Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters
Chapter 553 - 220: I Hope He Doesn’t Go Too Far
"Regarding the powers of the Judgment Authority, I was able to look up three abilities. Information on any others is only accessible to high-level members of the Wizard School. These three are the Sword of Judgment, the Judgement Divine Court, and the Judgement Balance."
"Among them, the Sword of Judgment is the ability she uses most often. It’s the longsword she wields. It doesn’t just possess formidable offensive power; it can also purify corruption. As for the Judgement Divine Court, it is a legendary-grade domain ability. And finally, the Judgement Balance can weigh the sins of an Extraordinary."
"That’s all the information I have for now..."
’Three abilities, and each one is more outrageous than the last. And the most terrifying part is, that’s not even the full extent of the Authority’s power...’
Wei’en set down the parchment, his brow furrowed. The Judgement Saintess was even more powerful than he had imagined.
Let alone the innate powers of her Authority, her ability to borrow the Power of Faith to summon a god’s gaze and call forth an Angel was something he couldn’t possibly withstand...
’Add to that the Holy Professionals of the Judgment Legion she leads, and other potential abilities like forbidden artifacts... It’s too terrifying!’
’Fortunately, I’m now protected by the Destiny Barrier. I don’t have to worry about a pursuit from Dawn for the time being.’
But he knew this wasn’t a permanent solution. Sooner or later, he would have to face Celestia directly.
’I have to gather as much information as I can on the Judgement Saintess, and I need to prepare countermeasures in advance.’
With this in mind, Wei’en activated the black communicator again, preparing to contact the Wizard School.
Flanta’s security clearance had been too low to find out more, but his own authority as the Director of the Research Institute should be enough to view more intelligence.
His only worry was whether the intelligence department even had any information on the Judgement Saintess...
"Esteemed Wizard Wei’en Loft, what is the internal number you wish to contact?"
"Internal number 2348, Director Amidich Fried."
"One moment..."
Before long, Amidich’s stern, wolf-like face appeared on the illusory screen.
He wasn’t sure if it was his imagination, but Wei’en noticed that the Werewolf director of the intelligence department looked to be in a bad mood.
"What is it?" Amidich’s voice was low, his beast-like, slitted pupils fixed on Wei’en as he asked.
"Director Amidich," Wei’en greeted him with a neutral expression and stated his purpose, "...I wish to obtain more intelligence on the Judgement Saintess, primarily regarding her abilities."
"Judgement Saintess Celestia..." The Werewolf looked down, pondering for a few seconds. "We do have some intelligence on her."
"Then, if you wouldn’t mind..."
Before Wei’en could finish, the Werewolf interrupted, "But I must remind you, her power reached the legendary tier thirty years ago. She’s only stronger now, perhaps even a Demigod. My advice is to find a way to evade her pursuit this time and, preferably, return to the Shadow."
"Return?"
Wei’en shook his head slightly. "I’m afraid I can’t return to the Shadow anytime soon. But I will seriously consider your advice."
’Of course he wanted to avoid the Judgement Saintess’s pursuit, but returning to the Shadow... better not.’
"Decide for yourself."
Amidich had just raised his hand, as if to disconnect the communicator, but his gaze fell on Wei’en’s face, and he paused.
"There is something I’d like to ask you."
"Hm?" Wei’en didn’t overthink it. "Go ahead."
"You used a powerful Blink Spell during the Caster incident. I trust you’ve done some research on its runic structure... I wonder how much you know about its flaws?"
’Flaws?’
A thought struck Wei’en. Looking at the expressionless Werewolf director, he wondered, ’Is he suspecting that I’m Faceless?’
"Are you referring to the rune flaws that the Faceless Great Wizard mentioned yesterday? I hadn’t noticed them before, but today, I followed his advice and perfected those flaws. The Blink Spell’s power has increased quite a bit."
"Is that so? I would have thought that with your talent in runology, you’d be able to discover the flaws in the Magic Rune yourself, just like Faceless."
Wei’en rubbed his nose, feigning embarrassment. "Actually, my talent with runes isn’t that great. I’ve only done a little research on rune fusion. By the way, are you looking for His Excellency Faceless? I heard he’s one of us, from the Shadow."
"If you confirm his identity, please be sure to tell me. I have some things related to my research projects that I’d like to ask him about..."
"His identity is still unknown." The Werewolf’s eyes flickered slightly. "The Shadow has checked the files of all our Great Mages and confirmed it’s none of them. The Wizard School has also inquired with the Nightmare Sect..."
’Huh?!’
’The Nightmare Sect?’
’They couldn’t have found anything out, right?’
"But they don’t know his identity either. They only know that he first appeared in the Nightmare Realm twenty days ago, and his Origin has been enhanced multiple times since then..."
"Can’t the Nightmare Sect directly pinpoint the Faceless Great Wizard’s identity?" This was Wei’en’s biggest concern.
"They can’t," the Werewolf shook his head. "In fact, the Shadow has conducted special investigations into the Nightmare Realm. It’s a special ruin of some kind. All we know is that it’s related to the Late Third Epoch."
"What we can be sure of is that the Nightmare Sect doesn’t have a high degree of control over it. They haven’t fully unearthed its potential."
Wei’en quietly breathed a sigh of relief. "I see... That’s a real shame."
’This is great!’
’If the Nightmare Sect had revealed his information, that would have been a real headache.’
’Then, the ones hunting him wouldn’t just be the Dawn Church. The various Wizard Schools would come looking for him too, as well as that potential person lurking in the shadows...’
"Alright, I have other matters to attend to. I’ll send you the files shortly."
As his voice faded, the Werewolf’s image vanished. The illusory screen slowly disappeared, and the gray mist retracted back into the black communicator.
Wei’en let out a long breath and murmured, "The Nightmare Realm... a ruin from the Third Era, and it’s not even fully controlled by the Nightmare Sect... I have to say, that’s good news."
