Chapter 566: Chapter 223: The Truly Existing True World (Part 2)

[Your phantom clone’s Charm Spell hit Agostinho Harvey. Charmed state will last for 1 second. Evaluation: His location is incorrect. The so-called True World is not the cemetery. Perhaps a kingdom? Special Reward: Survival Points +20, Resilience Level +2, Spirit Level +2.]

[…]

[…Charmed state lasted for 0.1 seconds… Reward: Survival Points +10.]

‘It’s working?’

‘But it’s so short-lived!’

Wei’en noted the evaluation on his panel. The space the Grave Digger occupied wasn’t this world, but a “kingdom”?

Though he wasn’t sure what the panel meant, he remained cautious and signaled the Secret Master and the Specter to strike first.

“Gio, Gio, Hili!”

The Secret Master opened its mouth and spat a massive Fireball that whistled toward the black carriage.

The Specter, meanwhile, summoned a shadow-ensnaring Array that materialized silently on the sea’s surface beneath the carriage. Amidst rising gray mist, countless skeletal appendages, like the tentacles of some Deep Sea abomination, shot out, lashing toward the Grave Digger.

The Secret Master then chanted another incantation: “Ya, Lisi, Tengke!”

As the strange words in the Gonzalez tongue echoed, four waterspouts rose and coalesced into four Water Elemental Spirits. Wei’en landed on the head of one and turned his gaze toward the black carriage.

“It is useless…”

Just then, the Grave Digger recovered from the charm and chanted, almost sighing, “All is illusion, all will perish—only through slaughter does one descend into truth!”

Before his voice faded, the Fireball and skeletal tentacles were upon him.

BOOM!

The Fireball passed straight through the black carriage and struck the sea below. The roiling Elemental Power, terrifying heat, and explosive force blasted a massive crater in the water.

The skeletal tentacles fared no better, passing through the carriage one by one before falling back into the shadows at the Array’s center, only to shoot out again as if in frustration.

But the black-robed figure and the strange carriage were completely unaffected, showing no change and remaining quietly on the sea’s surface.

‘What?!’

Wei’en finally understood what the panel meant. The Grave Digger was like a mirage; neither Elemental Magic nor Undead Magic could touch him…

‘How the hell am I supposed to fight this?’

“Wei’en! The carriage he’s on is protected by the True Master! As long as he doesn’t attack, no Magic or any other attack can harm him, except for attacks targeting his Spirit, source, or soul!”

Just then, a figure with half its head missing appeared on the deck of the *Leonard* and shouted toward them.

‘Clelia?’

‘Damn it, why didn’t you say something so important sooner?!’

“What else?”

“I… I need to think…” The pirate’s form shifted into Clelia’s. Her expression was slightly embarrassed, but mostly filled with anxiety and worry.

‘You’ve really outdone yourself, Puppet Queen!’

Wei’en looked helplessly at the Grave Digger on the black carriage. As he waited for the man to make a move, he took stock of his own skills.

‘Good, there’s a way to attack the Grave Digger. Otherwise, I’d be tempted to take the ship and flee back to the theater.’

‘But the bad news is, aside from the charm effect of the Blink Spell, most of my Magic doesn’t have source, soul, or Spirit-level attacks…’

‘If I’d known, I would have imprinted some targeted Magic Runes instead of randomly learning ones that only apply to Arrays, like the Soul Fusion Rune or Earth Spirit.’

‘Wait, source?’

‘Does the corruption from my death attribute count as a source attack?’

‘I’ll try using the sniper rifle later!’

The Grave Digger, however, made no move. He paid no mind to the Magic Wei’en cast—which looked like mere parlor tricks to him—and fixed his gaze on Clelia. “Puppet Queen, to see thee again, it brings Us comfort.”

He paused, let out a few low chuckles, and continued, “Dost thou still recall thy insults toward Us in the Juerzhan City State?”

“Hm?”

Clelia frowned. ‘Juerzhan City State… what’s that?’

‘Damn it, just how many of my memories are sealed away!’

“Thou hast forgotten?” Seeing her silence, two crimson pinpricks of light ignited in the depths of the Grave Digger’s dark eyes. His tone turned glacial as he roared in fury, “How darest thou forget?! Thou… art sin incarnate!”

As he spoke, his black robes ripped apart, revealing a bizarre form underneath.

The Grave Digger had the tall, lanky build of a Secret Cultivator. A pair of horns sprouted from his head, and several rods formed from Scrolls were pierced through the back of his skull. Gray cloth strips were wound around these scrolls, blindfolding him and leaving only a large Gemstone visible on his brow.

The pair of dark eyes that should have been on his face now appeared bizarrely on his torso, surrounded by several dark, tooth-filled mouths.

His arms ended not in hands, but in two metal vambraces, each connected to four tombstones, completing his monstrous appearance.

“Wei’en, he’s all yours.”

Clelia’s expression shifted the moment she saw the Grave Digger’s true form. As if struck by some shock, she immediately abandoned the puppet body.

‘So ugly. Those bastards from the Dusk Sect still have no taste!’

Wei’en was speechless.

‘Clelia, he just asked you about the Juerzhan City State, you could’ve just told him… Did you really have to make him rip his clothes off?’

But complaints aside, he acted quickly, signaling the Secret Master and the Red Demon to cast Shield Spells.

“Jia, Lier, Kings.” (Spirit Shield.)

“Ze, Roka.” (Barrier)

As two Arrays materialized, a blue Spirit shield formed over his slender body, warding off the corrupting influence of the surrounding Deep Sea abominations.

Finally, he activated his Spiritual Conversion talent. He raised his Resilience Level to thirty thousand, kept his source at one thousand, and converted his remaining attributes into his Spirit Level. Then, the Red Demon began to chant the incantation for the Blood Boiling Technique.
