Chapter 567 - 223: The Truly Existing True World (Part 3)

The Grave Digger, unlike a Great Demon Commander, didn’t possess the ability to constantly corrupt Extraordinaries, so he didn’t need to conserve as much Spiritual Power.

As the Blood Boiling Technique took effect, Wei’en’s resilience skyrocketed to sixty thousand. His body swelled in an instant, muscles writhing as sinews as thick as fingers spread across his form, giving him an exceptionally ferocious appearance.

At the same time, this immense power acted like a black hole, whipping the already turbulent waves into an even greater frenzy. Even the massive waterspout connecting the sea’s surface to the dark clouds above fell silent for a moment, shrinking by several degrees under the pressure of his aura and flinging out hundreds of screeching, thrashing deep-sea fish.

After this, Wei’en flashed over to the carriage, landing lightly on the head of the Water Elemental Spirit that had followed. In a booming voice, he said, "Hey, stop looking. The Puppet Queen has already escaped."

The Grave Digger angled his body, allowing the eyes on his chest to fixate on Wei’en. The several fanged mouths on his torso writhed, emitting a discordant chorus.

"Maggot, you should be more concerned for your own well-being."

"Maggot?" Wei’en’s face turned to ice. His eyes reflected the black-robed figure, the black carriage, and the apocalyptic, sky-blotting scene behind them. "Call me a maggot again, and I’ll slaughter you!"

"You’re courting death!"

"Bastard! You damned maggot, don’t you know fear?"

"I’m going to kill you! Kill! Kill!"

The mouths on the Grave Digger’s chest all spoke at once, but each uttered a different phrase.

’Hmm?’

’Just like those Secret Cultivators... Does he have different souls sealed inside his body?’

’But the panel only showed one name... Is it multiple personalities?’

Wei’en pondered for a few seconds and decided to observe a bit longer.

Just then, the Grave Digger, seemingly pushed to the peak of his rage, swung his arms, causing the eight tombstones on his back to shudder. Then, in a low, cold voice, he began to chant in complex Gonzalez, "*Di, teharu, tehas, muluode, li, gelaoxin...*"

*Great True Master, I pray for Your blessing. Let the servants of the True World descend, annihilate all that is illusory, and welcome all that is newborn...*

The eerie chant echoed in Wei’en’s ears, its meaning instantly translating itself in his mind.

’This is different from the Secret Cultivators’ methods?’

’I remember the Secret Cultivators used the essence of slaughter to fight...’

But before Wei’en could observe any further, the Grave Digger sent two tombstones from each hand flying out to land around the carriage. Four crimson beams of light then pierced the thick, dark clouds, descending from the sky to strike the tombstones.

The crimson light swirled rapidly along the complex runes on the tombstones’ surfaces, forming scarlet circuits. Once the tombstones were entirely covered in this light, they each projected a hazy, red halo onto the sea.

"...Reality, descend!"

As the incantation concluded, four dark figures slowly materialized within the red halos behind the tombstones.

"Oh?"

Wei’en sized up the dark figures, a flicker of confusion crossing his face of bulging, ferocious muscle.

’Two are wearing robes, one black and one red. Are they Wizards?’

’And of the other two, one looks like a Mechanical Transformer, and the other is a Werewolf?’

"Here?" The Werewolf bared its teeth, surveying the surroundings. "So this is the Illusion World?"

The red-robed figure chuckled. "Heh heh, nicely done."

The black-robed one said, "The world the Master of True Slaughter wishes to devour is certainly unique!"

Only the Mechanical Transformer’s silhouette, its body completely covered in machinery, stared at Wei’en. Two red lights for eyes glowed as it spoke with the sound of grinding gears, "A Wizard?"

"A Wizard?!"

The other three figures fixed their gazes on Wei’en. "He really is a Wizard. The fluctuations from his core are so strong... Heh heh, I just had a wonderful idea."

"Me too. I wonder which school he belongs to."

’Hmm?’

’No way...’

Wei’en frowned. ’Are these figures Wizards, too?’

’But what they’re saying is strange.’

’Master of True Slaughter? Devour a world?’

’Is that the "True Master" the Dusk Sect talks about?’

"You..."

But before he could ask his question, the Grave Digger waved an arm and ordered coldly, "Begin."

"A pity. He looks like a very talented Wizard."

"Kill him!"

"*Simo, na!*" the black-robed figure chanted. "Night’s Dark Shadow!"

"Whoa, whoa, Black Robe! Starting with magic of that level—aren’t you afraid you’ll kill him?"

At the Grave Digger’s command, the four dark figures lunged fiercely at Wei’en.

"Tsk."

’Looks like I’ll have to beat them before I get any answers!’

Signaling his specters to each choose a target, Wei’en used his immense physical strength to lunge at one of the dark figures, throwing a punch.

"A fine welcome!" the Werewolf figure roared. A silver-white beam shot from its massive maw. "Blood Roar Cannon!"

The other three figures cast their own magic as well, making no attempt to dodge Wei’en’s punch.

[You have been struck by...]

Four powerful beams of magic, each a different color, flashed across Wei’en, instantly carving several wounds into his body.

Yet when his fist landed on the dark figure, it passed through as if through empty space, with no sensation of impact.

’My attack was useless?!’

"It is useless. They are closer to ’reality’ than I," the Grave Digger cackled coldly.

After attacking, the four dark figures came to a bizarre halt. They studied Wei’en, as if sensing something was amiss.

"Have you all noticed? He’s from the Blood Spirit School..." the Mechanical Transformer said, glancing at the red-robed figure.

"Blood Spirit? Is that the Blood Boiling Technique he’s using? Damn it, there’s no way the Blood Boiling Technique is this powerful! Impossible!" the red-robed figure exclaimed in disbelief.
