Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters

Chapter 552 - 220: I Hope He Doesn’t Go Too Far!

"This is a good start!"

Wei’en turned off the communicator, casually placed the parchment on his workbench, pulled out a chair, and sat down.

To be honest, he didn’t have a clear understanding of the so-called "research projects" within the school, nor did he know much about undead modification. Thus, he could only rely on the knowledge he already possessed, along with the smattering of information he’d seen and heard in his past life, to design the most viable plan he could.

But he wasn’t very confident about the final outcome of this plan, or whether it could even achieve its goal.

However, as a Wizard, Wei’en knew that sooner or later, he would have to embark on the path of academic research.

The knowledge gained from panel upgrades was certainly important and convenient, but it hadn’t truly become his own. There was always a sense of superficiality to it.

As a result, when fighting or facing the Extraordinary World, he mostly relied on his panel’s prompts and various reckless maneuvers to get by.

’This is probably like that saying I heard in my past life: I know the conclusions my panel provides about the Extraordinary World, but not the reasons behind them.’

’For example, the flaws in Magic Runes—how do those seemingly simple modifications manage to both reduce the Magic’s effect while still maintaining a certain standard?’

’Or take Magic Potions. Those formulas were developed after countless trials by my predecessors, but I only know the effects produced by combining the ingredients. I have no idea how each ingredient was chosen during the experimentation process, or what substitutes might exist.’

’And then there’s the origin of my two talents.’

’Spiritual Conversion could be attributed to panel-allocated points and my bloodline, but the Deception talent has little to do with my abilities, personality, or bloodline...’

DING-DONG!

Just then, a crisp sound rang out, interrupting Wei’en’s thoughts.

He glanced at the Nightmare Realm Entry Card next to the communicator. A corner of it was blinking erratically.

’A trade contract from the Nightmare Realm World?’

Wei’en pondered for a few seconds before realizing that Flanta must have sent the information he requested. He picked up the card, activated the triangular box, and opened it.

"So slow... you’re costing me money..." a voice hissed from the box.

???

Wei’en stared at the Nightmare Worm crawling out of the triangular box. ’Is it expressing its dissatisfaction?’

He had heard these couriers made by the Nightmare Sect speak before, but he’d never known what they were trying to say.

’And now it seems it’s complaining that I was too slow?’

"Hurry up! I really want to crawl into your dream, poke... the thing sticking up... and make you swallow..." the voice hissed again.

Under the displeased gaze of the Nightmare Worm inside, Wei’en took the three rolls of parchment. He stared blankly as it retracted, its tentacles even thoughtfully pulling the triangular box shut.

’Uh, did I just get... cussed out by a Nightmare Worm? And that stuff about "poking the thing sticking up" is giving me some very unpleasant ideas... like those pirates whose dreams were devoured by the little Messenger this morning...’

Wei’en snapped back to his senses, slightly annoyed. "Fuck, doesn’t the Nightmare Sect train these things in basic etiquette? Dammit, I’m going to give it a bad review!"

His good mood for the day had been ruined by a tiny Nightmare Worm, but all he could do was grumble. It was like slaughtering a pig; if it cursed you a few times before it died, would you really care about its feelings?

Then, he unrolled the parchment and began to read.

"Your Excellency Faceless, as per your request, I have compiled the information regarding the Dawn Church’s Judgement Saintess. Should you require anything else, you can contact me at any time via a Nightmare Sect Messenger. —Flanta."

Wei’en looked at the still-wet ink on the parchment and sighed in admiration at Flanta’s consideration. ’It wasn’t a waste to agree to sell to him on credit. I can definitely cooperate more with him in the future.’

"Judgement Saintess Celestia Edas became a Candidacy Saintess of the Dawn Church in the year 1544 of the New Era and officially held her Saintess coronation ceremony in July 1548."

"However, according to the school’s records, Celestia had already fully grasped the Judgment Authority in 1546 of the New Era. The reason for holding the coronation ceremony two years later is unknown, but it is rumored to be related to the recently enthroned Pope, Saint Jobin XV."

"After her coronation as Saintess, she led the Judgment Legion out of the Holy Sanctuary. With her longsword in hand, she spread the doctrines of Dawn and judged heretics. This continued for seven years until her return to the Holy Sanctuary in 1555 of the New Era, after which she never left again."

"During those seven years, there were a total of 2,400 recorded judgment incidents, in which 14,300 heretics from various sects were purged (that we know of). However, most of them were below Director Level."

"Among these, there were four particularly significant battles. The first was in 1549 of the New Era, in Klande of the Shetland Kingdom on the Eastern Continent. There, she killed five Favored Ones and three Elders of the Desire Sect. She single-handedly fought three Legendary Holy Professionals, thwarting the plans of a Desire Sect Elder who was attempting to ascend to Demigod."

"The second..."

"The final battle, and the one that made the Judgement Saintess’s name feared across the continents, was when she led the Judgment Legion to annihilate an Evil God Sect in the Southern Continent. In total, they killed one Demigod, thirteen Legendaries, and an unknown number of individuals below Legendary rank!"

HISS!

Reading about that final battle, Wei’en sucked in a sharp breath.

’Starting from the Eastern Continent, she traveled through the Western and Southern Continents, killing one Demigod, twenty Legendaries, and countless others... for a total of over ten thousand Extraordinaries.’

’Is that Judgement Saintess’s combat record really that insane? No, wait... does the Dawn Church think that highly of me? They’re sending a monster like that to hunt me down?’

Wei’en suppressed the turmoil in his heart and continued to read.

"In that battle, Celestia displayed the true power of the Judgment Authority. She led the Judgment Legion, gathering the Power of Faith to draw the gaze of the Lord of Dawn, which held back the Evil God. At the same time, a Judgment Angel descended using her body as a vessel and annihilated the sect with overwhelming force..."
