliation was naturally the best strategy. After all...
"When you think about it, there are no deep-seated grudges between us, are there?"
Hearing this, Isaac couldn’t help but chuckle. To Norns’s surprise, he actually nodded.
It was true. Strictly speaking, there was no real grudge between them. The one who had his "Venerable Bone" stolen was his older brother. The ones who took the "Venerable Bone" were the Royal Family, not Prince Norns. The one who directly caused his mother’s death during childbirth was the Mad Witch Prank Master—and that person was already dead.
So, why had it come to this?
Isaac could only attribute it to a strange twist of fate. Prince Norns had never intended to target Isaac himself. His real target was the Solomon Territory backing him—Isaac’s father, Gaia Solomon!
Reviving Remington was also part of the plan to deal with the Solomon Territory; Isaac just "happened" to get caught in the crossfire.
But the animosity didn’t run deep.
In the society of Nobility, such conflicts were easily resolved. After all, interests were all that mattered.
Take Caesar, for example. Hadn’t he also given up on his "bone-stealing feud" with the Terra Royal Family?
Of course, he had only tentatively set it aside. For Caesar to truly abandon his hatred, a much greater exchange of benefits would be required. But regardless, this case was a perfect example: barring any surprises, such a grudge could certainly be laid to rest.
Unfortunately, that was the way of the Nobility. Isaac, however, was just an Ordinary Wizard, and what he wanted was something Prince Norns could not give.
Therefore, Isaac shook his head and said flatly, "It’s meaningless to talk about this now. I came here today for one reason only: to see a thought through to its conclusion. For that to happen, you and Remington must die. If you choose to kill yourselves, I can promise you I won’t touch your subordinates."
As he spoke, a vicious smile spread across Isaac’s face. "...And give them a chance to avenge you~"
